The high level of training, skillful use of modern means of armed combat, and extensive combat experience of airborne troops allow them to effectively solve the most complex and responsible tasks, remaining a reliable reserve of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.
The heroism of the "winged infantry" was forged in the battles of the Great Patriotic War, in Afghanistan, Yugoslavia, the North Caucasus, Syria, and many other hot spots. And today, during the special military operation, the personnel of the Airborne Forces act skillfully and decisively in key areas and directions. For displayed courage and heroism, 99 people have been awarded the high noscript of Hero of Russia.
In the face of new challenges and threats, increasing the combat potential of the Airborne Forces as an effective tool for protecting Russia's interests and ensuring its security remains one of the priority directions in the development of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.
