❝Upon you is to stick to the narrations and beware of opinion.❞

[Reported By al-Harawee In Thamm al-Kalaam Wa Ahlihi, (2/262, No. 331) | Translated By Abū Ruqayyah 'Abd us-Samad]
The Root meaning of the word God

The earliest written form of the Germanic word God (always, in this usage, capitalized) comes from the 6th century Christian Codex Argenteus. The English word itself is derived from the Proto-Germanic * ǥuđan. Most linguists[who?] agree that the reconstructed Proto-Indo-European form * ǵhu-tó-m was based on the root * ǵhau(ə)-, which meant either "to call" or "to invoke". The Germanic words for God were originally neuter—applying to both genders—but during the process of the Christianization of the Germanic peoples from their indigenous Germanic paganism, the word became a masculine syntactic form.
Abu Nu’aim reported: Maymun ibn Mihran said,

“Whoever commits evil in secret, then let him repent in secret. Whoever commits evil in public, then let him repent in public. Verily, Allaah will forgive him and He will not condemn him, but people will condemn him and they will not forgive him.”

Acting upon knowledge:

Imaam Ahmad placed over 40,000 hadeeths in his book, because he acted upon them all, saying: “I have not left a single hadeeth but that I acted upon it.” When he read that the Prophet ﷺ was cupped and that he gave the cupper 1 Deenaar; he said: “I went and had cupping done and gave the cupper a Dinar.” A Dinar is 4.25 grams of gold.
Indeed bad behaviour spoils good actions, just as vinegar spoils honey.’

The Doors to Sin Are Opened by Thoughts of the Mind 🚪

From the famous book, 'ad-daa wad-dawaa' of Ibn al-Qayyim (raḥimahullāh)

Know that reflective thoughts are not themselves harmful; rather what becomes harmful are constant (obsessive) ponderings. A thought about something is like a passer-by, if you do not call him, he will pass you by and go upon his way. However, if you call him, he will dupe and deceive you by his speech, and this is the easiest thing to do for the nafs that is filled with falsehood. However, it is the most difficult thing to bear for the nafs that is contended.

Allāh has placed in all of mankind two kinds of nafs:

1-Nafs Amaarah (the soul that commands evil)

2- Nafs Mutma’innah (the soul that is content).

They always oppose each other, so what is sweet for one is bitter for the other. There is nothing more difficult for the soul that commands evil than to go against its desires by working for Allāh’s pleasure, however, this is the most beneficial thing for it. Likewise, there is nothing more difficult for the soul that is content than to work for other than the pleasure of Allāh.

Every person has both a Nafs Mutma’innah and a Nafs Amaarah. Additionally, there is an angel on the right side (of every person) and it works in conjunction with the Nafs Mutma’innah.

Likewise, on the left side (of every person), there is a Shayṭān that works in conjunction with the Nafs Amaarah, and there is a constant, ongoing struggle between the two and it does not cease until this person’s appointed time in this life ceases.

Falsehood always sides with the Shayṭān and the Nafs Amaarah, whereas the truth always sides with the angels and the Nafs Mutma’innah, and the victor alternates.

However, victory comes with patience and whoever remains patient and has taqwá (fear and consciousness) of Allāh, then he will be granted the upperhand in this life and in the next. This is the law of Allāh that never changes.

🚫 Making fun of others 🚫

"The person who makes fun of others is oftentimes worse than them. To make fun of people only springs from a heart that is full of bad character."

-As-Sa'di (Rahimahullah)
(Taysir-ul-Karim, p. 801)
Sh. Ibn al-'Uthaymeen Raḥimahullāh: "If a person shames or mocks his brother for a fault, perhaps Allāh will have mercy upon him and cure him, and then afterwards afflict the mocker with that fault."

These Two Can Never Be Separated

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy ”Verily! Allah will not change the good condition of a people as long as they do not change their state of goodness themselves (by committing sins and by being ungrateful and disobedient to Allah)”. [Soorah Ar-Ra’d: Ayah: 11]

Ibnul Jawzee (rahimahullaah) said: Whoever loves that the state of affairs should become rectified then let him strive in rectifying (his) deeds. Allaah (Azza Wal-Jal) said: ”If they had believed in Allah, and went on the Right Way, We should surely have bestowed on them water (rain) in abundance.” [Soorah Jinn: Ayah: Ayah: 16]

‘Abdullâh Ibn Mas’ood said:

“WOMEN ARE BUT AN 'AWRAH (something PRIVATE to be COVERED). A woman might leave her house without there being any problem with her, but the Shaytân seeks her out and says [to her], “You will not pass by anyone except that you will impress/please him.” A woman puts on her clothes and is asked where she is going, to which she replies, “To visit a sick person,” or “to attend a funeral”, or “to pray in the masjid”; but a woman never worships Allâh in the way she does when she worships Him in her house.”

Shaykh Bin Baz [رحمه الله] said:

Hypocrisy Today...

Hudhayfah b. Al-Yamān – Allāh be pleased with him – said:

The munāfiqūn (hypocrites) amongst you today are worse than those in the time of Allāh’s Messenger – Allāh’s praise and peace be upon him.

He was asked, “How is that o Abū ‘Abdillāh”?
He replied:
Because those [in the time of the Prophet] used to hide their nifāq (hypocrisy), whereas the hypocrites of today commit [hypocrisy] openly.

Al-Bukhārī, Al-Sahīh hadith 7113.
THE MAJORITY WILL NEVER BE A PROOF...

Shaykh Muhammad Ibn ‘Abdul-Wahhāb, ( ﺭﺣﻤﻪ ﺍﻟﻠًﻪ ) said:

“If Islām returns to be {something strange} just as it began {as mentioned in the Hadīth}, then how ignorant is he who uses the majority of the people as a proof.”

‼️RUINED IS HE WHOSE RELIGION IS RUINED‼️

🎓It is reported that Jundub Al-Bajali رضي الله عنه was once asked for advice.

📌He said: I advise you to fear Allah and obey Him (have Taqwa) and I advise you to adhere to the Qur'aan, for it is a light in the dark night and a guidance during the day, so implement it no matter how much struggle and poverty you have to face.

If a calamity befalls you, put your wealth forward to protect your religion, and if the calamity continues, put forward your wealth and your life to save your religion [but never risk your religion], for the ruined is he whose religion is ruined, and the looted is he whose religion is taken - and know that there is no poverty after Paradise, and no riches after the Fire.

Wake Up at Night, Recite this Dhikr and Seek Forgiveness

Narrated ‘Ubada bin As-Samit: The Prophet -sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam-said:

“Whoever gets up at night and says: —

☝️🏼 ‘There is none worthy of worship in truth except Allaah Alone, He has no partners, He has the Dominion and for Him is all praise, and He is capable of all things, praise is for Him, and Far is Allaah from imperfection, and There is none worthy of worship in truth except Allaah, and Allaah is the Greatest, there is no capability nor is there any power except with Allaah.

Then he says : اللهمَ اغْفِرْلي O Allaah forgive me (Allaahumma aghfirlee), or he supplicates and his supplication is answered, and if he makes Wudu and prays then his prayer is accepted.

🎬 *How Do I Memorise and Review The Qur'an* - Shaykh Abdullah Bukhari

📰 Shaykh Abdullah Bukhari answers a very important question in relation to how the Qur’ān should be memorised. A much needed reminder for us all.

The question - may Allāh bless you - is concerning how to memorise and review the Qur’ān?

🔸Firstly, memorise the Qur’ān from a teacher who is proficient, a sincere advisor and Sunnī (firm upon the Sunnah). Memorising the Qur’ān is just like the other sciences and branches from the branches of studying (talab al-‘ilm). You are to read (the Qur’ān) to a man upon the Sunnah, who is knowledgeable, has memorised, good and precise (in what he teaches).

Don’t read the Qur’ān whilst solely relying on that which is between the two covers of the noble mushaf. You say (to yourself), “I’m going to memorise on my own” This is not proper and correct.
