The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said:

"Read Sūrah al-Baqara, for reciting it regularly is a blessing and forsaking it is a cause of regret, and the magicians cannot withstand it.”

Ibnul Qayyim rahimahullah said:

فصل: ومن عقوبات الذنوب أنها تزيل النعم وتحل النقم

Chapter: Among the ill effects of sins is that they remove blessings and lead to misfortunes

There is not a blessing upon a servant that ceases (to exist) except due to a sin, and there is not a misfortune that befalls him except due to a sin, just as 'Ali ibn Abi Taalib radhiyallahu 'anhu said:

(ما نزل بلاء إلا بذنب ولا رفع بلاء إلا بتوبة)

“No misfortune descends except due to a sin, and no misfortune is uplifted except with repentance.”

Allah the Almighty said:

{وَمَا أَصَابَكُم مِّن مُّصِيبَةٍ فَبِمَا كَسَبَتْ أَيْدِيكُمْ وَيَعْفُو عَن كَثِيرٍ}

“And whatever of misfortune befalls you, it is because of what your hands have earned. And He pardons much.”
[Surah Ash-Shûrâ: 30]

And He The Almighty said:

{ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّ اللَّهَ لَمْ يَكُ مُغَيِّرًا نِّعْمَةً أَنْعَمَهَا عَلَىٰ قَوْمٍ حَتَّىٰ يُغَيِّرُوا مَا بِأَنفُسِهِمْ}

“That is so because Allah will never change a blessing which He has bestowed on a people until they change what is in their ownselves.”
[Surah Al-Anfâl: 53]

So Allah the Most High mentions that He does not change the blessing that He bestowed upon a person until the person changes what is in himself; by replacing obedience of Allah with disobedience, gratitude to Him with ingratitude, and replacing the causes for His pleasure with the causes which draw His wrath. So when he changes, Allah changes (his state); a fitting recompense, and your Lord is not at all unjust to (His) slaves.

On the other hand, if he replaces disobedience with obedience, Allah changes his state (for the better); He replaces punishment with wellbeing and humiliation with honour.

In Summary:

The people are more in need of reminding & repentance than they are of food handouts!

Ibn al-Qayyim [رحمه الله] said: ❝The Friday prayer is from the greatest of congregations of the Muslims.❞

READING SURAH AL - KAHAF

Prophet ﷺ said: ❝Whoever reads Surah Al-Kahf on Fridays will be adorned with light from that Friday to the next."❞

Prophet ﷺ said: ❝Whoever recites Sūrat Al-Kahf as it was revealed, it will be a light for him on the Day of Resurrection.❞

Ibn al-Qayyim (d. 751 AH) said:

إِذَا طَلَعَ نَجْمُ ‌الْهِمَّةِ فِي ظَلَامِ لَيْلِ الْبَطَالَةِ، وَرَدِفَهُ قَمَرُ الْعَزِيمَةِ؛ أَشْرَقَتْ أَرْضُ الْقَلْبِ بِنُورِ رَبِّهَا.

"If the star of aspiration rises in the darkness of the night of idleness, and it is followed by the moon of resolve—then the land of the heart shines with the light of its Lord."

🗝 The heart of a young Muslim—though surrounded by temptations and distractions—can still shine with light from Allah when himmah (aspiration) is awakened and ʿazīmah (resolve) follows.

🎯 Raise youth to set high goals for the sake of Allah.
📖 Teach them maturity and discipline, not just dreams.
🛡 Protect their fitrah from the darkness of laziness, doubt, and low ambition.

💡 A soul illuminated by purpose and reliance on Allah can climb from idle comfort to peaks of meaning and service.

Let your sons and daughters reach for the stars—with hearts anchored in Islamic knowledge and resolve rooted in tawakkul.

Masrūq (a senior Tābi'ī) رحمه الله said:

“As long as a man's heart remembers Allāh then he's in prayer even if he's in the market.”

[شعب الإيمان ٦٧٨]

Giving Someone Credit (Tazkiyah):

A man bore witness to ‘Umar Ibn Al-Khattaab so ‘Umar said to him: “I do not know you, but it does not matter that I do not know you. Bring me someone who does know you.”

A man among the peole said: “I know him.” ‘Umar asked: “What do you know about him?” He said: “He is of good character and is virtuous.”

‘Umar asked: “Is he your neighbour who you know by night and by day, and you know when he comes in and goes out?” The man said: “No.”

‘Umar asked: “Did he have any financial dealings with you which is the way to know whether he is God-fearing or not?” The man said: “No.”

‘Umar then asked: “Has he been your companion on a journey, which is the best way to know whether he is of noble character and attitude?” The man said: “No.”

So ‘Umar said: “Then you do not know him.”

Ibn al-Qayyim رحمه الله:

‎”When the veil has been lifted on the day of judgement revealing the value of good deeds for the people they'll not see any action better in reward than the remembrance of Allāh (Dhikr).

At that time a group of people who'll sigh because they missed out and say:

There was nothing easier for us than dhikr and yet we did not do it.”

📝📌Mu'adh Ibn Jabal (may ALLĀH be pleased with him) said:

"Ahead of you are times of trials in which there will be much wealth and in which the Qur'an will be opened and taken (read) by believers and hypocrites, men and women, young and old and freemen and slaves. At that time it is likely that there will be people who will say, 'Why aren't the people following me when I have read the Qur'an? They will not follow me until I invent something else.' So, beware of everything that is innovated ˹in religion˺, for those things that are innovated are misguidance."

RECITING SURAH FATIHA AND PAUSING AFTER EACH VERSE.

This is an abandoned if not a lost Sunnah today. Most imams do not adhere to this Sunnah. They start by pausing and it gathers momentum and there are many variations to this which does not alighn with the Sunnah.

Pausing after every verse (Ayah) of Surah Al-Fatiha is a Sunnah that Shaykh Muhammad Nasir-ud-deen al-Albani (rahimahullah d. 1420 AH) emphasized and revived, as it is seen as a dialogue between the worshiper and Allah Azzawajal. This practice is supported by a hadith Qudsi where Allah states He has divided Al-Fatiha between Himself and the servant, with each part having a designated response.

Hadith 8, 40 Hadith Qudsi. On the authority of Abu Hurayrah (radiAllahuanhu) from the Prophet (ﷺ), who said: Allah (mighty and sublime be He), had said: I have divided prayer between Myself and My servant into two halves, and My servant shall have what he has asked for.

■ When the servant says: Al-hamdu lillahi rabbi l-alamin (3), Allah (mighty and sublime be He) says: My servant has praised Me.

■ And when he says: Ar-rahmani r-rahim (4), Allah (mighty and sublime be He) says: My servant has extolled Me, and

■ When he says: Maliki yawmi d-din (5), Allah says: My servant has glorified Me - and on one occasion He said: My servant has submitted to My power.

■ And when he says: Iyyaka na budu wa iyyaka nasta in (6), He says: This is between Me and My servant, and My servant shall have what he has asked for.

■ And when he says: Ihdina s-sirata l- mustaqim, siratal ladhina an amta alayhim ghayril-maghdubi alayhim wa la d-dallin (7), He says: This is for My servant, and My servant shall have what he has asked for.

(1) Surat al-Fatihah, the first surah (chapter) of the Qur'an. (2) i.e. standing behind the imam (leader) listening to him reciting al-Fatihah. (3) "Praise be to Allah, Lord of the Worlds." (4) "The Merciful, the Compassionate". (5) "Master of the Day of Judgement". (6) "It is You we worship and it is You we ask for help". (7) "Guide us to the straight path, the path of those upon whom You have bestowed favors, not of those against whom You are angry, nor of those who are astray". It was related by Muslim (also by Malik, at-Tirmidhi, Abu-Dawud, an-Nasa'i and Ibn Majah).

Why pause? It's a Sunnah: The Prophet of Allah (sallallaahu alayhiwa sallam) paused after each verse, a practice that is encouraged to revive. It's a Dialogue: The recitation of Al-Fatiha is understood as a conversation between the worshiper and Allah. Pausing helps to separate the verses, creating a distinct interaction with each one. Hadith Qudsi: This divine narration explains the nature of the connection between the verses of Al-Fatiha and the worshiper's relationship with Allah.

How to pause: After each verse: When reciting Al-Fatiha, take a brief pause after completing each verse, as described in the Sunnah.
For collective prayer: In congregational prayer, this practice should be followed, allowing for the interaction to occur. The pause is to catch your breath and to value the connection with Allah.

What happens during the pause: The worshiper reflects on the meaning of the verse.The act of pausing creates a beautiful interaction with Allah.

YOUR CONDITION IN THE GRAVE.

How to identify what your state will be like in the grave (Barzakh)?

The great scholar of Islam and student of Ibn Taymiyyah (rahimahullah d. 728AH) Ibn al-Qayyim (rahimahullah d. 751AH) said:

❝The state of a person in the grave will be like the state of the heart in the chest; in bliss or facing punishment, imprisoned or roaming freely. If you want to know what your state in the grave will be like, then look at the state of your heart in your chest.

If the your heart is filled with joy and tranquility, and is pure (clean from pride, envy and other evils) - then by the Will of Allaah, the same will be your state in the grave. And it's opposite is also true.

This is why you find that a person - who is obedient (to Allaah), and has good manners (with the creation), and who is forgiving (and kind) - to be the most tranquil (and at rest).

Faith takes away distress, removes grief, and it (Faith) is the coolness of the eyes of the one upon Tawheed (monotheism), and (the means of) comfort for the worshipers.

■ Whoever is preoccupied with Tasbeeh (saying: Sub-haan Allah), his private affairs will be taken care of.

■ And whoever is preoccupied with al-Hamd (saying: Alhamdulillaah), he will be given bounties one after the other.

■ And whoever is preoccupied with al-Istighfaar (saying Astaghfirullah), the locked (doors) will be opened for him.❞

2 Interesting Palindromes in the Qur'an

A palindrome is a 'word', 'number', 'phrase', which reads the same backward as forward.

1- The Qur'an states:
كل في فلك
"Each gliding in an orbit." (21:33).
These are the letters in that sentence: (ك ل ف ي ف ل ك)
They read the same from left to right & right to left.

2- The Qur'an states:
ربك فكبر
"And magnify your Lord." (74:3).
These are the letters in that sentence: (ر ب ك ف ك ب ر)
They also read the same, from left to right & right to left.

What makes this even more interesting is that our Prophet could not read or write and the Qur'an was orally transmitted by him to mankind.

𝗘𝗮𝗿𝗻 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗕𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀: 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗧𝗮𝗾𝘄𝗮̄

When a man sets out for trade, he should have taqwā of Allāh and seek out what has been decreed for him only in the ḥalāl things. If he seeks wealth through non-ḥalāl things, he still will not be able to obtain more than the amount that has been decreed for him to have.

[Hishām (رحمه اللّٰه) reported words of Muḥammad (ibn Sīrīn) (رحمه اللّٰه); Abū Bakr al-Marwazī (رحمه اللّٰه), al-Waraʿ 1/76, 231]

Whenever you find yourself in a difficult situation, whether financial, emotional, physical, etc. always always turn to ALLAH ‎ﷻ first through Dua and worship, for he alone is capable of solving all your affairs in an instant, if he wills ﷻ.

Abdullah Ibn Massoud رضي الله عنه narrated that the Prophet ‎ﷺ said:

“Whoever falls into a troubled, difficult situation and seeks the help of the people, his difficult situation shall not end.

And whoever falls into a troubled difficult situation and seeks the help of ALLAH ‎ﷻ, Allah will send provisions to him, sooner or later.”

Sahih Al-Jami’: 6566

Ibrahim waited decades for a child.
Musa waited years in exile.
Yusuf waited in prison.
Yaqub waited with blind eyes.
Ayyub waited through pain.
Nuh waited a lifetime.
Their waiting wasn’t wasted.
Waiting is one of the quietest forms of ‘ibadah - because even in silence, you’re saying: “I trust Allah.”

And when the wait ended, Allah rewarded them beyond imagination.

“Beware of thinking that the time of a trial or test is long, or becoming fed up with making duʿāʾ often. For you (mankind) are tested with trials and as a slave of Allāh the Almighty you should preserve with patience and keep calling upon your Lord, and despair not from the relief of Allāh, even if the time of the test is long.”

[Ṣayd al-Ḵẖāṭr (1/439)]

« فَإِيَّاكَ إِيَّاكِ أَنْ تَسْتَطِيلَ زَمَانُ البَلَاءِ ، وَتُضْجِرُ مِنْ كَثْرَةِ الدُّعَاءِ ، فَإِنَّكَ مُبْتَلًى ، بِالبَلَاءِ مُتعبَّدٌ بالصَّبر والدُّعاء ، وَلَا تَيْأَسُ مِنْ رَوِح اللهُ ، وَإِنْ طَالَ البَلَاءُ ».

Health is a blessing almost all healthy people take for granted.

"Health is a crown that the healthy wear, but only the sick can see."

May Allah grant us good health and gratitude, ameen.

A wise old man was sitting at the river bank when he saw a cat that had fallen into the water, flailing around, trying to save itself from drowning.

The man decided to save the cat. He stretched his hand out but was scratched by the cat. He pulled his hand back in pain.

However, a minute later he stretched his hand out again to save the cat, but it scratched him again, and again he pulled his hand back in pain.

Another minute later he was yet again trying for the third time!!

A man, who was nearby watching what was happening, yelled out: "O wise man, you have not learned your lesson the first time, nor the second time, and now you are trying to save the cat a third time?"

The wise man paid no heed to that man's scolding, and kept on trying until he managed to save the cat.

He then walked over to the man, and patted his shoulder saying: "My son.. it is in the cat's nature to scratch, and it is in my nature to love and have sympathy. Why do you want me to let the cat's nature overcome mine !?!!

My son: Treat people according to your nature, not according to theirs, no matter what they are like and no matter how numerous are their actions that harm you and cause you hurt sometimes.

And do not pay heed to all the voices that loudly call out to you to leave behind your good qualities merely because the other party is not deserving of your noble actions.

When you live to give happiness to others, Allah Ta'ala will send you those who will live to give happiness to you.

"Is the reward for good anything but good?" -55:60

Be beautiful in character and hearts will love you.

So never regret the moments you gave happiness to someone, even if that person did not deserve it.

And suffice in the fact that you have a Lord Who will reward you for good with good.

“The entire Deen is (about) good character, so whoever exceeds you in good character, has exceeded you in the Deen.”

‼️MAN IN THIS WORLD‼️

Ibn al-Qayyim (may ALLĀH have mercy on him)

‼️The slave has three states

The first state is his condition where he is nothing, and this is before he exists.

‼️The last state is from the time of his death until the state that has no end, the eternal life. After the soul exits the body it will have its presence either in Paradise or the Hellfire; then it will be returned to its body for recompense according to its actions. It will then reside in one of these two abodes - Paradise or the Hellfire - for eternity.

‼️ The second state is between these two, which is from the time he exists until he dies. This is the state that lies in the middle and consists of the days of his life. Therefore, look at the time man spends in this middle state compared to the first and last states, and you will notice man's years in this world are less than the blink of an eye. Those who are able to view the world like this will not cling to it; and they will not care how their days pass by, whether they have difficulty and restricted means or ease and luxury."
