Three Types of Sleep

It is reported that ʿAbdullāh b. Al-ʿAmr bin Al-ʿĀṣ may ALLAH be pleased with them said:

There are three types of sleep: the incompetent’s sleep, proper sleep, and stupid sleep. As for the incompetent’s sleep, it is to sleep in the morning after sunrise (ḍuḥā time), when people are going about their needs (work), he is sleeping. As for the proper sleep, it is the midday nap (qaylūlah). And as for the stupid sleep, it is to sleep when it is time to pray.

Surah Ad-Dahr (الدهر) is another name for Surah Al-Insan (Surah 76) in the Quran. It is called "Ad-Dahr," meaning "The Time" or "The Age," because the surah begins with the verse:

هَلْ أَتَىٰ عَلَى ٱلْإِنسَٰنِ حِينٌۭ مِّنَ ٱلدَّهْرِ لَمْ يَكُن شَيْـًۭٔا مَّذْكُورًۭا
"Has there [not] come upon man a period of time when he was not a thing [even] mentioned?" (76:1)

This surah describes the creation of humans, the test of life, and the rewards of the righteous in Jannah. It also highlights the virtues of sincerity, charity, and patience.

It is authentically reported that the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) used to recite Surah As-Sajdah (32) in the first rak’ah and Surah Al-Insan (Ad-Dahr) (76) in the second rak’ah during the Fajr prayer on Fridays (Jumu’ah Fajr).

This is based on the hadith narrated by Abu Huraira (رضي الله عنه):

كَانَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ يَقْرَأُ فِي صَلاَةِ الْفَجْرِ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ ﴿الم تَنْزِيلُ﴾ السَّجْدَةَ، وَ﴿هَلْ أَتَى عَلَى الإِنْسَانِ﴾

"The Prophet (ﷺ) used to recite in the Fajr prayer on Friday: Alif-Lam-Mim Tanzeel (Surah As-Sajdah) and Hal Ata ‘alal Insan (Surah Al-Insan).

This practice is Sunnah and is done to remind the believers of the creation of Adam, the Day of Judgment, and the rewards of Jannah—key concepts covered in these two surahs."

Shaikh al-Islaam, Ibn Taymyyah رحمه الله said:

“It was said to Imaam Ahmad ibn Hanbal (rahimahullah): ‘A person who fasts, offers prayers, and does Itikaaf (seclusion in the Masjid) more beloved to you or the one who speaks against Ahl al-Bidah?’

He Imaam Ahmad (rahimahullah) said: ‘If he stands (in the night), prays and does Itikaaf, then these are all for himself. But when he speaks against the Ahl al-Bidah, then this is for (the welfare of) the Muslims and this is better.’

(Ibn Taymiyyah continues): So he (Imaam Ahmad) has made it clear that this benefits all Muslims in general regarding their Deen, similar in nature to Jihaad in the Cause of Allaah.”

Doctors and engineers are from the most intelligent people, their sciences of medicine and mathematics are valid.

PS: Basically both are noble professions, proud to be a lifesaver. All the knowledge and wisdom is from Allah, for Allah (InShaAllah).

Reward Equivalent To A Year Of Fasting And Praying


From Aws Bin Aws Ath-Thaqafi who said I heard the Messenger of Allaah [ﷺ] saying:

❝Whoever performs a perfect Ghusl on Friday then goes very early to the Khutbah, walking and not riding, sits close to the Imam, listens and does not speak or keep himself busy then for every step towards the Khutbah is the reward equivalent to a year of fasting and praying.❞

❝The people of knowledge say: 'We do not know of a Hadeeth of the Prophet [ﷺ] which has more reward than this Hadeeth.'❞

Guard Your Heart With The Remembrance Of Allah.

The Prophet ‎ﷺ said: “In the body there is a piece of flesh which, if it is sound, the entire body will be sound, and if it is corrupt, the entire body will be corrupt. Indeed it is the heart.” (Bukhari and Muslim).

The Prophet ‎ﷺ said: “Allah does not look at the outward appearance or wealth of any one of you; rather he looks at your hearts and deeds.” (Muslim)

The Worst Fitnah

It is reported that Ḥudhayfah – Allāh be pleased with him – was asked:

“What is the worst fitnah?” He replied, “That good and evil is presented to you and you do not know which of them to follow.”

How Many Recite The Book Of Allaah

Shaykh Ibn Uthaymeen [رحمه الله] said:

❝So many people recite the Book of Allaah Ta’ala. However, they recite it in wording and correctly recite its letters but they do not recite its meaning. They do not establish its Shari’a.

If you reflected upon the condition of the Islamic world today, you would find that most of the Islamic world are upon correctly reciting the letters, rather than establishing the meaning and the Shari’a.❞

Ibn Rajab رحمه الله said:

Al-Hasan was asked: 'Why did the people of night prayer have the most beautiful faces?' He replied: 'That is because they are alone with the ever Merciful and He envelops them with light.

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, “Whoever leaves his house with ritual purification for a prescribed prayer, his reward will be like one performing a Hajj pilgrimage in a state of sanctity. Whoever leaves to glorify Allah in the forenoon, laboring only for this purpose, his reward will be like one performing the Umrah pilgrimage.”

Anas ibn Mālik (رضي الله عنه):

كان المسلمون إذا دخل شعبان انكبّوا على المصاحف، فقرؤوها، وأخرجوا زكاة أموالهم تقويةً للضعيف والمسكين على صيام رمضان.

“When Sha‘bān began, the Muslims would devote themselves to the Muṣḥaf and recite it, and they would give out the Zakāh of their wealth to strengthen the weak and the needy for fasting in Ramaḍān.”

Ibn al-Qayyim (rahimahullah) said:

One of the righteous women used to pray the night prayer a lot. She was asked about that, so she said:

"Indeed, it (i.e., the night prayer) beautifies the face. And I would like my face to be beautified.

Allah didn’t remove the sea for Musa.
He parted it.

Allah didn’t extinguish the fire for Ibrahim.
He made it cool.

Allah didn’t directly heal Ayyub.
He guided him to the water.

Allah didn’t place dates in Maryam’s hands.
He instructed her to shake the tree.

Allah doesn’t always take away our hardships, but He provides a path through them.

So when we seek relief, don’t be surprised if it comes with challenges to overcome.🫀

Ibn al-Qayyim رحمه الله said:

“Do you think the righteous do not commit sins?

They simply hid them and didn’t expose them...

And sought forgiveness for them and did not insist on them...

And admitted to them and did not justify them...

And did goodness after they did wrong..

One of the salaf was asked, “How is the relationship between you and your religion?”

He said, “it is shredded by sins, and I patch it with seeking forgiveness (isitighfār).

How excellent is the question
And how deep is the answer!.”

💦[Powerful Advice from a Nurturing Scholar: Avoid Anything that Causes Worry, Sadness, & Distress]

Shaykh Ibn Uthaymeen (may Allah have mercy on him) said:

“Strive to distance yourself from anything that brings worry, sorrow, or distress so that you may always remain at ease, with a content and open heart, focused on Allah, His worship, and your worldly and spiritual affairs. If you practice this, you will find relief. However, if you burden yourself with regret over the past or excessive concern for the future in a way not sanctioned by Islamic teachings, know that you will exhaust yourself and miss out on much goodness.”
