Life ends in the soil, but the soul continues. Prepare for what truly remains.

Allah (subḥānahū wa taʿālā) tells us our purpose clearly: ‘I did not create jinn and men except that they worship Me’ (51:56).”

“A funeral passed by, and the people praised the deceased with good, so the Prophet ﷺ said: ‘It has been affirmed.’ Then another funeral passed by, and they spoke of the deceased with evil, so he said: ‘It has been affirmed.’
‘Umar ibn al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) asked: ‘What has been affirmed?’ He ﷺ said: ‘This one you praised with good, so Paradise has been affirmed for him. And this one you spoke of with evil, so the Fire has been affirmed for him. You are Allah’s witnesses on earth.’”
- [al-Bukhari & Muslim]

And Imam Ahmad رحمه الله said:
“Between us and you are the funerals.”

At the death of a scholar, Subhan Allah, when you see the people’s reactions and their testimony, you truly understand what Imam Ahmad meant; that the legacy of truth and sincerity is witnessed at the funeral, and it distinguishes the people of Sunnah from the people of deviation.

🌿 Trust in Allah

The Prophet ﷺ said:
"If you put your trust completely in Allah, He will provide for you as He provides for the birds. They go out hungry in the morning and return with full bellies in the evening."
— [Tirmidhi]

Put your heart at ease. Whatever is written for you will reach you, and whatever is not, will never be yours. Trust Allah’s plan—He is the Best of Planners.

The Fleeting Nature of This World 🌍

“If a man were given the entire world from beginning to end and then death came to him, it would be like seeing a delightful dream and waking up to find nothing in his hands.” — ʿUmar b. al-Khaṭṭāb (raḥimahullāh)

*THE VIRTUES OF REACHING OLD AGE*

‘No one reaches forty years in Islam except that Allah protects him from madness, leprosy and leucoderma. When he is fifty, Allah makes easy his reckoning. When he reaches sixty, Allah grants him repentance. And when he reaches seventy, Allah loves him and the inhabitants of the heavens love him. And when he reaches eighty, Allah accepts his good deeds and overlooks his sins. When he reaches ninety, Allah forgives his past and future sins, he is named ‘the prisoner of Allah on earth’ and is granted intercession [for forgiveness] for his family.’

This Hadith is reported by several Sahabah رضي الله عنهم and is recorded in many Hadith collections with slight variations in the wording.

ALLAH CURSES FOUR KINDS OF PEOPLE.

Abu't-Tufayl (radiAllahuanhu) said, "'Ali ibn Abe Talib (radiAllahuanhu) was asked, 'Did the Prophet (sallallaahu alayhiwa sallam), give you something special which he did not give to anyone else?' He replied, 'The Messenger of Allah (sallallaahu alayhiwa sallam), did not give me anything special which he did not give to everyone else except for what I have in my sword scabbard.' He brought out a piece of paper. Written on that paper was:

'Allah curses anyone:

1. Sacrificing an animal for other than Allah.
2. Allah curses anyone who steals a milestone. 3. Allah curses anyone who curses his parents. 4 Allah curses anyone who gives shelter to an innovator.'" [Al-Adab Al-Mufrad 17]

Never Blame Allah for Your Hardship, Own Your Faults Instead.

In times of hardship, a believer never blames Allah. Calamities often come from our own actions, just as the Quran reminds us through the stories of Uhud and Prophet Yunus عليه السلام. True faith means accepting Allah’s Qadr with patience and humility.

Ibn al-Qayyim رحمه الله said,

If Allaah puts a person under certain tests and trials and the person recognizes that he must resort to Allaah alone seeking His help,

then this is a good sign for him; the trials turn to purification and mercy.

If on the other hand, he rejects, complains, and turns away from Allaah and seeks help from human beings like himself, then this is a bad sign for him;

the trials turn to punishment and misery for him.

VIRTUES OF RECITING SURAH KAHAF EVERY FRIDAY

Narrated by Ibn ‘Umar (RA):

The Prophet ﷺ said:

“Whoever recites Surah al-Kahf on the day of Jumu’ah, a light will shine for him from beneath his feet up to the clouds of the sky, which will shine for him on the Day of Resurrection, and he will be forgiven (the sins) between the two Fridays.”
— Reported by al-Bayhaqi in Shu‘ab al-Eemaan (2/474). Authenticated by Shaykh al-Albani in Silsilah al-Saheehah (no. 2459).

As per the above hadees only:
1- A light will be given
2- This light will also shine on the day of resurrection
3- All sins (minor) will be forgiven between the two Fridays

Other virtues (in other ahadees):

• Reciting/memorising first/last 10 ayahs protects from Dajjal.
• Recitation invites tranquility (sakeenah) and angels.

In this age of massive deception and fitnah, only a foolish person will avoid recitation of Surah Kahaf on Friday. When literally everything of this modern world is designed to extinguish our light and spiritual energy, we all need the light to shine. And we all need protection from the dajjali system and its isms and schisms.

A wise man once said:

الحديد بالطن ، والذهب بالجرام ، والألماس بالقيراط ، والفاكهة بالكيلو ، أمّا أعمال الآخرة فهي .. بالذرّة

"IRON is measured per TON;
GOLD per GRAM;
DIAMONDS per CARAT;
FRUIT per KILO;
But DEEDS are measured per ATOMS WEIGHT ..."

The Qur'an states:
فَمَن يَعْمَلْ مِثْقَالَ ذَرَّةٍ خَيْرًا يَرَه
وَمَن يَعْمَلْ مِثْقَالَ ذَرَّةٍ شَرًّا يَرَه
"So, whoever has done an atom's weight of good deeds will see it, and whoever has done an atom's weight of bad deeds will see it." [99:7-8].

Never underestimate good & bad deeds...

The importance of money:

‎جاء رجل إلى سفيان الثوري فقال: يا أبا عبدالله تمسك هذه الدنانير؟!!
‌‏فقال: اسكت، لولا هذه الدنانير لتمندل بنا هؤلاء الملوك

A man said to Imam Sufyan al-Thawri: ‘𝙬𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙖𝙧𝙚 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙙𝙤𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙖𝙡𝙡 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙨𝙚 𝘿𝙞𝙣𝙖𝙧𝙨?!’
The Imam said: “𝘽𝙚 𝙦𝙪𝙞𝙚𝙩, 𝙞𝙛 𝙞𝙩 𝙬𝙖𝙨𝙣’𝙩 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙨𝙚 𝙙𝙞𝙣𝙖𝙧𝙨 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙠𝙞𝙣𝙜𝙨 𝙬𝙤𝙪𝙡𝙙 𝙪𝙨𝙚 𝙪𝙨 𝙡𝙞𝙠𝙚 𝙖 𝙩𝙞𝙨𝙨𝙪𝙚 𝙥𝙖𝙥𝙚𝙧!”

(‘Hilyah’, 6/381).

And he also said:

المال في هذا الزمان سلاحُ المؤمن
"𝙒𝙚𝙖𝙡𝙩𝙝 𝙞𝙨 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙬𝙚𝙖𝙥𝙤𝙣 𝙤𝙛 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙗𝙚𝙡𝙞𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧 𝙞𝙣 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙨𝙚 𝙩𝙞𝙢𝙚𝙨."

“And put your trust in Allah, and sufficient is Allah as a Disposer of affairs.”
— [Surah Al-Ahzab, Ayah 3]

There is a beautiful peace that settles in the heart when you truly leave your matters to Allah — when you realise that no plan, no worry, no fear can overpower the wisdom of the One who created you. Tawakkul is not just trust; it is surrendering your burdens at His doorstep, knowing that what is written for you will find you, and what is not meant for you will pass you by, no matter how tightly you hold on.

Trusting Allah means believing that every delay has goodness, every loss hides mercy, and every unanswered prayer is a door to something far better than you imagined. So breathe. Let your restless heart find calm in His promise: He is enough for you. He always has been, and He always will be.

Change for the sake of change isn't 'change', and change which erodes your established principles is not change based on knowledge; but rather data & unprocessed information.

True knowledge does not 'change' the constants (correctly established principles) of a sincere person; but rather increases a person in faith, firmness to the truth, and faithfulness to Allah Almighty (positive change).

About this Allah Almighty says:

"And so those who were given knowledge may know that it is the truth from your Lord and [therefore] believe in it, and their hearts humbly submit to it. And indeed is Allah the Guide of those who have believed to a straight path".

Qur'an 22:54

As for unprocessed new learnings (data & information) that in turn erodes a person's correctly established principles; then this learning, in my humble view, is a fitnah and not a blessing.

There is a difference between knowledge that changes the human condition for the better, and unprocessed information that effects change, but for the worse.

Examples of this would include 'change' that makes one speak about the book of Allah without truth, or belittle and lay negative claim onto the respected scholars of the ummah, or even increase one in 'academic' arrogance.

The latter, sadly, can only be described as reprehensible 'change', or 'change' for the sake of 'change', and 'change' that occurs at the expense of breaking away from the framework of one's own correctly established principles.

You would have come across by now, or you will come across- calls to leave following the understanding of Islam by the majority of our established scholars of the past, for the understanding of a few people today whose continued guidance isn't guaranteed. They believe that their contentious teachings are the way forward today, and that the teachings of the scholars of the past have little bearing today. They believe that they can see further than the scholars of our history whilst forgetting that they only see anything today because they are standing on the shoulders of the giants of our past.

I ask you sincerely to resist those over-zealous calls, and urge you to stick to the established character and methodology of Islam as based on true knowledge, and laid down by our established scholars of the past; whose scholarship has been attested to across generations. I urge you to choose as your religious references today those scholars and students of knowledge who revere the knowledge of Islam since it's advent, and have the ability to apply the richness of our established tradition in a way that is both suitable today, and without the erosion of its heritage.

‘Abdullah ibn Mas‘ood (may Allah be pleased with him) said: “Whoever wants to follow a path, let him follow the path of the one who has died, for the living are not safe from fitnah. I mean the Companions of Muhammad (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him). They were the best of this ummah: the purest in heart, the deepest in knowledge and the most straightforward. Allah chose them to accompany His Prophet and establish His religion, so recognise their status and follow in their footsteps and adhere as much as you can to their example of conduct and attitude, for they followed true guidance.” (Jaami‘ Bayaan al-‘Ilm wa Fadluhu, 2/947.)

Adding to this; Ibn Taymiyah (may Allah have mercy on him) said: "It is very well known to anyone who ponders the Qur’an, Sunnah and the consensus of all groups among Ahl as-Sunnah wa’l-Jamaa‘ah that the best generations of this ummah – in deeds, words, beliefs and all other virtues – is the first generation, then those who came after them, then those who came after them, as is proven in more than one report; they are superior to the later generations in every virtue, be it knowledge, deeds, faith, reason, religious commitment, eloquence or worship. Their view of any problem is more deserving of being followed.
