'Abdullah bin 'Amr bin Al-'As (May Allah be pleased with them) reported:

The Prophet {ﷺ} said, "The one who was devoted to the Qur'an will be told on the Day of Resurrection: 'Recite and ascend (in ranks) as you used to recite when you were in the world. Your rank will be at the last Ayah you recite."'

How difficult is it to attain khushoo in salah?

#SignsOfTheHour

The Messenger صلى الله عليه وسلم said:

“The very first thing to be raised from this Ummah is Khushoo (awe, fear of Allaah) until there is not a single person in it with khushoo.”

[Saheeh al-Jaami` (2569) and graded as “Saheeh” by Shaikh al-Albaanee]

“Khushoo’ in prayer happens when a person empties his heart for it (prayer), and focuses on it to the exlusion of all else, and prefers it to everything else. Only then does he find comfort and joy in it, as the Prophet (sw) said: ‘… and my joy has been made in salaah.’” ( Ahmad, 3/128 Saheeh al-Jaami’, 3124).

Allaah has mentioned al-khaashi’eena wa’l-khaashi’aat (men and women who are humble (before their Lord)), and described this quality as one of the qualities of those who are chosen. He tells us that He has prepared for them forgiveness and a great reward (i.e., Paradise). [See al-Ahzaab 33:35].

There’s a part in Surah Kahf that we read but never ponder over 🤔

It’s where Khidr عليه السلام destroys a boat by cutting a hole in it. This boat belongs to a poor family who need it for their livelihood, to fish and to travel. Musa عليه السلام doesn’t understand why. He asks Khidr عليه السلام why he destroyed that boat? What did they ever do to him for him to treat them so harshly? Put yourself in that poor families shoes. Imagine you are them with a boat & it gets destroyed. You wonder to Allah, why? I need this grade, this promotion, this job, this spouse. I need this du’a to be answered. How can you destroy my boat Allah? Why not take the boat of those who are ungrateful? Or who sin without caring? Did i not worship You enough? Did I not pray my Salah? Did I not fast?

But Musa عليه السلام didn’t know there was an oppressive King — if that boat hadn’t been destroyed, the King would’ve taken it leaving no means of livelihood for the poor people. Allah, in His infinite love, mercy and Wisdom knew a broken boat would be of no use to a King, and so he wouldn’t have been interested, but the poor family could fix this boat and use it once again.

Your boat may also be broken. It may not make sense to you right now. You cannot see the oppressive King, you cannot see what Allah is protecting you and I from.

All you see is what is broken in front of you. But know that Allah will help you fix it. He will help you find a way. Look beyond the destroyed boat. You are loved by Allah. So so loved by Allah. And just as how a child doesn’t understand why his mother won’t let him have a fizzy drink for breakfast, remember that Allah loves you more than a mother loves her child.

Continue making du’a and finding new doors to walk through. He will never allow your deeds, effort and your du’as to ever be lost or wasted.

Al-'Allamah Muhammad bin Salih al-'Uthaymeen رحمه الله mentioned,

The best of the people are those who initiate the greeting of Salām and the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم who is the most noble of all creation, would initiate the Salām to whomever he met. So be eager to be the one who initiates the Salām before your companion, even if he is younger than you, because the best of the people are those who initiate giving the Salām and the one who is most deserving of Allah's mercy is the one who initiates the Salām.

So would you like to be the most deserving of Allah's mercy? We all like that, so initiate giving Salām to the people.

“Hearts have conditions — strange conditions.

At times, the heart becomes attached to the world (dunyā). At times, it becomes attached to something from the world.

At times, it becomes attached to wealth, and wealth becomes its greatest concern. At times, it becomes attached to women, and women become its greatest concern.

At times, it becomes attached to palaces & houses,& that becomes its greatest concern. At times, it becomes attached to vehicles and cars, and that becomes its greatest concern. At times, the heart is always with Allah, with Allah, attached to Allah, the Exalted, seeing that whole world is merely a means to worship & obey Allah.

Therefore, we must all review our hearts, every hour, every moment.

O heart, where have you turned? Where have you gone? Why do you turn away from Allah? Why do you look right & left? But we seek refuge with Allah from the accursed Satan, for Satan runs through the human being like flow of blood.”

The ruling on Nasheeds

Sheikh al Fawzan حفظه الله said,

The statement, “I listen to nasheeds as an alternative to music”, is like the one who says, “I wash urine with urine.”

[At Taleeq ala Ighaathatul Lahfaan 26/5/1437]

Iman Shafi رحمه الله said,

"Thagbir (Nasheed) were created by heretics to distance people away from the Quran."

[مجموع الفتاوى لإبن تيمية ١١ \ ٥٣٢ ]

Sheikh al Fawzan حفظه الله said,

“There's no such thing as islamic nasheed, this is the innovation of sufisms, it is not permissible to promote them."

[مجلة الدعوة ١٦٣٢]

Which is more severe as a sin: listening to Singing or listening to Nasheed?

Ahmad an Najmi رحمه الله said,

“Indeed, songs are disobedience and the one who persists in listening to them is a fasiq (sinner) while anashid are innovations and the one who persists in them is a mubtadi (innovator). And the fasiq is less evil than the mubtadi...”

[Al Fatawa al Jaliyyah Vl. 1]

Ibn Uthaymîn رحمه اللّٰه said,

“Nasheed is an innovation. It imitates what the Sufis innovated in the religion."

From Al-Hasan Al-Basari who said:

❝Indeed the believer in this Dunyaa is like a stranger, he does not surrender to the humiliation of the Dunyaa, nor does he compete with the people of the Dunyaa for the honour of this Dunyaa.

The people according to him are relaxing, while his soul according to himself is busy [with the Hereafter]. As a result Toobah [a tree in Paradise] is for the slave of Allaah who earns goodness and submits a virtuous action for a day when he will be poor and in need. [i.e. the Day of Judgment].❞

Anas bin Malik رضى الله عنه reported:
“The Paradise is surrounded by hardships and the Hell-Fire is surrounded by temptations”

“The scholars said:
This beautiful analogy is from the exquisite, eloquent and comprehensive speech which was bestowed on the prophet (ﷺ). It means that nothing will help you to reach al-Jannah except going through hardships, and nothing will lead you to the Hell-fire except whims and desires. Both are veiled as described, so whoever tears down the veil will reach what is hidden behind it. So the veil of al-Jannah is torn down by going through hardships, and the veil of the Hell-fire is torn down by giving in to whims and desires. And hardships include striving in ‘ibaadah (worship) and persevering upon that, and sabr in the face of hardships, and restraining one’s anger, forgiving and having long-suffering (hilm), giving voluntary charity, having ihsaan (excellent behavior) with those who mistreat you, having sabr against desires, and so on.
And regarding the desires which surround the Hell-fire, and then it is clear that they are the forbidden desires such as intoxicants (khamr), illicit sexual relations (zinaa), gazing at non-mahram women, gossiping, playing musical instruments and so on...”

Some people think that because they are performing more acts of worship or adhering to the Sunnah more strictly, they are better than others.

But this is ignorance and arrogance. What matters to Allah is sincerity and humility — not self-admiration.

The Sad Reality!
𝗨𝗻𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗰 𝗛𝗼𝗽𝗲𝘀

Abu al-'Āliyah (رحمه اللّٰه) — A Tabi’ee (a student of the Sahaba, (رضي اللّٰه عنهم), said:

There will come a time when people's chests will be empty of the Qur'ān. They will find neither sweetness nor satisfaction with it.

If they do not live up to that which they were commanded to do they will say:
“Indeed Allāh is forgiving and merciful.”

And if they do those things they were forbidden from they will say:
“He will forgive us because we did not associate any partners with him”

Everything for them is based on avarice, not honesty.

As salaamu alaikum wa rahmatuallahi wa barakatu

Good morning

Morning reminder to myself first than you...

In Islam, one of the greatest duties upon the believers is to enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong. Allah ﷻ says:

"You are the best nation produced [as an example] for mankind. You enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong and believe in Allah."
[Surah Āl ʿImrān 3:110]

Yet today, we see people promoting behaviors and lifestyles that clearly oppose the Qur’an and Sunnah — justifying sin, normalizing indecency, and mocking those who hold firm to the truth.

Know that silence in the face of falsehood is not safety; it is a test. The Prophet ﷺ said:

“By the One in Whose Hand is my soul, you will enjoin good and forbid evil, or Allah will soon send upon you a punishment from Him, then you will call upon Him and He will not respond to you.”
[Tirmidhi, 2169]

So stand firm upon the truth with wisdom, gentleness, and sincerity — even if the world calls you “strict” or “backward.” What matters is being pleasing to Allah, not to the people.

Hold tight to the Qur’an and Sunnah.
Let not the noise of the world drown out the call of guidance.

May Allah Guide us All upon what is correct...

امين

A man came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, “I draw water from my basin until I fill it for my family, and then a camel belonging to someone else comes to me and I give it water to drink. Do I have a reward for this?” The Prophet said, “In every living being with a warm liver is a reward for charity.”
