" Idiocy is: a small amount of intellect, and it is a dangerous illness"
Shaykh Aboo Anas ‘Abdul-Khaaliq bin Muhammad al-Wassaabee said in his book, “Mukhaalafat as-Soofiyyah lil Imaam ash-Shaafi’ee” on page 13:
والحمق: قلة العقل، وهو داء خطير، ولذا قال الشاعر:
وكل الداء ملتمس شفاه — وداء الحمق ليس له دواء
((And idiocy is: a small amount of intellect, and it is a dangerous illness. And due to this the poet said: And every illness solicits a cure — and the illness of idiocy has no medicine))

KNOWLEDGE GUIDES , IGNORANCE DESTROYS...
Imam Malik [ ﺭﺣﻤﻪ ﺍﻟﻠﻪ ] said:
❝Indeed there are people who desired worship, but neglected knowledge so they rebelled against the Ummah of Muhammad [ﷺ ] with their swords, and if they had desired knowledge then it would have prevented them from rebelling.❞

Memorize this du`a for Riyaa taught to us by our beloved Prophet (sallallahu allahyi wa salaam) and recite it often:
"Allahumma innaa na‘udhu bika an-nushrika bika shay’an na‘lamuhu, wa nastagfiruka limaa laa na‘lamuh.
[O Allah, we seek refuge in you from committing shirk knowingly, and ask your forgiveness for (the shirk that we may commit unknowingly].”

[O Allah, we seek refuge in you from committing shirk knowingly, and ask your forgiveness for (the shirk that we may commit unknowingly].”
Shaykh-ul-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah, (may Allah have mercy upon him) mentions in his Majmu:
*“The (truly) fortunate one (is he who) seeks forgiveness for the mistakes, and is patient upon the calamities,* just as Allah says:
"So be patient. Verily, the Promise of Allah is true, and ask forgiveness for your fault."
[Surah Ghafir 40:55].”

Story regarding Sh. Ibn Uthaymin (d. 2001) - may Allah have mercy on him - is when the Saudi King Khalid and then Crown Prince Fahad visited him in his humble mud house.
Looking at the crude structure of the house, the King wished to gift him a new house, and offered to build him a palace. The Shaykh responded, "I appreciate the offer, may Allah reward you! But I'm already building a house in Salihiyya (an area of his city)." The King insisted on doing something for him, to which the Shaykh said, 'If you must, then please build a hostel for my students to live in, for otherwise they are living in the masjid and that is difficult for them.'
At this, the King turned to his entourage of accompanied clergy and remarked in the local Arabic vernacular, "You see? THIS is what you call a real scholar!" meaning that the people who sought fame and money for the sake of religion were not true scholars.
After the King left, his students asked him, "Shaykh, we didn't know you were building a house in Salihiyya?"
He replied, "Don't you know the graveyard is in Salihiyya?"
They said, "Yes."
He said, "So I am building a house for my afterlife over there."
May Allah bless the Shaykh and raise his ranks.

⚠️ *A Caution to Those Who Mock Matters of Allah’s Religion in Memes and Skits on Social Media*
🎓Shaykh Muhammad Ibn Ṣālih al-'Uthaymīn (d.1421H) رحمه الله - said,
“The matters of Divine Lordship, Prophethood, Revelation, and Religion are sacred matters which are to be honored. It is impermissible for anyone to show disrespect towards them, whether by mocking them to make others laugh or to make fun of them. If anyone does that, he is a disbeliever, because this is indicative of his disrespect towards Allāh and His Messengers, Books, and Laws. Whoever does this must repent to Allāh for what he has done, because that is a kind of hypocrisy. So he must repent to Allāh, seek His forgiveness, mend his ways, and develop fear of Allāh, show veneration towards Him and love for Him in his heart. And Allāh is the Source of strength.

🗓🗯 RULING ON CONGRATULATING OTHERS AT THE BEGINNING OF THE NEW ISLAMIC YEAR | MUHARRAM [1439H].
Question:
What is the Islamic ruling on congratulations for the new Hijry year?
Answer:
🎓Shaikh al-Fawzaan:
“This is an innovation, congratulating for the new year, it is an innovation; or commanding of fasting or charity [for the purpose of the new year] all of this is innovation, Allah has not revealed evidence upon it.”
🗝[Al-Muntaqa min Akhbaar Sayyid al-Mursaleen – 39: via Sahab].
🎓Shaikh ibn ul-Uthaymeen:
“If someone congratulates you then reply [i.e. make dua that Allah makes it a good and blessed year], but do not do it yourself [i.e. do not begin it yourself by congratulating someone initially]….I do not know that the Salaf used to congratulate each other for the arrival of the new year of Hijra…”

Fatwas of Ibn Baz
Evidence from the Qur’an and Sunnah (whatever is reported from the Prophet) indicates that celebrating birthdays is a Bid
You would follow the ways of those who came before you step by step to such an extent that if they were to enter a lizard’s hole, you would enter it too. They said: O Messenger of Allah, (do you mean) the Jews and the Christians? He said: Who else? (Related in the Two Sahih (authentic) Books of Hadith (i.e. Al-Bukhari and Muslim)) His saying, "Who else?" means that they were the ones referred to. The Prophet (peace be upon him) also stated: Whoever imitates any people is one of them.
There are many Hadith that convey the same meaning. May Allah guide us all to that which pleases Him.

Evidence from the Qur’an and Sunnah (whatever is reported from the Prophet) indicates that celebrating birthdays is a Bid
ah (innovation in Islam), which has no origin in Allah's Purified Shar (Law). It is not permissible to accept invitations to birthday celebrations, because this involves supporting and encouraging Bidah.
Besides being a Bidah and having no origin in Allah's Shari`ah, these birthday celebrations also involve imitation of the Jews and the Christians in their birthday celebrations. The Prophet (peace be upon him) stated, warning us against following their ways and traditions: You would follow the ways of those who came before you step by step to such an extent that if they were to enter a lizard’s hole, you would enter it too. The Correct Place of Opinion
Al-Awzāʿī reports that Caliph ʿUmar b. ʿAbd Al-ʿAzīz – Allāh have mercy on him – wrote (in his orders):
There is no place for anyone’s opinion [when it comes to] what is in the Book (revelation). The opinion of the imāms (great scholars) is only regarding what the Book did not come down with, and regarding which no Sunnah has passed from the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ. And the opinion of no one is counted in the face of a Sunnah from the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ.
