Veiled Sisters Uploading their Pictures on the Internet
Shaykh Haamid ibn Al Khamis Al Junaibee
Question:
A questioner from France says: As Salaamu 'alaikum, jazakaAllahu khairan, O Shaykh. What is your view concerning the woman who places her picture wearing niqab, even though her face is covered, on the internet forums and other places? Keeping in mind, this is a fitna for the young men. May Allah bless you.
Shaykh Haamid ibn Al Khamis Al Junaibee:
You know, I don’t know—Subana Allah—some of the women, what do they want from this? What do they want by uploading these pictures, even those who upload their pictures in which they are wearing niqab, or a woman with her face covered, what does she want from this?
This is not done by someone with insight and wisdom and this is evidence of an ignorant way of thinking. What benefit is gained by uploading a picture of a woman wearing niqab, for example? And the evil is greater if she uploads a picture of herself. It is as though she is saying to them: “Look at me,” whether she is wearing niqab or not; along with the beautification or the eyes and other than that.
I say My general advice to the women: Fear Allah O women, those who enter the internet forums and internet websites, and the social networking sites such as twitter and the other websites. Fear Allah. Whether addressing the men, or chatting with the men, uploading pictures, and going to great lengths in this matter. This is a great door to evil, the magnitude of it is only known to Allah.
And Allah knows the situation of these affairs based on these forums and websites, from the abundance of evil that occurs from some of the people due to these affairs; whether it is by the private messages, or by connecting through other means, or by sending emails, or other than that from the means that some men use to catch women.
And sometimes it occurs between a man who is religiously committed and a woman who is religiously committed. Fear Allah O daughters of the Muslims!!
By Allah, surely I know specific people, I know specific people, and I do not say this from the standpoint of mentioning stories and tales, but rather from the standpoint of inciting fear and alarm, this is the standpoint I am coming from. A woman and a man fell into fornication. Both of them were students of knowledge, both of them were students of knowledge. I know them specifically. We ask Allah for safety and security.
Thus beware, beware—may Allah bless you—beware beware! The person must stay far away from the doors of evil and he must make an escape from them; fleeing.
Whoever needs to connect with someone, whether it is for marriage, or engagement, the connection should occur from the females, from your family, your relatives, from this method. And do not open this door upon yourself! Because this door is a door of evil, such that if it is open it is not about to close except with great evil. We seek refuge in Allah. We ask Allah for safety and security.

⏩ The Ruling on Benefiting From Discounts Offerred by Stores at the end of the Gregorian Calender – Shaikh Sulaymaan ar-Ruhayli
Question : Regarding the discounts that are offered now by some big stores?
Answer : “There is no harm for a Muslim to benefit from these discounts at the beginning of the new year. This is because he does not celebrate and this is not a festival. However, its a benefit given at this time. So he is allowed to benefit from it, especially since we know from an economic perspective that these discounts are not based on celebrating the New Year’s. Rather it is built upon eleminating the inventory and [balancing] the budget at the end of the year. So the company gets rid of what is still present [in the inventory]. In most cases, what remains is only profit. The companies lower the cost to get rid of the present [ inventory]. The discounts begin one month and half before the end of the year because the companies base their budgets on the fiscal year. So from an economic perspective, it has no relation to celebrating Christmas. If they did this for Christmas, then it would not harm a Muslim who does not celebrate with them because this is not from the signs of the festival. It is only an action performed on the day of the festival. There is a difference between what is done for a festival and what is done on the day of the festival.
Also from that is what is given to the Muslim employees in the non-Muslim lands in terms of discount cards, which are used on Christmas or the New Year’s. Their companies give them gifts, which are discount cards from the company. It is allowed for a Muslim to use it on that day because that day is not from the signs of the festival. Rather it is something done on the festival. So there is no harm for a Muslim to benefit from this”.

Fanaticism is divided into two categories:
1- Fanaticism towards personalities: For example, the Christians towards ʿĪsāʾ ibn Maryam. Likewise, the fanaticism of the Shīʿah towards ʿAlī ibn Abī Ṭālib and his descendants etc.
2- Fanaticism towards ideologies: This is more dangerous than the previous type of fanaticism because fanaticism towards personalities only destroys the fanatic, but fanaticism towards ideologies destroys the religion, societies, countries and nations. It destroys everything. This is like the fanaticism of the corrupt Khawārij terrorists. If their ideology is found with a people then they become corrupt because they cause corruption and claim rectification. They ruin whilst claiming to be gaining closeness to Allāh, killing innocent souls and spilling sacred blood, all the while claiming "jihād" in the path of Allāh.

BEHIND Every SUCCESSFUL MAN Is A MOTHER !
Shaykh ‘Abdullaah ‘Azzaam said:
“Mothers play a great role in building a generation. The better a mother is at raising her children, the more successfully the Ummah is built and the more successful it is at producing heroes. You hardly ever see a great man except that a great woman is behind him who left some of her traits in his personality by way of the milk from which he was fed and the warm embrace in which he sought refuge.
Most men find it hard to remove these shining images from their minds that they retain of their mothers. These outstanding images that ran through his veins from a young age remain engraved in his mind, and he cannot help but to remember them with veneration and pride. He recalls the simple, clear words that his mother left his spirit with, and these words grow to become milestones in his path and guiding lights on his quest.
He cannot help but to place himself under the vast shade that his mother provided for him throughout the long course of his life, nurtured by the pleasant emotions and mixed with the eternal days of his life. These realities grow in his spirit and become an inseparable part of his personality that he cannot let go of without letting go of his humanity.”

Shaykh al-Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah (rahimahullaah) stated as occurs in Majmu' al-Fatawa (7/487):
The texts of the Book and the Sunnah have indicated that the punishment (due) for sins can be removed from the servant by around ten causes.
The first: Repentance, and this is agreed upon amongst the Muslims.
The second cause: Seeking forgiveness.
The third cause: Good deeds which wipe out (evil deeds).
The fourth cause: That which repels punishment, the supplication of the believers for a believer, such as praying over his funeral.
The fifth cause: What is done for the dead of righteous deeds such as charity and its likes.
The sixth cause: The intercession of the Prophet (sallallaahu alayhi wasallam) and others for the sinners on the Day of Judgement.
The seventh cause: Calamities by which Allaah expiates sins in the life of this world.
The eighth cause: What occurs in the grave of tribulation, compression and fear.
The ninth cause: The terrors of the Day of Judgement and the severity of its hardships.
The tenth: The mercy of Allaah, His pardon and forgiveness without any reason (necessitating that) from the servant.
Comment -
Note that three affairs come from a servant himself (repentance, seeking forgiveness, good deeds). Three affairs come from other than the servant (supplication, deeds of others which reach the dead and intercession). And three affairs are from the calamities (of life, the barzakh and the day of judgement) that expiate the sins. And after these nine matters, there is left but the pure mercy of Allaah, the Mighty and Majestic. In this is a refutation of the Kharijites who hold a person who dies with major sins (not having repented) is a disbeliever in the Fire forever, since expiation of sins can take place through other than repentance and seeking forgiveness, and exhausting those other means (which come from other than the servant himself), there still remains the pure mercy of Allaah, the Exalted. And this in itself indicates the great mercy of Allaah, the Sublime and Exalted in that He did not restrict and limit the causes of forgiveness to the servant himself.

THE TWO MEANS TO STEADFASTNESS IS IKHLAS AND SIDQ!
Shaykh Al-Allaamah Rabee ibn Hadee al-Mudkhalee (hafithahuAllah)
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ
Question: We find many people today turning back on their Deen (religion), or weakening in the Deen once they have entered it with strength. Can you give us some guidelines that will help a person to remain steadfast upon the Deen?
Answer: The Shaykh replies by saying: Bismillaah al-humdulilallaah wa salatul salam ana rasoolilaah, in answering this question I say that the trials and tribulations in this present times are many, and also in previous times there have been many, but particularly in this time there are many (trials and tribulations).
And from the strongest causes for steadfastness in this Deen, or in this time is firstly that this person must be true with sincerity to the religion of Allaah Subhana wata Aala.
And he should have strength and a strong will to follow the truth, this along side turning to Allaah Subhana wata Aala.
Turning to Him and asking Him Subhana wata Aala not to cause his heart to slip and follow falsehood, as Allaah mentions in the Qur'aan, the Du'a the Messenger of Allaah (sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam) use to say: “Oh our lord do not cause our hearts to go stray after you have guided them, and grant us guidance from yourself.” (1)
And the Messenger of Allaah (sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam) us to say in many of his Du'a’s: “Oh turner of the hearts, make my heart firm upon your religion.” (2)
And also the Messenger Allaah (sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam) told us that: “the hearts are between the two fingers of Ar-Rahmaan, He turns them as he pleases.” (3)
So if this the Shaykh says, if this is the case then we should turn back to Allaah Subhana wata Aala, asking Him that He guides our hearts with steadfastness in His religion, in this true religion of Allaah Subhana wata Aala.
And if a person shows sincerity and he is true to this Deen and true to Allaah and sincere to him, then more often than not he is guided to remain upon the truth.
And if Allaah Subhana wata Aala decides to lead one of his servants astray then nothing would be able to come in front of its way, if Allaah chooses this for somebody, even if every person in the Heavens and Earth came in front of it to stop it, they would not be able to do it.
It is He Subhana wata Aala who guides whoever he wills and leads astray whoever He pleases.
But having belief in this qadar or having belief in qadar benefits a person in this situation, along side that we mentioned previously, that a Muslim should have Iklaas and truth in his religion, and should be true and sincere to Allaah Subhana wata Aala.
Trying his hardest to remain upon that until he dies, as Allaah Subhana wata Aala says in the Qur'aan: “…and die except in a state of Islaam.” (4)
This person or nobody can guarantee for himself when he is going to die, and if he is going to die upon Islaam.
But out of His Mercy Subhana wata Aala and His kindness to His servants, if He sees that they are sincere and true in His religion, then Insha'Allaah He will cause them to die upon Islaam.
And as for that person who is weak in His religion and he is not strong in his Iklaas and sincerity, then more often than not, this person puts himself in a situation where he turns back upon the truth.
And the Shaykh mentions the verse in the Qur’aan: “And if he receives some good, then he is happy about that, but when fitnah or trial comes to him he turns back on his face, losing this world and the hereafter, this is the great lost.” (5)
So these people they follow with their whims, they follow after the dunya, and their whims cause them to follow their own desires and own feelings, these people are greatly feared from straying away from the correct path.
So I advise myself as I advise the Muslims, as I advise the youth and specially those amongst them who have been guided to the Salafi way.
And Allaah has granted them that they are upon the correct Manhaj, and that they strive there hardest to stay firm upon that which Allaah has

And Allaah has granted them that they are upon the correct Manhaj, and that they strive there hardest to stay firm upon that which Allaah has
guided them of the truth.
And in times of trials and fitnah they turn to Allaah Subhana wata Aala, and they are also holding fast with their molars to the truth that they have learnt.
As the messenger Allaah (sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam) said: “And whoever lives long amongst you will see many trials, so hold fast to my Sunnah and the Sunnah of the Rightly Guided khaleefah’s, hold fast to it and grip on to it with your molar teeth, and be warned of those newly invented matters, because every newly invented matter are a innovation, and every innovation is a misguidance.” (6)
The Shaykh says, so people should not follow, should not be taken astray by opinions of people, how many people have we seen or how many people when the dunya is presented to them, when worldly matters are presented to them, or beautified opinions are presented to them, they get taken in and lead astray by their emotions.
And the way out of that is that a person is true to Allaah Subhana wata Aala, and he shows an enthusiasm
and a true will to know the truth, and that he stays firm in times of trials and he does not run behind every word, every beautified speech, running behind it and being fooled by it as done by many people.
Allaah mentions in the Qur’aan: “The devils of the Jinn and the devils of Mankind, they past to each other beautiful speech in order to fool the people.” (7)
May Allaah Subhana wata Aala protect us from following these types of beautified speeches of the Shaya’teen and their plots and plans, so return to Allaah Subhana wata Aala, and don’t run after these beautified types of speech, May Allaah protect us and grant us the ability to follow the truth Insha’Allaah.
End of the Shaykh’s speech.

Imam Al-Qurtubee writes in his Tafsir:
“Malik Ibn Dinar said: “If the dunya consisted of temporary gold, and the hereafter of eternal sand, then a smart person should choose the eternal sand and ignore the temporary gold!” I say: Well, then how difficult can our choice realy be, when we know that the dunya consists of temporary sand and the hereafter consists of eternal gold?”

The Sunnah of not cheating or lying during trade/business dealings or falsely taking an oath for the same
Muslim (102) also narrated from Abu Hurayrah (may Allaah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: "Whoever cheats (or deceives) does not belong to me."
And "There are three to whom Allah will not speak on the Day of Resurrection, or will He look at them, or sanctify them, and theirs will be a painful torment: Abu Dharr said:" May they be lost and doomed: He said: "The one who drags his Izar (below the ankles) the one who sells his product by means of false oaths, and the one who reminds others (Al-Mannan) of what he has given to them" (i.e recounts his favors )

Luqmaan adviced his son:
“O my son! The dunya is a deep ocean in which many have drowned! Let your ship be taqwallah (fear of Allah), and load your ship with imaan-bellah (believe in Allah), and let her sail be tawakkal on Allaah! Hopefully you will survive then”.
