🗓🗯 RULING ON CONGRATULATING OTHERS AT THE BEGINNING OF THE NEW ISLAMIC YEAR | MUHARRAM [1439H].

Question:
What is the Islamic ruling on congratulations for the new Hijry year?

Answer:
🎓Shaikh al-Fawzaan:
“This is an innovation, congratulating for the new year, it is an innovation; or commanding of fasting or charity [for the purpose of the new year] all of this is innovation, Allah has not revealed evidence upon it.”
🗝[Al-Muntaqa min Akhbaar Sayyid al-Mursaleen – 39: via Sahab].

🎓Shaikh ibn ul-Uthaymeen:
“If someone congratulates you then reply [i.e. make dua that Allah makes it a good and blessed year], but do not do it yourself [i.e. do not begin it yourself by congratulating someone initially]….I do not know that the Salaf used to congratulate each other for the arrival of the new year of Hijra…”

Fatwas of Ibn Baz

Evidence from the Qur’an and Sunnah (whatever is reported from the Prophet) indicates that celebrating birthdays is a Bidah (innovation in Islam), which has no origin in Allah's Purified Shar (Law). It is not permissible to accept invitations to birthday celebrations, because this involves supporting and encouraging Bidah.

Besides being a Bid
ah and having no origin in Allah's Shari`ah, these birthday celebrations also involve imitation of the Jews and the Christians in their birthday celebrations. The Prophet (peace be upon him) stated, warning us against following their ways and traditions:

You would follow the ways of those who came before you step by step to such an extent that if they were to enter a lizard’s hole, you would enter it too. They said: O Messenger of Allah, (do you mean) the Jews and the Christians? He said: Who else? (Related in the Two Sahih (authentic) Books of Hadith (i.e. Al-Bukhari and Muslim)) His saying, "Who else?" means that they were the ones referred to. The Prophet (peace be upon him) also stated: Whoever imitates any people is one of them.

There are many Hadith that convey the same meaning. May Allah guide us all to that which pleases Him.

The Correct Place of Opinion

Al-Awzāʿī reports that Caliph ʿUmar b. ʿAbd Al-ʿAzīz – Allāh have mercy on him – wrote (in his orders):

There is no place for anyone’s opinion [when it comes to] what is in the Book (revelation). The opinion of the imāms (great scholars) is only regarding what the Book did not come down with, and regarding which no Sunnah has passed from the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ. And the opinion of no one is counted in the face of a Sunnah from the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ.

Al-Ājurrī, Al-Sharīʿah #113 et al.

knowledge, Opinion, Quran, Sunnah
ʿUmar b. ʿAbd Al-ʿAzīz
Abu Hurayrah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet Peace Be Upon Him said: "The poor will enter Paradise five hundred years before the rich."

[Ibn Maajah and At-Tirmidhi - At-Tirmidhi said: it is hasan saheeh (good or sound) - Al-Albaani graded it saheeh (sound)]
My wife and I used to be feminists...

...but then we realized where that path leads.

https://muslimskeptic.com/2017/09/19/grave-implications-feminist-islam/

Over the past year, I have been asked by many imams and community leaders to write an essay explaining the dangers of feminism. Why? Because they are seeing feminist ideology ravage their communities and their families under the guise of "enlightened thinking," "social justice," and "gender egalitarianism."

One dear shaykh described to me how he was leading an umrah trip for Islamic school students. On the plane on the way, the young girls decided among themselves that they were not going to wear hijab when they landed and that the requirement for them to wear it in Saudi violated equality between the sexes and freedom of choice.

Masjid communities around the US are plunged into turmoil as a small minority of loud voices has decided that gender separation in any form or fashion is injustice. "Separate but equal" they say is invalid and all separation must be abolished. Furthermore, why is it men who monopolize the "prime time" of masjid programming: Friday prayers? We need women khateebs and women imams, they shout. And if these demands are not met, they threaten to go to the local newspaper to smear the mosque organizers as "extremists" and "ISIS sympathizers."

Families are also falling prey to a dangerous ideology. Daughters no longer trust their fathers. Wives no longer trust their husbands. Mothers no longer trust their sons. The breakdown of the family at the hands of feminism is nothing new, but now Muslim families are the latest victims.

It is not politically correct to criticize feminism. Doing so makes you a target for cheap accusations of being a misogynist, a "mansplainer," an "alt-bro," etc. Thankfully, these bullying tactics have gotten old by now and can be safely ignored so that substantive issues can be discussed openly and honestly. The cost is too great for this subject to be ignored.

One of the leading Muslim feminists once wrote that Muslims need to feel comfortable saying "no" to the Quran.

Well, it's time for Muslims to feel comfortable saying "no" to feminism.

Beware Of Loans With Interest!

The Messenger of Allaah [ﷺ] said:

«الربا اثنان وسبعون باباً، أدناها مثل إتيان الرجل أمه...»

❝Interest has seventy two doors [i.e. types] and the lowest of them is equivalent to a man having intercourse with his own mother...❞

'THE MONTH OF AL-MUHARRAM'

Shaikh ibn ul-Uthaymeen رحمه الله mentioned,

“If someone congratulates you then reply [i.e. make dua that Allah makes it a good and blessed year], but do not do it yourself [i.e. do not begin it yourself by congratulating someone initially]….I do not know that the Salaf used to congratulate each other for the arrival of the new year of Hijra…”

Hadith 177

It was said to Sad Ibn Abee Waqqaas (radiyallaahu-anhu): ”Amongst the companions of the Messenger (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam) your supplication is answered?” He said: ”I have never put a morsel of (food) in my mouth, except that I knew where it came from and where it originated.” [Jaami-ul Iloom Wal-Hikam: page: 115]

An Example of How the Salaf Feared Oppressing Others

Yazeed Ibn Hakeem (rahimahullaah) used to say: “I have never feared anyone, more than my fear of a man whom I oppressed and I know that he had no helper except Allaah, and he says to me, “Allaah is sufficient for me, and between me and you is Allaah (i.e. Allaah will judge between us).”
