Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, "A man will be brought on the Day of Resurrection and will be cast into Hell, and his intestines will pour forth and he will go round them as a donkey goes round a millstone. The inmates of Hell will gather round him and say: 'What has happened to you, O so-and-so? Were you not enjoining us to do good and forbidding us to do evil?' He will reply: 'I was enjoining you to do good, but was not doing it myself; and I was forbidding you to do evil, but was doing it myself".

Ibn al-Qayyim رحمه الله said,

If Allaah puts a person under certain tests and trials and the person recognizes that he must resort to Allaah alone seeking His help,

then this is a good sign for him; the trials turn to purification and mercy.

If on the other hand, he rejects, complains, and turns away from Allaah and seeks help from human beings like himself, then this is a bad sign for him;

the trials turn to punishment and misery for him.

Sh. Ibn ‘Uthaymīn [رحمه الله] said; "Sleeping is a blessing from Allāh as it renews energy and cures tiredness."

Ibn al-Qayyim [رحمه الله] said: "Sleeping too much kills the heart, makes the body heavy and wastes time."

Ibn al-Qayyim [رحمه الله] said: "The best times to sleep are at the beginning of the night and in the middle of the day."

Ibn al-Qayyim [رحمه الله] said: "To achieve eight hours of sleep at night is good - not more."

Ibn al-Qayyim [رحمه الله] said: "To sleep 8 hours during the night (4) and day (4) is best."

When a people leave the commands of Allah…

When Cyprus was conquered and the booty was carried to Al Madinah, people saw Abu Ad-Dardaa' weep. Astonished, they approached and Jubair Ibn Nufair said to him, "Why are you weeping on the day that Allah supported Islam and the Muslims?" Abu Ad Dardaa' replied with wisdom and deep understanding, "Woe to you, Jubair.' What a trifling thing creatures are, if they leave thecommands of Allah. It was the best nation, having dominion, but it left the commands of Allah, and therefore it came to what you see."

They ask, “Why go for ‘Umrah so often?”

Because the Beloved ﷺ said:

“From one ‘Umrah to the next, the sins between them are erased. And the accepted Hajj has no reward except Paradise.”

(Bukhari 1773, Muslim 1349)

When Paradise is on offer, “too often” doesn’t exist.

⭕️ Khushoo (awe, fear of Allaah)

🔹Make the most of this month by developing Khushoo and making it an integral part of your Ibaadah.

🔹Know that sinning is what diminishes the Khushoo in the heart.

🔹If we have not benefited from our previous Ramadhaan - from our Siyaam and our Qiyaam - then know that it was due of the lack of sincerity and Khushoo among us, except for those whom Allaah تعالى protected.

The Messenger صلى الله عليه وسلم said:

أول شيء يرفع من هذه الأمة الخشوع حتى لا ترى فيها خاشعا

“The very first thing to be raised from this Ummah is Khushoo until there is not a single person in it with Khushoo.”

[Saheeh al-Jaami (2569) and graded as “Saheeh” by Shaikh al-Albaanee]
He صلى الله عليه وسلم also said:

أوَّلُ ما يُرْفَعُ مِنَ الناسِ الخشوعُ

“The first thing to be raised from the people is Khushoo.”

[Saheeh al-Jaami (2576) and graded as “Saheeh” by Shaikh al-Albaanee]

Abu Dardaa’ رضي الله عنه said to one of the companions:

إِنْ شئتَ لأُحَدِّثَنَّكَ بأوِّلِ علْمٍ يُرْفَعُ منَ الناسِ الخشوعُ يوشِكُ أنْ تدخُلَ مسجِدَ جماعَةٍ فلا تَرَى فيه رجلًا خاشِعًا

“If you wish I will tell you what the first type of knowledge taken from the people will be - it is al-Khushoo (the fear of Allaah- humility, submissiveness) such that if you enter a Jaami'ah Masjid, you will not see a single man who has Khushoo.”

[Sunan al-Tirmidhee (2653) and graded as “Saheeh” by Shaikh al-Albaanee]📚

The Prophet Muhammad PBUH said:

ضَحِكَ رَبُّنَا مِنْ قُنُوطِ عِبَادِهِ ، وَقُرْبِ غِيَرِهِ

“Our Lord laughs at how quickly His servants lose hope, despite how near relief actually is.”

I said, “O Messenger of Allah, does the Lord really laugh?” He replied, “Yes.” So I said,

“Then we will never lose hope in a Lord who laughs.”

Umar bin al Khattab said:

❝Do not let the prayer of a man deceive you nor his fasting. Rather look at the truthfulness of his speech, his trustworthiness whenever he is entrusted, and how he acts whenever he is given wealth and/or power.❞

Ibn al-Qayyim رحمه الله:

"The blessings that descend upon children are due to the deeds of their parents, and the blessings that descend upon parents are due to the dua of their children."

So, don’t busy your thoughts regarding “how” falsehood will be stamped out, but busy it with “what” your role will be in carrying the truth amidst your family, community

Ibn Qayyim (rahimahullah) stated:

Four things that bring joy to the heart:

1. Looking at loved ones
2. Looking (and reflecting) at the blue sky
3. Looking (and reflecting) at flowing water
4. Looking (and reflecting) at greenery.

Dhun-Noon al-Misrī (رحمه اللّٰه) was asked:
“What are the signs of sincerity?”

He (رحمه اللّٰه) stated:
“When there is no love of the people's praise and fear of their blame in your action, you are one who is sincere.”

[Abū Nuʿaym al-Asfahānī (رحمه اللّٰه), Hilayat al-Awliyā’, 10/242]

Ibn al-Qayyim: When Islam becomes very strange the scholars will be few, and the foolish will prevail.

Rasulallah ﷺ said:

“A person may utter a word, not thinking it is significant, but because of it, he will sink into Hellfire a distance greater than that between the east and west.”

— (Sahih al-Bukhari, 6478; Sahih Muslim, 2988)

“Yet still you prefer the life of this world when the Hereafter is better and longer lasting.”

[87: 16-17]

This world is like a block of ice - inexpensive and quick to melt - while the Hereafter is like a valuable diamond that does not dissolve.

What can my enemies do to me?

Shaykh Al-Islām Ibn Taymiyyah (رحمه الله) said:

“What can my enemies do to me? I have in my breast both my heaven and my garden. If I travel they are with me, never leaving me. Imprisonment for me is a chance to be alone with my Lord. To be killed is martyrdom and to be exiled from my land is a spiritual journey”

Fuḍayl b. ‘Iyāḍ رحمه الله said: "Whoever knows well the Sunnah, the Bid'ah will reveal itself to him!"

Al-Hasan al-Basree (d. 110H) rahimahullaah said:

“Do not sit with a person of desires, for he will cast in your heart something, if you were to follow it, will destroy you; or if you were to oppose it then it will disease (sicken) your heart.”
