Ibn Taymiyyah said :

"However, the fact that people are born with fiṭrah does not mean that a human body is actually born with Islamic beliefs. To be sure, when we come out of the wombs of our mothers, we know nothing. We are only born with an uncorrupted heart which is able to see the truth of Islam and submit to it. If nothing happens which corrupts the heart we would eventually become Muslims. This power to know and to act which develops into Islam when there is nothing to obstruct it or affect its natural working is the fiṭrah on which God has created man."

Controlling the Tongue

"It is quite amazing how it can be easy upon a person to be cautious and wary with regards to [different impermissible acts such as]: eating from unlawful means, oppression, adultery and fornication, stealing, drinking intoxicants, looking at prohibited things and the likes, and yet quite difficult for him to be careful about the movement of his tongue. So bad that you find a person towards whom the people point to concerning his practice of the Religion, his asceticism, and worship, and despite this he says statements that anger Allaah greatly and he shows no concern about this, yet this statement will take him [to a Fire] that is farther than distance between east and west."

Sometimes in life, we reach a point where we have two paths: one leading to Allāh and the other to our desires. In those moments, choosing Allāh’s command and following His path seems like hardest thing to do. But we often forget that when we leave something for Allāh, He blesses us with something better.

One thing about our desires is , once they are fulfilled, there is no real fulfillment in it.
They often leave us hollow. We desire things one after another, and the cycle is never ending.

_Whereas when Allāh blesses us with something, there is peace in that fulfillment and a kind of contentment._

So, let this be a gentle reminder to myself and to all of you:when life brings you to a road where you have to choose between Allāh and your desires, choose Allāh.

For when one choose Allāh's path he opens other beautiful paths for us that we have never imagined.

History Repeats Itself - The Alawite Uprising at Jablah in 717 AH / 1317 AD

In his historical encyclopedia, Ibn Kathīr (d. 774 AH) recorded that a Nusayri (Alawite) man led an uprising near the coastal Syrian city of Jablah, claiming to be the Mahdī. On some occasions, he claimed to be Muḥammad ibn al-Ḥasan al-ʿAskarī (the Twelfth Imām), and on other occasions, he claimed to be ʿAlī ibn Abī Ṭālib, creator of the heavens and the earth [...]. He openly deemed the Muslims disbelievers, and he stated that the Nusayris were upon the truth.

Many of the Alawite chiefs coalesced around him, and they then raided the city of Jablah. They eventually entered the city and murdered many of its inhabitants. They exited it, chanting, "There is no God but Ali, no veil but Muḥammad, and no door but Salmān!" and cursing Abū Bakr and ʿUmar.

The town's inhabitants implored for help, but there was no one to aid them on that day. The Nusayri fugitives began to burn mosques and convert them into wine cellars. When presented with a Muslim captive, they would tell him, "Say that they there is no god but Ali and prostrate now to your deity, the Mahdī, who gives life and death, so that he may spare your life..."

They continued to cause corruption in the lands until official forces were dispatched to them, eventually defeating them and slaying many from their ranks, including the self-proclaimed Mahdī who had misguided them.

Ibn al-Qayyim said:

● [زاد المعاد ٣٩٨/١]

One of the righteous said,

“I did not ask Allāh for anything between ‘Asr and Maghrib on Friday except that my Lord responded to me up until I felt shy (to ask for more).”

‘When Tā’ūs b. Kaysān would finish performing the ‘Asr ṣalāh on Jumu’ah, he would face the qiblah and not speak to anyone until sunset.’

‘When Mufaḍḍal b. Fuḍālah would perform the ‘Asr ṣalāh on Jumu’ah, he would seclude himself in the corner of the Masjid and continuously supplicate until the sunset.'

Likewise Sa'ēd ibn Jubair would offer the ‘Asr prayer and avoid speaking to others until sunset (i.e. He would busy himself with supplicating)

IT IS A SIGN OF EMAN TO FIGHT AGAINST BIDAH AND IT'S PEOPLE.

(بسم الله والحمد لله والصلاة والسلام على رسول الله ، {وبعد})

It is a sign of Emān (Faith) that a person fights against Biddah and that which corrupts the Deen.

Do not be baffled by the large number of people doing innovations in the Deen.

It is narrated on the authority Abdullah Ibn Masūd that the Messenger of Allāh (صلى الله عليه وسلم) said:

۞ 1 → ❝There was never a Prophet sent before me by Allāh to his people but he had, among his people, (his) disciples and companions, who followed his ways and obeyed his command.

۞ 2 → Then there came after them their successors who said whatever they did not practice, and practiced whatever they were not commanded to do.

۞ 3 →
a) He who strove against them with his hand is a believer:

b) He who strove against them with his tongue is a believer, and

c) He who strove against them with his heart is a believer and beyond that there is no faith even to the extent of a mustard seed.❞ [Sahīh Muslim (81, 82)].

Sh Salih Al-Uthaymeen (رحنه الله) commented:

Some of the benefits from this Hadīth are as follows:

1 → Every Prophet which was sent to his people, before the Messenger of Allāh (صلى الله عليه وسلم), had from his people who were his disciples and companions, who would follow the Sunnah of that Prophet and implement his command.

2 → And every time the era of Prophethood (the Prophet and his disciples) passed away, Biddah (religious innovations) emerged, and sins increased, as the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم) said: ❝Then there came after them their successors who said whatever they did not practice, and practiced whatever they were not commanded to do.❞

3 → It is a sign of faith that a person strives against these Biddah and corruption with his hands or his tongue or his heart.

4 → And from this Hadīth we also learn that Emān increases and decreases, till it reaches the size of a mustard seed. A mustard seed is really small and it is used as an example to describe the smallness of a thing.

[Sharh Sahīh Muslim (1/164-165)].
