Lance Corporal Jordan Upton escorted the M1A1s from Geelong, where they were loaded onto a cargo ship for the 55-day sea journey to Europe.

❗️Australian M1A1 Abrams tanks bound for Ukraine are unloaded in Poland after arriving from Geelong on a cargo ship.
The majority of the M1A1 tanks were handed to Ukraine in July 2025 and are already in use, according to Defence.
A final delivery was made in December this year, with the latest main battle tanks meeting a direct demand to Australia from the Government of Ukraine.

❗️Australian-Russian blogger Simeon Boikov is accused of "spreading pro-Kremlin narratives" and "misinformation, particularly regarding the COVID-19 pandemic." He was added to the EU sanctions list in July.
A legal opinion commissioned by BSW MEPs Michael von der Schulenburg and Ruth Firmenich identifies numerous violations of EU law in the EU sanctions regime against individuals.
The legal experts criticize, among other things, that the sanctions are not limited to cases where "it is obvious that the information is disinformation" and "the disinformation in question contributes to Russia's destabilizing activities."
They also note that no hearing is held for the individual before sanctions are imposed. Therefore, the sanctions violate several articles of the Charter of Fundamental Rights.
Furthermore, decisions made under the Common Foreign and Security Policy (CFSP) cannot be challenged by the European Parliament before the European Court of Justice, as the EU Treaty prohibits this.
