VIRTUES OF RECITING SURAH KAHAF EVERY FRIDAY
Narrated by Ibn ‘Umar (RA):
The Prophet ﷺ said:
“Whoever recites Surah al-Kahf on the day of Jumu’ah, a light will shine for him from beneath his feet up to the clouds of the sky, which will shine for him on the Day of Resurrection, and he will be forgiven (the sins) between the two Fridays.”
— Reported by al-Bayhaqi in Shu‘ab al-Eemaan (2/474). Authenticated by Shaykh al-Albani in Silsilah al-Saheehah (no. 2459).
As per the above hadees only:
1- A light will be given
2- This light will also shine on the day of resurrection
3- All sins (minor) will be forgiven between the two Fridays
Other virtues (in other ahadees):
• Reciting/memorising first/last 10 ayahs protects from Dajjal.
• Recitation invites tranquility (sakeenah) and angels.
In this age of massive deception and fitnah, only a foolish person will avoid recitation of Surah Kahaf on Friday. When literally everything of this modern world is designed to extinguish our light and spiritual energy, we all need the light to shine. And we all need protection from the dajjali system and its isms and schisms.

“And put your trust in Allah, and sufficient is Allah as a Disposer of affairs.”
— [Surah Al-Ahzab, Ayah 3]
There is a beautiful peace that settles in the heart when you truly leave your matters to Allah — when you realise that no plan, no worry, no fear can overpower the wisdom of the One who created you. Tawakkul is not just trust; it is surrendering your burdens at His doorstep, knowing that what is written for you will find you, and what is not meant for you will pass you by, no matter how tightly you hold on.
Trusting Allah means believing that every delay has goodness, every loss hides mercy, and every unanswered prayer is a door to something far better than you imagined. So breathe. Let your restless heart find calm in His promise: He is enough for you. He always has been, and He always will be.

Change for the sake of change isn't 'change', and change which erodes your established principles is not change based on knowledge; but rather data & unprocessed information.
True knowledge does not 'change' the constants (correctly established principles) of a sincere person; but rather increases a person in faith, firmness to the truth, and faithfulness to Allah Almighty (positive change).
About this Allah Almighty says:
"And so those who were given knowledge may know that it is the truth from your Lord and [therefore] believe in it, and their hearts humbly submit to it. And indeed is Allah the Guide of those who have believed to a straight path".
Qur'an 22:54
As for unprocessed new learnings (data & information) that in turn erodes a person's correctly established principles; then this learning, in my humble view, is a fitnah and not a blessing.
There is a difference between knowledge that changes the human condition for the better, and unprocessed information that effects change, but for the worse.
Examples of this would include 'change' that makes one speak about the book of Allah without truth, or belittle and lay negative claim onto the respected scholars of the ummah, or even increase one in 'academic' arrogance.
The latter, sadly, can only be described as reprehensible 'change', or 'change' for the sake of 'change', and 'change' that occurs at the expense of breaking away from the framework of one's own correctly established principles.
You would have come across by now, or you will come across- calls to leave following the understanding of Islam by the majority of our established scholars of the past, for the understanding of a few people today whose continued guidance isn't guaranteed. They believe that their contentious teachings are the way forward today, and that the teachings of the scholars of the past have little bearing today. They believe that they can see further than the scholars of our history whilst forgetting that they only see anything today because they are standing on the shoulders of the giants of our past.
I ask you sincerely to resist those over-zealous calls, and urge you to stick to the established character and methodology of Islam as based on true knowledge, and laid down by our established scholars of the past; whose scholarship has been attested to across generations. I urge you to choose as your religious references today those scholars and students of knowledge who revere the knowledge of Islam since it's advent, and have the ability to apply the richness of our established tradition in a way that is both suitable today, and without the erosion of its heritage.
‘Abdullah ibn Mas‘ood (may Allah be pleased with him) said: “Whoever wants to follow a path, let him follow the path of the one who has died, for the living are not safe from fitnah. I mean the Companions of Muhammad (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him). They were the best of this ummah: the purest in heart, the deepest in knowledge and the most straightforward. Allah chose them to accompany His Prophet and establish His religion, so recognise their status and follow in their footsteps and adhere as much as you can to their example of conduct and attitude, for they followed true guidance.” (Jaami‘ Bayaan al-‘Ilm wa Fadluhu, 2/947.)
Adding to this; Ibn Taymiyah (may Allah have mercy on him) said: "It is very well known to anyone who ponders the Qur’an, Sunnah and the consensus of all groups among Ahl as-Sunnah wa’l-Jamaa‘ah that the best generations of this ummah – in deeds, words, beliefs and all other virtues – is the first generation, then those who came after them, then those who came after them, as is proven in more than one report; they are superior to the later generations in every virtue, be it knowledge, deeds, faith, reason, religious commitment, eloquence or worship. Their view of any problem is more deserving of being followed.

This cannot be denied except by the one who would refuse to accept that which is well known in the religion of Islam and whom Allah sends astray despite his knowledge, as ‘Abdullah ibn Mas‘ood (may Allah be pleased with him) said". (Majmoo‘ al-Fataawa, 4/157).
If you come across someone who belittles the eminence of the scholars of the past, and contradicts the view of the majority of the scholars of the ummah, especially the scholars of the first 3 generations of Islam; don't take such a person as your source of knowledge. Also; if you come across any fatwa today that helps you follow your desires and it goes against the view of the majority of the scholars of our ummah, all in the name of 'saving faith'; discard it. I say it confidently as a crisis of faith will always be in one following one's desires, and you owe it to yourself, and your faith to follow this advice, for life is too short to make it shorter through tinkering with falsehood.
Lastly- it is important that we all understand that 'saving faith' and 'true knowledge' is in following the directives of the Qur'an and Sunnah, and not in bending Islam to help people follow their desires, for Allah Almighty says:
"And know that among you is the Messenger of Allah . If he were to obey you in much of the matter, you would be in difficulty, but Allah has endeared to you the faith and has made it pleasing in your hearts and has made hateful to you disbelief, defiance and disobedience. Those are the [rightly] guided".
AlQur'an 49:7
Finally- I urge you all to raise your hands and supplicate for all of our scholars, the duaat and students of knowledge. Ask Allah sincerely to keep us steadfast so we can better serve the ummah for His sake alone, and ask Allah to return in a beautiful way those who have gone astray.

Umar ibn al-Khattab reported:
The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, ordered us to give charity and at the time I had some wealth.
I said to myself, “Today I will outdo Abu Bakr, if ever there were a day to outdo him.”
I went with half of my wealth to the Prophet and he said, “What have you left for your family?” I said, “The same amount.” Then, Abu Bakr came with everything he had.
The Prophet said, “O Abu Bakr, what have you left for your family?” Abu Bakr said, “Allah and his messenger.” I said, “By Allah, I will never do better than Abu Bakr.”

"Surrendering to Allâh’s Order and Accepting His Decree"
Imām Ibn al-Jawzi said:
No one is more foolish than he who deals with Allah based on worldly gain. What would then be the wisdom behind afflictions?
Nay! There is no escaping from things not going the way we want, neither for answers to questons to seize, or for the enemies to be spiteful at times.
He who expects to always be safe (salama) and victorious (nasr) over his enemy, and to be free (afiya)from afflictions (bala) is someone who does not understand duty, and does not comprehend the reality of surrender.
Was not the Messenger Muhammad (Sallallaahu Álayhi Wasallam) victorious in the battle of Badr, but later went through what he went through in the batde of Uhud? Was not he prevented from reaching the House, but then he was able to reach it?
Life must thus contain good and bad. Receiving good necessitates giving thanks (shukur) and receiving bad provokes begging (sawal) and praying (dua 🤲). If the prayer is not answered then it is surrender that is required. This is where true belief (iman) and the essence of men become apparent.
If a person surrenders from the inside and outside, then this is perfection (in servitude to Allâh Subhaanahu wata'ala). Yet, if a person feels pain inside because of the effect of Allâh's ’s Divine Decree (qadr) and not from the decree itself a person surely feels pain from things that harm him then this is indicative of a lack of knowledge.
Should a person begin to complain verbally, then this is how ignorant people behave.
And we seek refuge with Allâh Subhaanahu wata'ala from acting so.

YOUR YOUTH BEFORE YOUR OLD AGE
Youth is the prime time of one's life. Youth is the time when a human is no more a child but an adult (time of puberty and maximum strength). It is full of power, drive, desire and energy.
One of the things that most of us take for granted is our youthfulness. When we are young, we are full of energy and are capable of doing so many things for the sake of ALLĀH, but often we see that this energy is wasted in one way or another.
When we lose our youth, we inevitably find it harder to do those deeds and acts of worship that we found somewhat easier to do at a younger age. With old age, we find it harder to keep obligatory fasts, we may not be able perform wudhu properly or to pray properly, and we may not have the energy to recite the Qur'ān very often. ALLĀH says:
"ALLĀH is HE Who created you from a state of weakness then HE gave strength after weakness, then ordained weakness and white hair after strength" (30:54).
Worshipping ALLĀH in one's youth is a sign that ALLAAH intends good for the individual. The Prophet (ﷺ) spoke of the great virtue of a young man who grows up worshipping and obeying ALLĀH, and said that he will be shaded by ALLĀH on the Day of Resurrection, the Day when the sun would draw so close to the people that there would be left only a distance of one mile.
The Prophet (ﷺ) said: "There are seven whom ALLĀH will shade with HIS shade on the Day when there will be no shade but HIS …" among whom he mentioned, "...a young man who grew up worshipping ALLĀH." {Al-Bukhārī and Muslim}
It is also common to hear a category of young people claim that they will start 'practising' Islam when they get older. We should always be mindful of the fact that 'older' may never come round for us. And even if we are blessed with a long life, how can we be sure that we have the health – physical and mental – to practise Islam? ALLĀH says:
"And among you is he who is taken in ˹early˺ death, and among you is he who is returned to the most decrepit ˹old˺ age so that he may know nothing after having known much." (22:5).
The Prophet (ﷺ) said to a young Ibn 'Abbās: "Be mindful of ALLĀH and He will take care of you." {At-Tirmidhi #2516}
Ibn Rajab al-Hanbali said regarding this: "Whoever is mindful of ALLĀH when he is young and strong, ALLĀH will take care of him when he is old and has become weak, and will bless him with good hearing, eyesight, strength and reasoning. One of the scholars who lived beyond the age of one hundred years and enjoyed good strength and reasoning, jumped up in a lively manner one day and was asked about that. He said: 'I kept these physical faculties from sin when I was young and ALLĀH has preserved them for me now that I am old.'
The opposite also applies; one of the salaf saw an old man begging from people and said: 'This is a weak man who ignored ALLĀH when he was young, so ALLĀH is ignoring him now he has grown old.'" {Jāmi' al-Ulūm wal-Hikam. (1/186)}
Ibn al-Jawzī advised: "O youth! You are like a person traveling in the desert while possessing priceless jewels that he intends to sell in the land of reward, so beware of falling into the trap of your treacherous desire so you do not end up selling what you have for less than of what it is worth. Otherwise, when you reach your destination and see those who made great profits, you will cry for your loss and say, 'Oh how great is my regret over what I neglected in regard to ALLĀH.' However, regret shall never restore what has been missed."

We ask ALLĀH to grant us the understanding and make it easy for us to work towards the attainment of HIS utmost pleasure.
The Prophet (ﷺ) said: "There are seven whom ALLĀH will shade with HIS shade on the Day when there will be no shade but HIS …" among whom he mentioned, "...a young man who grew up worshipping ALLĀH." {Al-Bukhārī and Muslim}

An Encouragement To Carry On Good Deeds Even If Qiyāmah Is Seconds Away
قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم : إن قامت الساعة وفي يد أحدكم فسيلة ، فإن استطاع ألا تقوم حتى يغرسها فليغرسها
The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said: “If the final hour arrives and one of you has a palm-shoot in his hand but it is possible to plant it before the final hour is established, then plant it.”

Malik and Zayd ibn Thabit (رضي الله عنهم) related that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:
"For the ones whose concern is this world, Allah will scatter his affairs, place poverty between his two eyes and he will not get from the world except what is written for him. As for the one whose intention is the Hereafter, Allah will gather for him his affairs, place contentment in his heart and the world will come to him willingly."

Prevention is better than cure | How can we prevent another flooding, earthquake, tsunami, etc.?
Ibnul Qayyim rahimahullah said:
فصل: ومن عقوبات الذنوب أنها تزيل النعم وتحل النقم
Chapter: Among the ill effects of sins is that they remove blessings and lead to misfortunes
There is not a blessing upon a servant that ceases (to exist) except due to a sin, and there is not a misfortune that befalls him except due to a sin, just as 'Ali ibn Abi Taalib radhiyallahu 'anhu said:
(ما نزل بلاء إلا بذنب ولا رفع بلاء إلا بتوبة)
“No misfortune descends except due to a sin, and no misfortune is uplifted except with repentance.”
Allah the Almighty said:
{وَمَا أَصَابَكُم مِّن مُّصِيبَةٍ فَبِمَا كَسَبَتْ أَيْدِيكُمْ وَيَعْفُو عَن كَثِيرٍ}
“And whatever of misfortune befalls you, it is because of what your hands have earned. And He pardons much.”
[Surah Ash-Shûrâ: 30]
And He The Almighty said:
{ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّ اللَّهَ لَمْ يَكُ مُغَيِّرًا نِّعْمَةً أَنْعَمَهَا عَلَىٰ قَوْمٍ حَتَّىٰ يُغَيِّرُوا مَا بِأَنفُسِهِمْ}
“That is so because Allah will never change a blessing which He has bestowed on a people until they change what is in their ownselves.”
[Surah Al-Anfâl: 53]
So Allah the Most High mentions that He does not change the blessing that He bestowed upon a person until the person changes what is in himself; by replacing obedience of Allah with disobedience, gratitude to Him with ingratitude, and replacing the causes for His pleasure with the causes which draw His wrath. So when he changes, Allah changes (his state); a fitting recompense, and your Lord is not at all unjust to (His) slaves.
On the other hand, if he replaces disobedience with obedience, Allah changes his state (for the better); He replaces punishment with wellbeing and humiliation with honour.
[Al-Jawaabul Kaafi]
In Summary:
The people are more in need of reminding & repentance than they are of food handouts!
