Sh. Ibn Bāz Raḥimahullāh:

“Some people say: 'Dunyā was made because of Muḥammad (Ṣallallāhu-'Alaihi Wa Sallam), had it not been for Muḥammad (Ṣallallāhu-'Alaihi Wa Sallam), neither Dunyā nor mankind would be created', this is FALSEHOOD which has NO BASIS (from Kitāb or Sunnah) and this is CORRUPT SPEECH, Allāh created Dunyā and mankind to be aware of His Names and Attributes and His Ability and His Knowledge and to worship Him, He is alone and has no partners and to obey Him, NOT because of Muḥammad (Ṣallallāhu-'Alaihi Wa Sallam) or Nooḥ or Moosā or Eesā or any other Prophet ('Alaihim-us-Salām).”

خليك متفائل - Be optimistic

Optimism is the attitude of a believer (Mo'min)

The Prophet ﷺ said, "Strange is the affair of the Mo'min (the believer), verily all his affairs are good for him. If something pleasing befalls him he thanks (Allah) and it becomes better for him. And if something harmful befalls him he is patient (Sabir) and it becomes better for him. And this is only for the Mo'min." [Muslim]

The Believer is always optimistic regardless of the situation. Because he believes Allah is in control and Allah can change things around in a second.

The Believer is always optimistic... always...regardless ! Because you believe that anything happens in this world Allah is in control of it and He permitted it to happen for a wisdom.

Holding Birthday Parties

Q: Some of our Muslim brethren hold birthday parties for themselves and their children, what is the ruling on such festivals?

A: The basic principle regarding acts of Ibadah (worship) is that they are Tawqifiy (bound by a religious text and not amenable to personal opinion), and as such, no one is allowed to worship Allah in a way other than which He ordained, because the Prophet (peace be upon him) said in the Sahih (authentic) Hadith:

Anyone who introduces anything into this matter of ours (Islam) that is not part of it will have it rejected. [1]

He (peace be upon him) also said:

Anyone who does an action which is not in accordance with this matter of ours (Islam) will have it rejected. [2]

Birthday parties are an act of Bid’ah (innovation in religion) that should not be done for any person, regardless of their rank or role in life.

The most honorable of all creation and the best of all Messengers (peace be upon them), i.e. Muhammad ibn ‘Abdullah (peace be upon him) was never reported to have held a festival for the day he was born, or even instructed his Ummah (nation based on one creed) to celebrate it.

Similarly, the best of this Ummah after its Prophet (peace be upon him) are the Rightly-Guided Caliphs and the Sahabah (Companions of the Prophet), but none of them is reported to have made a festival for the Prophet’s birthday, or for any of them (may Allah be pleased with them), and all goodness is to be found in following their pathand patterning oneself after the teachings of the Prophet (peace be upon him).

Moreover, such Bid`ah pave the way to imitate the Jews, Christians and other Kafirs (non-Muslims) in terms of their newly invented festivals. Allah is the One sought for help!

May Allah grant us success! May peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and Companions!

4 years and 1400 years!

They were admonished when only 4 years had passed and we feel safe even after 1400 years have passed. Indeed this is the sign of our foolishness.

Allaah تعالى said:

❝{Has not the time yet come for the believers that their hearts should be humble for the remembrance of Allaah and that which has been revealed of the truth, lest they become as those who received the Scripture before, and the term was prolonged for them and so their hearts were hardened And many of them were rebellious.}❞
📚 [Surah al-Hadeed (57): 16]

Narrated `Abdullaah ibn Mas`ood: ❝Since our acceptance of Islaam and the revelation of this Aayah in which Allaah has shown annoyance to us: {Has not the time yet come for the believers that their hearts should be humble for the remembrance of Allaah?} there was a gap of four years.❞
📚 [Saheeh Muslim]

Know, Allaah have Mercy on you, this is `Abdullaah ibn Mas`ood رضي الله عنه - he was among the first 6 people to embrace Islaam, and one of the most knowledgable Sahaabee on the Tafseer of Qur’aan - who said that only four years had passed after his embracing Islaam when Allaah تعالى revealed this Aayah of Surah al-Hadeed. The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم was still with them and they were admonished by Allaah.

But look at our affairs. It is now more than fourteen hundred (1400) years since this Aayah was revealed. It is now more than fourteen hundred (1400) years since the Prophet’s death. We are in need of more admonition than them.

In this age of fitan (trials) where:

🚫 one fitnah is being replaced by an even greater one;

🚫 where knowledge and scholars are decreasing;

🚫 where ignorant and ignorance have become widespread;

🚫 where one reads a few books and believes he has become a scholar;

🚫 where one reads a few books on `Aqeedah and thinks that he is safe from committing shirk;

🚫 where one does only a few good deeds and considers himself amongst the people of Paradise;

🚫 where one, time and again, commits major crimes and still feels safe from the punishment of Hell.

Allaahul musta`aan.

🔟REASON TO DEVELOP LOVE OF ALLAH.

Imām Ibn al-Qayyim (raḥimahullāh) said:

”The reason which cause the maḥabbah (love of Allāh) to develop are ten:

1⃣Firstly: Reciting the Qurʾān, reflecting upon it and understanding its meanings.

2⃣Secondly: Drawing closer to Allāh through the performance of optional deeds, after fulfilling the obligatory deeds.

3⃣Thirdly: Being continuous in the dhikr (remembrance) of Allāh - in all circumstances - with the tongue, the heart and the limbs. The more constant the dhikr, the more maḥabbah intensifies.

4⃣Fourthly: Giving precedence to what Allāh loves - when being overcome with desires - over what one personally loves and desires.

5⃣Fifthly: Causing the heart to contemplate over the Names and Attributes of Allāh. Being a witness to what they necessitate and causing the heart to be enlightened in the garden of this realisation.

Sixthly: Witnessing the blessing and the favours of Allāh; the apparent and the hidden.

7⃣Seventhly: Subduing the heart and humbling it before Allāh, causing it to be in awe of Him.

8⃣Eighthly: Being in seclusion during the time in which Allāh descends to the lowest Heaven; reciting the Qurʾān, and finishing this recitation with seeking Allāh's forgiveness and sincerely repenting to Him.

9⃣Ninthly:Sitting in the gatherings of the sincere and true lovers of Allāh; reaping the benefits of their teachings, and not speaking except when you know there is benefit in doing so and that such speech will increase you in good and benefit others as well.

🔟Tenthly: Keeping clear from all those matters which will cause the heart to distance itself from Allāh - the Mighty and Majestic.
So these are ten matters which cause the lover to reach the station of true love for Allāh, so that he may then reach Allāh - his Beloved."

That is purer for your hearts and their hearts – Shaykh Salih al-Fawzan Hafidahullah

“And when you ask them (i.e. Prophet’s wives) for something, then ask them from behind a veil (Hijaab).” [Surah Al-Ahzaab: 53]

Even though the ones intended by this verse were the wives of the Prophet, the verse is general. So the wording in the verse is specific for the Prophet’s wives, while its meaning is universal for all women since the Prophet’s wives are the role-models for the believing women. Allaah explains this thoroughly in His next statement, where He says:

ذَلِكُمْ أَطْهَرُ لِقُلُوبِكُمْ وَقُلُوبِهِنَّ

“That is purer for your hearts and their hearts.” [Surah Al-Ahzaab: 53]

Allaah ordered that the women be asked from behind a Hijaab. What is meant by the word Hijaab is: Anything that covers a woman whether a garment, a wall, a door or any other object that can be used to screen a woman from a man when he is talking to her or asking her about something or handing her something. All of these should be done from behind a Hijaab, i.e. from behind a screen or covering. So he should not make any contact with her while she is unscreened or lacking covering and exposed. Rather, she must be behind a screen that covers her, regardless if it is her garment, her door, a wall or so on. This is since this is “purer for your hearts and their hearts” from temptation. If women screen themselves by way of a Hijaab and the gaze of men does not fall upon them, the hearts of both the men and women will be saved from temptation and enticement. This is clearly visible in the Muslim societies that strictly adhere to the Hijaab.

A society that strictly adheres to the Hijaab is preserved from the corruption of morals. In fact, it is the lack of Hijaab that results in immorality and the temptation of men’s desires. Therefore Allaah’s saying: “That is purer for your hearts and their hearts” contains a basis that is universal for the whole ummah since the Hijaab consists of a purification of the hearts for both men and women in an equal manner. It blocks all the pathways that lead to the corruption of morals.
