The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to Anas, “Young man, if you are able every morning and evening to remove any malevolence in your heart towards anyone, then do so.” Then, the Prophet said, “Young man, that is my Sunnah. Whoever revives my Sunnah has loved me, and whoever loves me will be with me in Paradise.”

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗠𝘂𝘀𝗹𝗶𝗺 𝗦𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗕𝗲 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗢𝗳 𝗠𝗶𝘀𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗱𝘀 ‘𝗜’, ‘𝗠𝗶𝗻𝗲’ 𝗔𝗻𝗱 ‘𝗜 𝗣𝗼𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘀𝘀’

Imam Ibn al-Qayyim al-Jawziyyah رحمه الله said:

“And the Muslim should be aware of misusing ‘I’, ‘mine’ and ‘I possess’, because Iblees, Fir'aun and Qaaroon were indeed tried with these three expressions...

“I am better than him”
(سورة ص: ٧٦)
— this is the statement of Iblees.

“Mine is the dominion of Egypt”
(سورة الزخرف: ٥١)
— this is the statement of Fir'aun.

“This has been given to me only because of knowledge I possess.”
(سورة القصص: ٧٨)
— this is the statement of Qaaroon.

The best place to put ‘I’ is when the worshipper (of Allah) says: I am the sinful, mistaken, forgiveness-seeking, confessing worshipper (of Allah).

And ‘mine’ when he says: the sin is mine, the fault is mine, the indigence is mine, the poverty is mine and the lowness is mine.

And ‘I possess’ when he says: (Oh Allah) forgive me what I have committed (from sins) intentionally, jokingly, mistakenly, purposely, and I possess (within me is) all of that.

(This du'a is part of a whole du'a reported in Sahih Muslim)

Patience And Prayer: The Secret To Overcoming Life’s Problems!

Ibn ‘Abdil-Barr Raḥimahullāh: “Dunyā (this world) and Ākhirah (Hereafter) are (like) two wives, if you try to please one of them the other one gets displeased.”

‎● [بهجة المجالس ٢٣٧]
There is no such thing as “luck” in Islam. What people call luck is actually the Qadr of Allaah, His Divine Decree.

Allaah says: “No disaster strikes upon the earth or among yourselves except that it is in a Register before We bring it into being. Indeed that, for Allaah, is easy.” (Al-Hadid 57:22)

The Prophet ﷺ said: “If the entire nation were to gather to benefit you, they would never benefit you except with what Allaah has already written for you. And if they were to gather to harm you, they would never harm you except with what Allaah has already written against you.” (Tirmidhi)

Life ends in the soil, but the soul continues. Prepare for what truly remains.

Allah (subḥānahū wa taʿālā) tells us our purpose clearly: ‘I did not create jinn and men except that they worship Me’ (51:56).”

“The value of a rich man is his wealth, while the value of a learned man is his knowledge. The former is valued according to his wealth: if it ceases, so does his value; he is left valueless. The value of a learned man does not decrease, it is always on the rise.” - Ibn Qayyim [Miftāh Dār Al-Sa’ādah, 1:418+]

Tawakkul

Sometimes Allah takes something away, and at first it feels like loss. But Allah never takes without intending to give better. Even in moments of uncertainty, He replaces, He provides, He opens doors at the right time.

It takes faith to believe that “Allah has something better for me.” But if He has carried you before, He can do it again. Have tawakkul, have sabr, and remind yourself: Indeed, He is the Best of Planners.

“A funeral passed by, and the people praised the deceased with good, so the Prophet ﷺ said: ‘It has been affirmed.’ Then another funeral passed by, and they spoke of the deceased with evil, so he said: ‘It has been affirmed.’
‘Umar ibn al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) asked: ‘What has been affirmed?’ He ﷺ said: ‘This one you praised with good, so Paradise has been affirmed for him. And this one you spoke of with evil, so the Fire has been affirmed for him. You are Allah’s witnesses on earth.’”
- [al-Bukhari & Muslim]

And Imam Ahmad رحمه الله said:
“Between us and you are the funerals.”

At the death of a scholar, Subhan Allah, when you see the people’s reactions and their testimony, you truly understand what Imam Ahmad meant; that the legacy of truth and sincerity is witnessed at the funeral, and it distinguishes the people of Sunnah from the people of deviation.

🌿 Trust in Allah

The Prophet ﷺ said:
"If you put your trust completely in Allah, He will provide for you as He provides for the birds. They go out hungry in the morning and return with full bellies in the evening."
— [Tirmidhi]

Put your heart at ease. Whatever is written for you will reach you, and whatever is not, will never be yours. Trust Allah’s plan—He is the Best of Planners.
