The Day of ‘Arafah + Friday
(Countries where today is the 9th of Dhul Hijjah)

The Prophet ﷺ said:
_“Fasting on the day of ‘Arafah expiates the sins of the previous year and the coming year.”_
—[Sahih Muslim]

_Ibn al qayyim رحمه الله said when asked about 'Arafah and friday:_

• When ‘Arafah falls on a Friday, its two greatest days meet:
Jumu’ah (the best day of the week) + ‘Arafah (best day of the year).

• Both have moments when duas are most accepted — especially before Maghrib.

• It is the day when Allaah perfected our religion:
_”This day I have perfected for you your religion and completed My favor upon you...”_
—[Al-Ma'idah 5:3]
Revealed on a Friday, on the Day of ‘Arafah, during the Prophet’s only Hajj.

• It is the day when Allaah draws close to His slaves in ‘Arafah and boasts of them before the angels.

Fast. Repent. Dedicate the whole day to du'as

❝When the people of Jannah will reunite, they will remember all the times they spoke about Jannah in this world. They’ll look back and laugh, at how short life was, and then smile, because beautiful is their final abode.

The people of paradise will have all that they desire. One step into Jannah and they will remember no pain. They will say they never suffered, they will say they never cried.

A dip in Jannah.

Oh how much we long for that moment. The moment where we reunite, we hug our loved ones once again. We forget about all the pain, and thank Allāh for all the tests!

How strange does it seem, that these tests which weigh a ton on our chest today will one day elevate us. Elevate us so high, that we will thank Allāh. We will thank Him for testing us, for loving us and for giving us more than anyone could imagine.

A place of eternity, vast, beautiful, peaceful.

Everything one can desire.

Be patient, oh beautiful slaves of Allāh, for our Lord is more Merciful than a mother is to her child.❞ [Imām Ibn al-Qayyim (رحمه الله) in “Al-Fawa’īd” (pg. 119).]

“The more a person conceals their deeds, the closer they come to sincerity; for secrecy and avoiding the gaze of others nurture the soul's pursuit of true devotion. It is for this reason that voluntary acts of worship have been prescribed to be performed in the privacy of one’s home.”

Asking Allah Ta'Ala 📝💎

Ḥakam ibn Mūsā said, ‘I woke up one morning and my wife complained about not having any flour or bread. I left knowing that I would be unable to get anything and while walking down the street I said, “O Allāh! You know that I know that You know that I have no flour or bread or money, so grant them to us!” A man met me and asked, “Do you wish bread or flour?” I replied, “Either.” Then I walked around during the day trying to find means to acquire what I needed but was unable. When I returned home my family had prepared a veritable feast of bread and meat.

I asked, “Where did you get this?” They replied, “From the person you sent!” I remained silent.’

Ibn al-Qayyim رحمه الله said:

“A protection from the Shaytān is restraining the glance, avoiding excessive speech and food, and not mixing with the people excessively. The Shaytān gains mastery over the son of Adam through these four doors.

The wandering glance transports the image to the heart and distracts the mind with it. Thus, fitnah starts with a curious glance.”

The more you worry about the Dunya, the less you will have concern for the Hereafter. No wonder our prayers lack in Khushoo’, as even in our prayers we are occupied with worldly affairs.

Maalik Ibn Deenaar said:

❝In proportion to the worry you have for the Dunya (worldly life), that (equal proportion) of concern for the Aakhirah (Hereafter) is removed from your heart; and in proportion to the worry you have for the Hereafter, that (equal proportion) of concern for the Dunya is removed from your heart.❞

Allah Will Deal with You in That Same Manner

Ibn al-Qayyim

"Whoever deals with Allah's creation in a certain manner, Allah will deal with him in that same manner in both this world and the Hereafter. Allah is to His servant as the servant is to His creation. As you behave, so shall you be treated. Be as you wish, for Allah will be to you as you are to Him and to His servants."

Whoever is gentle with the servants of Allah, Allah will be gentle with him. Whoever shows them mercy, Allah will show him mercy. Whoever does good to them, Allah will do good to him. Whoever forgives them, Allah will forgive him. Whoever is generous to them, Allah will be generous to him. Whoever conceals their faults, Allah will conceal his faults. Whoever pursues their faults, Allah will pursue his faults. Whoever exposes them, Allah will expose and disgrace him. Whoever withholds good from them, Allah will withhold good from him. Whoever schemes against others, Allah will scheme against him. Whoever deceives others, Allah will deceive him. And whoever treats people with a certain trait, Allah will treat him with that very trait in both this world and the next.

This is where most of us go wrong. We either rely on our efforts and measures and discard our trust in Allah, or we rely on “trust in Allah” and don’t adopt any practical measures to solve our problems.

But relying on Allah and entrusting one’s affairs to Him in the correct sense must be accompanied by taking permissible measures.

The Best Thing in This Life

“The best thing in this life, really, is to have someone who loves you for the sake of Allāh, you have friendship with such a person. Whether it be with a friend, a spouse, your child, anyone who loves for the sake of Allāh and strives towards righteousness. That’s why this topic is so beautiful and vast, volumes could be written on the topic of Al-Mahabbah.

That’s why from the best things one can have in this life is to have a friend who loves him for the sake of Allāh. Indeed, all other friendships will be expelled on the Day of Judgement. Friends on that Day will be foes to one another except Al-Muttaqūn - the pious. Those who loved for Allāh’s sake, that is the only love that will remain.

(الْأَخِلَّاءُ يَوْمَئِذٍ بَعْضُهُمْ لِبَعْضٍ عَدُوٌّ إِلَّا الْمُتَّقِينَ)

When there’s love for Allāh’s sake, there is true friendship - intimate friends who hasten and race each other to Allāh. When one falls down, the other picks him up. You find comfort and solace from each other in a world that breaks you continuously, a source of relief for each other. You see each other and your difficulties are eased, and you both hasten to goodness. That’s companionship.

Allāh honours this friendship that’s for His sake. That’s why they are amongst those who are shaded on a day when there’s no shade but His shade.”

🤲🏼May Allah grant the Shaykh a speedy recovery, forgive him for all his sins and raise his rank. May Allāh grant him a long, healthy, blessed life full of good deeds, Āmīn.

Do Not Grieve Over The Past
Shaykh AbduRahmaan As-Sa'adi [رحمه الله] said:
❝Do not grieve over past matters which have not been destined, from ill health, or loss of wealth or a worldly matter, etc.
Your concern should be with rectification of actions on the day.
Since a person is living in the moment. He should not be saddened for what has passed. Also he should not research into the future where that research would not be of any benefit.
It is upon you to be truthful, fulfill your contracts, keep to one's promises and justice in all dealings.
Fulfilling rights completely and perfectly with a tranquil soul and with truthful pure Eemaan.
Busy yourself with your own mistakes and your matters, rather than the mistakes of the people and their matters.
Deal with everyone according to their situation and condition, whether he is a senior, or youngster, male or female, a leader or a follower.
Be gentle and merciful to everyone even animals and livestock, since indeed Allaah is merciful to his merciful worshippers.
Be balanced in all your matters, and open up your mind to every religious and worldly benefit.❞

Make the best of ur situation ups and downs are part of life have Tawakkal on Allah

Some people work so hard and get nothing. Others work just as hard and get everything. Then there are those who don’t work at all and have it all, while some don’t work and remain with nothing.

Nothing is from us. The job, the money, the friends, the spouse, the house, the car, it’s all from Allah. And not because of our hard work. Recognise His blessings, be grateful, and help others while you can.

Because Allah gives to whoever He wills, and takes from whoever He wills.

And in the end, we’ll leave this life with nothing—naked, empty-handed, and poor, just as we came into it.

Shaykh Muḥammad Taqī al-Dīn al-Ḥilālī:

“These affairs happen in accordance with what Allah has ordain written for everyone. Like shopkeepers, one shop is frequented by many customers who generate sales, whereas the shop next door, despite stocking the same or even better goods, is inactive and receives no customers”

Such is the dunya.

إِنَّ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ تَنْهَىٰ عَنِ ٱلْفَحْشَآءِ وَٱلْمُنكَرِ ۗ وَلَذِكْرُ

"Indeed, ˹genuine˺ prayer should deter from indecency and wickedness." {29:45}

Never underestimate the transformative power of sincere worship, even if one continues to struggle with sinful behaviour, for he may be on a path to reform and repentance. It is reported that Abū Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه) said:

جاء رجلٌ إلى النبيِّ ﷺ فقال إنَّ فلانًا يُصلِّي بالليلِ فإذا أصبحَ سَرَقَ قال إنهُ سينهاهُ ما يقولُ

A man came to the Prophet ﷺ and said: "This person prays at night, but steals when morning arrives." The Prophet ﷺ said, "Surely, he says [in his salāh] what will (eventually) prevent him from what is said about him (stealing)."

Someone told me they were reading Stephen Hawking’s books, and slowly, their faith began to weaken, other people said, we begged Allah for halal, but He didn’t answer. Now my faith is breaking.

This Is What Happens When You:

Overthink in isolation: The mind becomes Satan’s playground.

Confuse atheist philosophy with "science".

Watching porn yes men and women both watch it: It deadens the heart’s connection to Allah.

Neglect your body & soul: No sun, no movement, no discipline = a soul in decay.

Satan targets the lonely, idle, and confused. Don’t be an easy victim.

The Solution: Reconnect with Truth

1. Ask, But Ask the Right Sources
Doubts are normal, but:

Seek real scholars, not Reddit atheists.

Study Islam, it dismantles materialism better than any "science" book.

2. Fight Despair with Action
Exercise: A lazy body breeds a depressed mind.

Eat well, cook, walk outdoors: Neglecting the body starves the soul.

Replace poison with purity: Quit porn. Quit nihilistic content. Fill your time with Quran, even if just 5 minutes daily.

4. The Ultimate Antidote: Observe Creation
Allah commands us to ponder the universe: not to doubt Him, but to strengthen faith:

"Indeed, in the creation of the heavens and earth and the alternation of night and day are signs for those of understanding."
*(Quran 3:190-191)*

The Prophet ﷺ said:

"The best of Allah’s servants are those who observe the sun, moon, stars, and shadows to remember Allah."
(Mustadrak al-Hakim, Sahih)

Allah didn’t adorn the sky with stars for "randomness" but as reminders:

"We adorned the nearest heaven with lamps." (67:5)

"We made the stars as beauty for the beholders." (15:16)

Ask yourself:

If you’re reading atheist books, have you truly studied Islam’s intellectual tradition?

If you’re angry at Allah, why trust Hawking’s words over the One who created Hawking?

Fight for your faith. The universe itself testifies to its Creator if you’re willing to see.

"If someone praises you in your face, then rebuke them, be angry [about it] and do not approve of it!

And say: "O Allāh, do not take me to account for what they say and forgive me for what they do not know!"

Ibn Mas’ūd رضي الله عنه said:

“The one who abandons the prayer has no religion!”

Imām ash-Shāfi’ee [may Allāh have mercy on him] said:

“If the people were to reflect upon Surah al-‘Asr, it would be sufficient for them.”

By time, Indeed, mankind is in loss, Except for those who have believed and done righteous deeds and advised each other to truth and advised each other to patience.

Lessons from Suratul Asr where Allah (swt) says that all people are in danger except those who have four qualities:
1. having faith,
2. doing good deeds,
3. calling people to the truth,
4. calling people to patience.
