Question:
"Is photographing or video filming permissible? Is it permissible to watch television, especially for the news?"
Answer:
"It is not permissible to take photographs of animate beings using cameras or other means of photographing machines, or to keep pictures of animate beings, except for necessity, such as photographs used in identification documents or passports.
As far as television sets are concerned, the ruling does not relate to the machine itself as much as it relates to the purposes for which it is used. If it is used in Haram (prohibited) matters, such as showing erotic songs and nude scenes, distorting facts, promoting sensuality and the like, then it is Haram. On the other hand, if it is used to promote goodness, such as showing reciters of the Qur'an, clarifying the truth, propagating virtues and preventing vices, and the like, then it is permissible. It should be taken into consideration that if television is used for both purposes, or mostly used for unlawful purposes, then it is emphatically Haram.
May Allah grant us success! May peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and Companions!"

♻️The bad character of the Salafis turns me away from this Minhaj! Advice from Shaykh Ahmad Bazmool♻️
🔗🔘Question: Some of the people say: ‘I believe that Salafiyah is the truth, but the manners of the Salafis, chases me away from this Minhaj.🔘
💢Shaykh Ahmad Bazmool: Okay, the answer to this question is with a number of points:
📌The first point: Did you embrace Islam, and follow the Salafi Minhaj for the sake of the people or for the sake of Allah? (You did so) for the sake of Allah the Exalted. You followed His religion and you seek the reward from Him—the Glorified and Exalted. You are not seeking a reward from the people; if the people err then stay away from their errors. The believer who mixes with the people and is patient with their harms is better than the one who does not mix with the people. This is the first point.
📌The second point: If you find with your brothers mistakes, infractions, and bad manners, and they are Salafis; then you advise them and clarify to them and be diligent in guiding them.
📌The third point: By Allah, your Salafi brothers and their bad manners which you complain about; by Allah, they are better than the Hizbis whom you deem to have good manners.
📌The fourth point: The Salafi with his manners has a higher status than the Hizbi with good manners; because the Hizbi is lowly and debased due to his hizbiyah and his opposition to the truth.
📌The fifth point: We say to you my brother, Shaytan—when it comes to the Salafis—he is diligent upon trying to cause disorder and harm amongst them, and to corrupt their character, so don’t be a victim for Shaytan, allowing him to use you against your Salafi brothers. And also Shaytan is far away from these Hizbis because Shaytan does not go to a ruined house. As it was said by some of the Salafi—and I believe it was Al-Awzaai or other than him—he said: Ahlus Sunnah have with them some loneliness or alienation. Why? He said: Shaytan comes to them and he tries to mislead them, and he tries to turn the people away from them. As for the innovators; they have repose and serenity, such that Shaytan is able to trap the people with them. So beware, beware of being deceived by their calmness and good manners, such that you fall into their traps; for verily it is poisonous and it is destruction. Beware of fleeing from the truth due to some alienation of some bad interaction which you find from your brothers.
And furthermore; Allah forbid you should experience the likes of some of this, but if you are patient, seeking a reward from Allah, then your reward is with Allah. Therefore pay attention to these affairs; may Allah bless you.

“When some people asked Imaam Ahmad bin Hanbal that they felt uneasy about criticizing people, he replied: “If I were to remain silent, how would the ignorant masses know the truth from falsehood?” Those who introduce heretical writings which oppose the Qur’aan and the Sunnah and those who innovate in matters of worship, then it is obligatory that they be exposed and that the Muslims be warned against them – by unanimous agreement of the Muslims Scholars. In fact, when Imaam Ahmad bin Hanbal was asked about a person who fasted, preyed and secluded himself in the mosque for worship; if he was dearer to him than a person who spoke out against ahlul-bid’ah (the innovators), he replied: “When he fasts and prays and secludes himself, then he does so for the benefit of his own self. However, when he speaks out against the innovators, he does so for the benefit of the Muslims in general, and this is more virtuous.”

Are you one who seeks marriage? Finding it hard in the worldly part of it? You know the luxury, lavish and money stuff.
Read on if you please (and if you want something to use to convince your parents to go on the Islamic view of marriage)
_____
Sharing this story because as much as I get marriage related questions on my inbox, I get it also in real life. May Allah make it easy for each and everyone of us. Ameen
Since most of those are financial/money related queries, regarding the mahr or anything related to the expensive wedding stuff. Here’s a story that would make you realize how a believer should be in regards to money to his family.
______
Muslim Ibn Sabih Kufi says that he heard his father saying, “Mughira Ibn Sho’ba RA and an arab youth both sent proposal for marriage to a woman at the same time. That Arab youth was quite handsome and beautiful as compared to Mughira Ibn Sho’ba RA. The woman replied to the proposals to both of them saying, “You both have sought to marry me. I cannot give a final verdict to any of you till I meet and talk to you both. Therefore, if any of you wants to marry me, he must come to me at such and such time so that I can reach a conclusion and select my life partner.”
Upon receiving the message, both the men went to meet the woman. She made them sit at a place where she could not see them but hear both of them.
Mughira RA got impressed when he witnessed the Arab’s youngster’s beautiful body, excellent youthfulness, good shape and soft-speech, losing hope of any success in the presence of such a competitor. He told himself not to pin any hope as every woman wanted a handsome, beautiful and attractive husband, and his competitor possessed all such qualities which he did not. He thought to himself, “When the woman will see me, she will definitely select the Arab youth, and I will only face defeat.”
Mughira RA was thinking all this as he suddenly asked the Arab youngster, “Brother, you have been gifted with beauty and soft-speech. Do you have any other qualities?” The youngster boasted, “Why not, I have such and such qualities.” Thus he mentioned several qualities, counting them on his fingers. Then he fell silent.
Mughira RA asked, “Okay, tell me how do you conduct your financial dealings?” The youngster replied, “It is excellent, I do not miscalculate even a single penny as I minutely maitain my accounts in detail.”
Now, Mughira RA began to say about himself, “But I am different from you. I leave an unattended pouch containing thousands of dirhams in a corner of my house. My family members continue to spend as much as they require from this pouch and I do not know how much money has been spent and how much is left behind. I come to know of the exhaustion of the money only when they demand more from me.”
The woman was attentively listening to the conversation between the two candidates. When she listened to what Mughira RA was saying she said, “I swear by Allah! This man deserves the most to marry me, and is more acceptable to me as he will not torment me while getting confused with his finances, and I do not like this Arab youth who will hold me accountable for every penny.”
Afterwards, the woman married Mughira Ibn Sho’ba Radiyallahu Anhu.

Subhan’Allah, let this story reach families who are so keen on the financial stuff in marriages, sisters who are so keen on the physical attributes of their suitors and brothers who are so worried with their finances that they live as if they do not want to part from their worldly gains.
Let us take a moment and understand that Mughira RA makes his family spend out for charity and spend what is just needed for them, as let us remember that his family are also practising Muslims who abide to the rules and regulations accordingly to Islam.
Remember that the Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wassalaam said that “Without a doubt, when a Muslim spends money on his family while considering (the action as worship), it is an act of charity”. [Ahmad, Bukhari and Muslim]

Spending for the sake of Allah should be so sincere that the left hand doesnt know how much the right hand has given and vice versa, for all that they intend is to spend for the sake of Allah, and indeed Allah said in a Hadith Qudsi that Spend on charity, O son of Adam and I will spend on you.
But spending too much in weddings is wasting too much money, when such big amount of money can be given to charity, let us all think twice on how we should spend what we have earned or gained for such actions will be for sure asked by Allah on the Day Promised.
My dear brothers and sisters, take a moment and reflect from this story. Ponder hard.

Tawakkul or Fatalism:
Umar Bin Khattaab (Radiy'Allahu'anhu) heard the Messenger of Allah (Sal'Allahu alaihi'wa'sallam) saying, “If you trust Allah with the right kind of Tawakkul, He will provide you sustenance as He provides for the birds – they go out in the morning with empty stomachs and come back in the evening with full stomachs.” [Tirmidhi]
A bird sitting in its nest, praising Allah (subhana wa ta’ala), will not have its stomach filled. It has to go out to seek food. It is only the bird that after glorifying Allah (subhana wa ta’ala) goes out and makes an effort to find food, that comes back full.
Belief in Allah's qada and qadar does not preclude action.
Umar (Radiy'Allah'anhu) asked a group of people sitting around: “Who are you?” They replied: “We are resigned to the will of Allah and have placed our trust (made Tawakkul) in Him.” These people refused to bother with trying to earn a living using Tawakkul as an excuse. Umar (Radiy'Allah'anhu) hit them and told them not to twist the concept of Tawakkul. He said, “You lie! Such a person is resigned to the will of Allah who sows the seed and then places his trust in Him. It is not Tawakkul to sit with idle hands. Gold and silver do not descend from the sky.”
Should one have tawwakul and not take the means?
Ibn al-Qayyim (Rahimahullah) said: This does not contradict tawaakul (putting one’s trust in Allaah), just as warding off hunger, thirst, heat and cold does not contradict tawakkul. The essence of tawaakul is not complete without resorting to the means which Allaah has set out in order for us to achieve results both according to His decree (qadr) and His laws (shar’). Not using these means is contrary to tawaakul: it goes against and undermines the command and wisdom of Allaah, although the one who neglects the means may think that this makes his tawakkul stronger. Ignoring the means is a sign of helplessness that goes against the true essence of tawakkul, which is that the heart relies on Allaah to bring the slave whatever will benefit him in this world and the next, and to protect him from whatever may harm him in this world and the next. But along with this reliance, it is essential to take the appropriate means, otherwise he will be going against the wisdom and command of Allah. Helplessness should not be taken as a sign of tawaakul, nor should tawakkul make a person helpless.
