Shaykh ul-Islaam Ibn Taymîyyah رحمه الله said:
“Music is forbidden according to all of the four Imaams.”

[al-Minhaj 3/442]

Sheikh Uthaymeen [رحمه الله]:
"If you see your brother debating and disputing when the truth is clear and he does not want to follow it, you should flee from him in the same way as you flee from a lion. Tell him that you have nothing more than that to say to him, and let him be."

[Sharh Hilyah Talib-ul-‘Ilm, Page 28]

Ibnul Qayyim رحمه الله said:
“Singing [and music] is worse and more harmful than stories of emperors, because it directs [one] to adultery and fornication and it is the fountainhead of hypocrisy. It is the snare of the Shaytaan, and it intoxicates the intellect, Its obstructing (people) from the Qur’aan is worse than any way in which other types of phony speech blocks them, because the souls of people lean towards [sounds like this] and have the desire to listen to it.”

[Ighaathatul-Lahfaan’,1/258-259]

Ibn Rajaab said:
"People started singing about alcohol & other sinful activities therefore the sahaba took a firm stance against music."

[Fat-h, Volume: 6, Page: 77]

Ibn Mas'ūd رضي الله عنه said:
"Music breeds hypocrisy in the heart just as water causes vegetation."

[Igātha al-Lahfān 1/225-268]

Imām ash-Shafi'ī [رحمه الله] said: "Whosoever listens to music, then he is an idiot (سفيه) whose testimony is to be rejected."
[الأم للشافعي (٦\٢٠٩)]

Imam Ahmed Bin Hanbal [رحمه الله] was asked about ghinaa’ (singing/music). So, he said:
"Music causes hypocrisy to sprout/grow in the heart"

[Al-Mughni of Ibn Qudaamah, (12/42)]

Ibn al-Uthaymîn: "Nasheed is an innovation. It imitates what the Sufis innovated in the religion."

[Tandheem Al-Ikhwaani al-Muslimeen, Page 139]

Shaykh al-Fawzān حفظه الله: "Nasheeds are not Islamic. They are like music. They should be shunned and not sold."

[Al-Khutab Al-Mimbariyyah 3/184]

Shaykh Sālih al-Fawzān حفظه الله: "Nasheeds are from the signs of the Soofis and Hizbis."

[Fatawaa Ala Hawaa - 05/05/34]

Shaykh al-Albanî [رحمه الله]: "Nasheeds may be performed in the manner of songs & performed like the customs of western music."

[Tahreem Alaat al-Tarb]

Shaykh al-Albanî [رحمه الله]: "This is a new mistake, and imitation of the non-muslims and immoral people."
[Ibid]

Shaykh 'Abdul Muhsin al-'Abbaad said,
"A person should spend his time with what will give him good in return in this life and the life after this. Let him occupy himself with remembrance of Allaah, read the Qur'aan and beneficial books. Moreover, it is also fine to listen to beneficial poetry which urges to noble character and good adab. But as for these Anasheed which are listened to in these times, and which are sung in choirs to thereafter be recorded and sold, one should neither listen to them nor care about them (i.e one should ignore them)."

[al-Qawl al-Mufeed fee Hukm-il-Anaasheed, Page 70]

Imām Shāfi'ī [رحمه الله] said:
"Thagbīr (Anāshīd) were created by heretics to distance people away from the Qur`ān."

[مجموع الفتاوى لإبن تيمية ١١\٥٣٢]

Sh. Sālih al-Fawzān حفظه الله said:
"There's no such thing as 'islamic nashīd', this is the innovation of sūfīs, it is not permissible to promote them."

🔹BOYFRIENDS & GIRLFRIENDS IN ISLAAM – SHAYKH AL-UTHAYMEEN
(رحمه الله تعالى)

▪️Q: What is the ruling on a man and woman who kiss, and do everything else other than intercourse?

▫️A: These actions which you mentioned are impermissible, haraam upon them, because Allah – the Most High – says:

And those who guard their chastity (i.e. private parts, from illegal sexual acts) except from their wives or that their right hands possess, for then, they are free from blame, but whoever seeks beyond that, then those are the transgressors;
Al-Muminoon 5-7

And his statement – The One free from deficiency, the Most High:

And come not near to the unlawful sexual intercourse. Verily, it is a Fahishah [i.e. anything that transgresses its limits (a great sin)], and an evil way (that leads one to Hell unless Allah forgives him).
Al-Israa 32

And he did not say, and do not fornicate, for the reason of tackling everything that is a cause and leads to fornication, and this, what they are doing, is zina of the hand by touching, zina of the eye by looking, zina of the feet by walking (to do that which is haraam), this is impermissible for them, upon them is to repent from it.

And upon those in responsibility is to educate them and dissuade them from the likes of these actions, and avert them from this sin.

The Messenger of Allah (sallallaahu alaihi wa sallam) did not prohibit being alone with a strange woman (one who it is not permissible to be alone with) except fearing from this action and its likes.

So you, may Allah give you success, advise them, with that which is upon you, and warn them from this, the impermissiblity of this is clear and is present in the books of tafseer, books of hadeeth, books of fiqh, all of them, and it is not allowed and it is impermissible.

Imaam Ibnul Qayyim (rahimahullaah) said: Supplication are of three types.

The first type: Is that you ask Allaah through His Names and Attributes, and this is one of the explanations of the Ayah:

وَلِلَّهِ ٱلۡأَسۡمَآءُ ٱلۡحُسۡنَىٰ فَٱدۡعُوهُ بِہَا‌ۖ

”And (all) the Most Beautiful Names belong to Allah , so call on Him by them.” [Al-A’raaf: Ayah 180]

The second type: Is that you ask Allaah due to your need and poverty, so you say: ”I am a Faqeer slave (i.e. a poor slave who does not even have enough to meet his basic needs; I am a miskeen (i.e. one who does not have enough to fulfill some of his needs); I am an insignificant one; I am a seeker of help and so on.

The Third type: Is that you ask Allaah for your need without using one of the two types (i.e. without using the wording in the first and second types of supplication; rather you only say for example: O Allaah give me such and such etc).

The first type is more perfect than the second and the second is more perfect than the third. And if a supplication combines all three types, then it is most perfect.

*Dissolving kidney stones*

Shaykhul Islam Ibnul Qayyim:

"…and if it (black seed) is powdered and mixed with honey, then drank with hot water, it will dissolve the stones that are in the kidney and urinary tracts. It also eases the passing of urine, menstrual blood and breast milk if it is regularly drank for days".

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:

“You will follow the ways of those who came before you, handspan by handspan and cubit-length by cubit-length so muchso that if they enter into a lizard’s burrow, you would surely enterit!” So it was said, “Do you mean the Jews and Christians?” Hesaid, “Who else?!”

#Saying "good luck", "bad luck"

Fatwas of the Permanent Committee

Manners of talking and choosing of words > Ruling on using some words > Saying "good luck", "bad luck". Group 1 > Volume 26: Miscellaneous Fatwas 3

The first question of Fatwa no. 21699

Q 1: I want to know the ruling on the following frequently said phrases:

1. Bad luck and good luck.

A: First: It is Haram (prohibited) to use the expressions: (luckily/fortunately) and (unluckily/unfortunately), because they are attributing the occurrence of good or adverse events to luck (fortune), which has no control over anything and is not the cause for good or ill fate. Allah (Exalted be He) says: Surely, His is the Creation and Commandment. [7:54]

If the sayer of this thinks that such fortunes act by themselves, without the intervention of Allah, this is major Shirk (associating others with Allah in His Divinity or worship). However, if they think that everything is subject to Allah’s Decree Alone and they have only verbally said it, then it falls under polytheistic words, which conflicts with the obligation to have perfect Tawhid (belief in the Oneness of Allah). The basic ruling concerning this is the Hadith reported by Muslim in his "Sahih (Book of Authentic Hadith)", that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said, “There is no ‘Adwa (contagion, disease transmission naturally by itself not by the Decree of Allah), nor is there Hamah (pre-Islamic superstitious belief that the bones of a dead person turn into an owl), nor is there Naw’ (stars bringing rain), nor is there Safar (the month of Safar was believed to bring bad luck during pre-Islamic time).” [Saheeh Bukhari, Book on Medicine, No 5771……..(find full ahadeeth ref on link)]

Also, it was authentically reported in the two Sahih (authentic) Books of Hadith (Al-Bukhari and Muslim) on the authority of Zayd ibn Khalid Al-Juhany (may Allah be pleased with him), who said, “The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) led us in the Subh (Dawn) Prayer at Al-Hudaybiyyah after a rainfall during the night. When the Prophet (peace be upon him) had finished praying, he faced the people and said, ‘Do you know what your Lord has said?’ They replied, ‘Allah and His Messenger know best.’ He said, ‘Some of My slaves have entered the morning as Mu’min (believers) in Me and (others) as Kafirs (disbelievers). Those who said, ‘We had rain by the Bounty of Allah and His Mercy,’ are believers in Me and disbelievers in the stars; and those who said, ‘We had rain by such-and-such a star,’ are disbelievers in Me and believers in the stars.’” [Saheeh Bukhari, Book on Friday, No. 1038………..(find full ahadeeth ref on link)]]

The Prophet (sallallahu Allahyi wa sallam ) said "If a servant of Allah is afflicted with a misfortune and says:
‘Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un, Allahumma ajirni fi musibati wa akhlif li khairan minha‘

(Verily we belong to Allah and truly to Him shall we return. O Allah! Protect me in this calamity that has befallen me and replace it with something better),

Allah will accept his prayer, grant him reward for his affliction, and replace it with something better.”

Think Before You Speak

Al-Imaam ash-Shafi’ee rahimahullaah:

"When a person intends to speak, then upon him is to think before he speaks. Then if it is evident that there is some benefit then he may speak. However, if there is doubt then do not speak, until it becomes clear (about whether it is beneficial or not)"

رسائل الجوالات ومحاذيرها

🖋 _By Ash-Shaikh Dr. Saalih Al-Fawzaan_ {حفظه الله}

All praise is due to Allaah, and may prayers of blessing and peace be upon our Prophet, Muhammad, and whoever supports him and follows his guidance.

*To proceed:*

Indeed the question has increased regarding what has been reported in cellphone messages (i.e. text messages) of admonitions that contain various types of Thikr (words of remembrance of Allaah) done in different methods, and in a number of specific ways, and at specified times. These messages also contain an encouragement to others to read them, and distribute them among friends and companions. The messages also mention that they should be distributed to such-and-such number of people from one’s companions, and whoever does so will attain an abundance of great rewards and goodness in this life and the hereafter, and whoever does not distribute them will have a tremendous sin upon him, and punishment in this life and the hereafter. So from this there has spread a superstitious dream of the Shaikh Ahmad, the carrier of the keys to the room of the Prophet (sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam).

And in facing this it is obligatory that we alert the people that receiving these messages, and acting according to them, and distributing them, and circulating them; all of that is from the matter of spreading falsehood, and distributing superstitions, and cooperating with the people of superstitions and the liars. Therefore, it is incumbent upon everyone who these messages reach to reject them ( i.e. recognize them as lies) and warn against them, and warn against their writers – those who are behind them. For verily they are enemies of the Sunnah, and enemies of the Ummah (the Muslim nation). And though they may hide behind the cellphones, they are never hidden from Allaah, the Most High.

* Ruling on saying Good morning/ evening *

Thereafter (after starting with the Salaam) he may says; ‘Good morning’, ‘may Allâh give you a good morning’, ‘may Allâh give you a good evening’, ‘how are you’, ‘how are your children’, ‘how is your family’, (this is) a good added greeting. However he starts by saying; ‘Assalâmu alaykum and that is the minimum. And if he added ‘wa rahmatu Allâh wa barakâtuh’ then that is better.
