An Example of How the Salaf Feared Oppressing Others
Yazeed Ibn Hakeem (rahimahullaah) used to say: “I have never feared anyone, more than my fear of a man whom I oppressed and I know that he had no helper except Allaah, and he says to me, “Allaah is sufficient for me, and between me and you is Allaah (i.e. Allaah will judge between us).”

Three Types of Sleep
It is reported that ʿAbdullāh b. Al-ʿAmr b. Al-ʿĀṣ – Allāh be pleased with them – said:
There are three types of sleep: the incompetent’s sleep, proper sleep, and stupid sleep. As for the incompetent’s sleep, it is to sleep in the morning after sunrise (ḍuḥā time), when people are going about their needs (work), he is sleeping. As for the proper sleep, it is the midday nap (qaylūlah). And as for the stupid sleep, it is to sleep when it is time to pray.

Refutation of the corrupted principle "Take good and leave bad" by Shaykh Saalih al-Fawzaan حفظه الله.
''Why don't you mention their good? Why do you always mention their evil?''
Question To Shaykh Saalih Al-Fawzaan (حفظه الله)
What is the ruling on the one who defends a person of innovation and says: '(This person) has good deeds and has given service to Islaam in such', since this has become widespread amongst some of the callers. What is the ruling on this?
Answer:
We clarify errors in order that the people may keep away from it. As for having good deeds, then this is with Allah, so we do not have knowledge of it. Whatever his good deeds are, they will not be lost with Allah, and we are not a scale by which good and evil deeds are weighed. Good and evil deeds have their scale on the Day of Judgement with Allah (Ta-aalaa).
Our intention is not to diminish the individual, rather our intention is to clarify the truth and unveil errors so that people may not fall to it. As for the (personal/private affairs of the person), we do not enter into that.
If he has good deeds, then his good deeds will not be lost with Allah. We neither talk about his good deeds nor do we say that he has no good deeds. Allah is more knowledgeable about his good deeds, and our intention is to clarify errors in order that people do not incline towards it...

Al-Fawa’id – A Collection Of Wise Sayings – Imam Ibn Al-Qayyim⚘
There are two kinds of meeting between friends:
The first is a meeting based on sociability and spending time, in which are more disadvantages than advantage, the least of which is corruption of the heart, and wasting time.
The Second kind is a meeting for the sake of supporting one another, and recommending one another to the truth and to patience. This is the best kind, yet there are still three disadvantages therein,
1. Flattering each other.
2. Being excessively talkative.
3. That such meetings become a habit or routine and they fail to achieve their aims.
Enjoying health, this worldly life, status, a wife or children, then surely those feelings are temporary and will eventually dissipate.

'Wearing Clothes that have the Names of Kuffar on them' by Shaykh Saalih al-Fawzaan حفظه الله
What about a person who wears what the unbelievers wear, and on the back of the clothing is written the name of a Kafir player when the wearer does not intend to copy this player or the unbelievers?
The Shaykh replied:
This is to be considered respect and esteem for the Kafir. As long as he is wearing clothes upon which is written the name of the Kafir, or a picture of him, this is respect and esteem for the Kafir. It is not allowed to do this; the least that can be said about it is that it is haram (forbidden in Islam). If [the wearer really does] respect and esteem [the Kafir], he is in danger of apostasy. Yes.

Abu Hurairah رضي الله عنه narrated that I heard the Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه و سلم saying: 'I am the closest of the people to 'Esa bin Mariam, in this world and in the Hereafter.' They said: 'How is that, O Messenger of Allah?' He صلى الله عليه و سلم said: 'The Prophets are brothers; their mothers are different but their religion is one, and there is no Prophet between us.' "

The different types of ilhaad (To belie or deny or utter impious speech against) of Allaah’s Asmaa (Names) and Sifaat (Characteristics)
Ibn Qayyim aj-Jawzeeyah (d.751 A.H.) -Rahimullaah- talks about the different types:
▪️ *‘The first type:*
Is when the people call their idols with Allaah’s names, like when they call al-Laat from the word al-ilaheeya (a deity), and al-Uzza from the name al-Aziz.
▪️ *The second type:*
Calling Allaah with names, which are not befitting His Majesty, like the Christians name Him: father. And the philosophers name Him the one who has no intent or choice, or they call Him the one who creates without intent etc.
▪️ *The third type:*
Describing Him with something which He is free, High and Holy from deficiencies. Like the saying of the filthiest of the Jews: that Allaah is poor, and their saying that He rested after having created His creation. And then they say Allaah’s Hand is tied up, and other examples, which are Ilhaad (rejection, belittling) of Allaah’s Asma wa Sifaat.
▪️ *The fourth type:*
Cancelling the meanings of the names of Allaah and rejecting their reality, like the saying of those who say from the Jahmeeyah and their followers: the names of Allaah are just purely words they do not include Sifaat (characteristics) or meanings.
▪️ *The fifth type:*
Resembling the Sifaat of Allaah with the Sifaat of His creation, Allaah is very high above and Great from what those who claim He has a resemblance with His creation.’
