❓Who should abstain from cutting hair & nails during the first 10 Days of Dhul Hijjah ❓
🐏 🚶🏻If an individual (for example a father) intends to slaughter at the ending of these ten days then he shouldn’t remove anything from his hair, nails, or body.
🔪As for someone slaughtering on his behalf, then there’s nothing wrong with him clipping his own nails or cutting his hair.
🚹 And if a person wants to slaughter for himself and his household with one sacrifice as is the sunnah, then it isn’t upon his family to abide by this principle. It only pertains to the one slaughtering, in this instance that being the father….

The Recommendation Of Performing Righteous Actions Within The First Ten Days Of Dhil-Hijjah, And How The Salaf Were Within Them
Ibn Al-Qayyim [رحمه الله] said:
❝They are the ten days by which Allaah swore an oath by in His Book in His saying:
﴿وَالْفَجْرِ وَلَيَالٍ عَشْرٍ﴾
«By the dawn. And by the ten nights»
Due to this it is recommended that the Takbeer and the Tahleel and the Tahmeed be made plentifully within them.❞
[Zaadul Ma’aad, (1/56) | Translated By Abū Haatim M. Farooq]
-
Ibn Rajab [رحمه الله] said:
❝As for the recommendation in being plentiful in the remembrance [of Allaah] within them; then it is proved by the saying of Allaah, The Mighty and Majestic:
﴿وَيَذْكُرُوا اسْمَ اللَّهِ فِي أَيَّامٍ مَّعْلُومَاتٍ﴾
«And they mention the name of Allaah on known days» [Al-Hajj: 28]
For indeed the known days are the ten days with the majority of the Scholars.❞
[Lataa-If Al-Ma’aarif, (Page: 354) | Translated By Abū Haatim M. Farooq]
-
Imaam An-Nawawee [رحمه الله] said:
❝Know that it is recommended to be plentiful in making Adhkaar [remembrance of Allaah] during these ten [days] – in excess of other than them. It is likewise recommended to do that on the day of ‘Arafah more-so than the rest of the ten [days].❞
[Al-Adhkaar, (Page: 209) | Translated By Abū Haatim M. Farooq]
-
Imaam An-Nawawee [رحمه الله] stated:
❝It has reached us from Saalim Bin ‘Abdillaah Bin ‘Umar [رضي الله عنه], that he saw a petitioner asking from the people on the day of ‘Arafah, so he said: ‘O feeble one! On this day is other than Allaah, The Mighty and Majestic to be asked from?’❞

‘Abdur-Rahmaan Ibn Abee Haatim said: I heard my father [Aboo Haatim Ar-Raazee] say:
❝I came to Yahya Bin Ma’een during the ten days – the ten of Dhil-Hijjah, and with me was something written down – meaning the names of those that transmit the narrations, and so I would ask him [concerning them] in secrecy, and he would respond to me. So when I exceeded much upon him he said: ‘is it written down with you?’ I said: ‘yes’, so he took it and looked at and then said: ‘on days such as this? And the mention of people within them?’ then he refused to answer me [my questions]. He said: ‘If you had asked me something from your memory; I would have answered you, as for you having it in writing; then I dislike it.’❞
[Jarh Wa Ta’deel, (1/317) | Translated By Abū Haatim M. Farooq]

The Prophet [ﷺ] said about fasting on the day of ’Arafah for those not performing the Hajj:
❝It expiates sins of the previous year as well as the following year.❞

The sun does not rise on any days better than the first ten of Dhul-Ḥijjah. Deeds are exalted therein; and the best of deeds are prayer, takbīr, charity, fasting and Ḥajj. Moreover, in exalted times sins are also greater in magnitude.

Ali ibn Abi Talib reported: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Verily, in Paradise are chambers whose outside can be seen from the inside, and whose inside can be seen from the outside.” A bedouin stood up and he said, “Who are they for, O Messenger of Allah?” The Prophet said, “For those who speak kind words, feed the poor, regularly fast, and pray to Allah at night while people sleep.”

Surah Al-Fatihah is a cure for showing off and arrogance, two deadly diseases of the heart
Shaykh Al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah would often say:
"You alone we worship" repels showing off (Riyā).
"You alone we ask for help" repels arrogance.

So as long as the people of the city defend the mud fortress, the enemy would not be able to reach the next fortress. But if they fail to defend it, the enemy will penetrate (and reach) the next, and then the next, until all the fortresses are destroyed.
Similarly, Imaan is like these five fortresses. The first is Yaqeen (certainty), the second is Ikhlaas (sincerity), the third is fulfilling the Faraaidh (obligations), the fourth is the Sunan (recommended acts), and the fifth is Adaab (etiquette).

Friday 7th June will be the first day of Dhul Hijjah.
(it starts from maghrib time on thursday)
These are the best 10 days in the year, increase in much good deeds and reduce/stop your bad deeds. Rewards for good deeds are multiplied and its mentioned bad deeds are too, Allahu alaam.
The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), as narrated in the hadeeth of Ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) said:
“There are no days on which righteous deeds are more beloved to Allah than these ten days – i.e., ten days of Dhul-Hijjah).” They said: “O Messenger of Allah, not even jihad for the sake of Allah?” He said: “Not even jihad for the sake of Allah, unless a man goes out himself with his wealth and does not come back with anything (i.e., he expends all his wealth and is martyred).” (Narrated by al-Bukhari, 969)
And it was narrated from Hunaydah ibn Khalid from his wife that one of the wives of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to fast nine days of Dhul-Hijjah and the day of ‘Ashura’ and three days of each month – the first Monday and two Thursdays.” (Narrated by Imam Ahmad, 21829; Abu Dawood, 2437; classed as da’eef in Nasb al-Raayah, 2/180, but classed as saheeh by al-Albani.)

Surely the people of Jannah when they enter and they don't find those companions of theirs who were with them upon good in this world, they will intercede for them in front of Allah ﷻ and they will say:
"Oh Rabb we have brothers and sisters who used to offer salah and fast with us, we do not see them?
Allah ﷻ will say, "Go to the fire and take out any person who had even an atoms amount of emaan (faith) in his heart."
Hasan Basri said, "Have lots of believing friends because they will be able to intercede for you on the day of Qiyamah.' If you don't find me in Jannah then please ask about me..."

It is established in the Ṣaḥīḥ that the Prophet (ﷺ) said,
When a servant desires to commit a sin, nothing is recorded against him, if he then leaves that sin for the sake of Allāh, one good deed is recorded for him, if he commits that sin, one sin is recorded for him, if he leaves that sin, but not for the sake of Allāh, no sin or reward is recorded for him.
