Jannah Dream:
▫️Q: Is it permissible for a Muslim to join the Christians in their celebrations, such as Christmas that is held at the end of December? Some people who claim knowledge sit with Christians in their feast gatherings and say that it is permissible. Is their opinion true or false? Is there any legal evidence for the permissibility of doing so?
A: It is not permissible to join the Christians in their celebrations, even if those who claim knowledge join them, because this increases their numbers and is a kind of support to them in sin and transgression. Allah (Exalted be He) says (what means): Help you one another in Al-Birr and At-Taqwâ (virtue, righteousness and piety); but do not help one another in sin and transgression.
May Allah grant us success. May peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and Companions.

{And when he (man) covers her (i.e. had sexual relation with his wife), she carries a light burden and continues therein. And when it becomes heavy, they both invoke Allaah, their Lord: “If You should give us a good [child], we will surely be among the grateful.” But when He gave them a Saalih (good in every aspect) child, they ascribed partners to Him (Allaah) in that which He has given to them. High be Allaah, Exalted above all that they ascribe as partners to Him.}

PART 1:
The way some of the parents commit Shirk, especially from the Indian sub-continent, is by placing a black dot (using Kohl (kaajal/surma)) on the baby’s face or at the bottom of the foot in trying to prevent evil eye; or they’ll make the child wear black beads bracelet on the hands and legs, or hang some talisman/thread around the neck.

PART 2:
🌟 One of the factors affecting a child’s religiosity is: THE PARENTS. So if we, as parents, learn our religion, practice it and are sincere in it, then we will be leaving a lasting legacy for our children...
🚫 But if the parents are going to celebrate Christmas, Halloweens, New Year’s Eve, birthdays and other pagan festivals, what positive example are they going to be for their children?
🚫 Worse is when the parents encourage their children to do the same.
🚫 The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم mentioned that the Jewish parents divert their children towards Judaism; the Christian parents divert their children towards Christianity. But look at the pics; sadly, it is the Muslim parents who are dressing up their children as Hindu gods and Santa Claus!
I know it's not easy in the case of converts in the West to navigate this situation, but where is the hardship for born Muslims with Muslim families? It's difficult to even make an excuse for people in such situations (aside from ignorance).
🚫 Even if a person doesn't have the intent behind it, it is still supporting Shirk at the very least.

Narrated Abu Hurairah رضي الله عنه: Allaah’s Messenger صلى الله عليه وسلم said: ❝No child is born except on Al-Fitrah (Islaam) and then his parents turn him into a Jew, Christian or Magian – like an animal which produces a perfect young animal; do you see any part of its body amputated?❞ Then he صلى الله عليه وسلم recited:
{So, set you (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) your face towards the religion (of pure Islaamic Monotheism) Haneef (worship none but Allaah Alone). Allaah’s Fitrah (i.e. Allaah’s Islaamic Monotheism) with which He has created mankind. No change let there be in Khalq-illaah (i.e. the religion of Allaah), that is the straight religion, but most of men know not} [Surah al-Room (30): 30]

🚫 Dressing up and imitating the Kuffaar in their religious attire and festivities is Haraam: 🚫
The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم said:
مَنْ تَشبَّه بقومٍ فهو منهم
❝Whoever imitates a people (in their actions), is considered to be one of them.❞
📚 [Sunan Abu Dawood (4031) and graded as “Hasan Saheeh” by Shaikh al-Albaanee]
Abdullaah ibn `Amr رضي الله عنه said: “Whoever settles in the land of the non-Arabs and celebrates their Nawrooz (New Year) and Mahrajaan (festival) and imitates them until he dies (in that state), will be gathered with them on the Day of Resurrection.”

🔹Obligation of Sincerity to Allah – The Destructive Nature of Showing Off
Written by: Abu Muadh Taqweem Aslam
بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
الحمد لله و الصلاة و السلام على رسول الله و بعد
Obligation of Sincerity to Allah – The Destructive Nature of Showing-off
Showing-off is considered to be from the “concealed shirk”; since the scholars of this nation have explained the two-fold nature of shirk as being “apparent shirk” (such as in open and apparent actions of worshipping idols, tombs, shrines, trees, stones with regards to slaughtering for them or seeking aid or directing supplication to them and other than that), and “concealed shirk” (shirk within the intention of a person, that which resides in his heart and it is concealed from the people and known to Allah alone).
The word “riyaa” (showing-off) in Arabic is derived from the root word indicating vision or sight, and that is due to the one engaging in it intends that the people see him performing his action, or hear of his actions, in order to obtain their praise or other than that.
Showing-off is from the actions of the hypocrites, Allah stated:
“إن المنافقين يخادعون الله و هو خادعهم و إذا قاموا إلى الصلاة قاموا كسالى يراءون الناس و لا يذكرون الله إلا قليلا”
And Allah has warned those who intend to show-off with their actions,
“فويل للمصلين – الذين هم عن صلاتهم ساهون – الذين هم يراءون”
And it has been mentioned in a hadith that Allah will say on the Day of Judgement to those who would show-off with their actions, “Go to those whom you would show-off in front of in the world, do you find any reward from them?”
It is therefore incumbent upon the individual to purify his intention for Allah, not that he desires the praise of the people upon his actions or speech, and nor does he desire any worldly gains or benefits.
And as it is well established in the hadith, “إنما الأعمال بالنيات” Indeed actions are in accordance to the intentions.
We ask Allah to grant us sincerity in all our actions and to distance us from corrupt intentions.

HEEDLESS OF ALLAH AND HIS DESIRES ARE HIS GOD – SHAYKH UTHAYMEEN AND SHAYKH AS-SA’DI
✍Written by Abu Aa'isha Amjad on October 25, 2013.

Shaykh Uthaymeen warned:
If you see your time pass by and your life go, and you have not produced anything worthwhile or beneficial and you do not find any blessing in your time then be wary that the statement of Allah has overcome you:
“And obey not him whose heart We have made heedless of Our Remembrance, one who follows his own lusts and whose affair (deeds) has been lost.” Al-Kahf: 28 (1)
And in this ayah is an indication to the importance of (having) prescence of heart when performing dhikr of Allah. And that the person who remembers Allah with (only) his tongue and not his heart, (then) the barakah (blessing) is removed from his actions and his time to the extent that his deeds become lost.(2)
Imam As-Sa’di -rahimahullah- said about this verse in his tafseer
(The one who is) heedless of Allah then his recompense is that Allah has made him heedless of His remembrance.
“Who follows his own lusts”
ie whatever his soul desires he does and he strives in its attainment, even if it was to his destruction and loss, (if that occurs) then verily he has took his desires as his god, as Allah the Most High said:
“Have you seen him who takes his own lust (vain desires) as his ilah (god), and Allah knowing (him as such), left him astray, and sealed his hearing and his heart, and put a cover on his sight. Who then will guide him after Allah? Will you not then remember?” Soorah Al-Jathiya:23(3)

❌Anoscription to Naqshbandeeyah
‘This _Tareeqa_ (way) ascribes itself to Muhammad Baha-uddeen Shah Naqshband. The anoscription for this Tareeqa[38] is *from his name and it has became known with that.* He was born in the village of Bukhara (717 – 791 A.H)’
‘He was given the noscript of Naqshband because of a print of the word ‘Allaah’ engraved upon the front of his heart, due to a lot of remembrance of Allaah.
It has been said he was called Naqshband, because the Messenger of Allaah _-sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam-_
placed his noble palm on the heart of shaykh Muhammad Baha-uddeen al-Awaysee Naqshband, so it became engraved on his heart.’
‘Ahmad al-Farooqi as-Sarhindi (1034 A.H.) revived and spread the _Tareeqa_

‘ad-Deobandeeyah is a group from the Hanafis in the Indian Sub-continent and other places. They follow the path of the Deoband University and *their anoscription is to this University,* and that was to distinguish from their brothers ‘the Brailaweeyah’ one of the sects of the Hanafis, who ascribe to a _Imam of Bida’,_ Ahmad Rida Khan al-Brialweeyah, who was born in the city of ‘Brieelee’ a city in the state of Uttra Pardesh in India in the year 1272 A.H. and died in the year 1340 A.H.
‘Deoband’ is a town in the state of Uttra Pardesh it achieved its fame due to the famous Islamic University called ‘Dar al-Uloom’ which was founded in 1283 A.H. and this University without doubt is regarded as a pride and honour for that town.
The fundamental aim of establishing this University was to support the Hanafi Madhab (School of thought) and spreading it, *and to subjugate the Prophetic Sunnah and to make the Sunnah follow the Hanafi _Fiqh,*_ and there is no exaggeration in the reality of this point, since even the senior scholars of Deoband have acknowledged this.’[41]
*‘’Muhammad Yusuf al-Banoori one of the leaders of the Deoband said explaining the way of the Deoband and their Madhab:*
‘The way of the Deoband which their senior scholars are upon is the affirmation of the leadership of the _Faqeeh_ of the _Ummah,_ the Imam Abu Hanifah with respect to his _Fiqh_ and his _Ijtihad_ which has a lofty status in the pure _Sharia’_ after the noble Prophetic Hadeeth.
And it is necessary to have the sciences of Soofeeyah and sciences of purification of the hearts which is transmitted by its people, and it needs to be blended with the _Sharia’_ in a correct way.
They acknowledge the magnificence of Ibn Taymeeyah’s[42] status but at the same time they acknowledge the greatest Shaykh Muhiddeen ibn Arabi[43] with his book ‘Kamallat’.
So we have _Taqleed_ of the Imam Abu Hanifah, and follow the Prophetic Ahadeeth along with the sciences of the Soofeeyah, and what is made up of this blend of three is the magnificent _Madhab_ [44], which is none other than the _Madhab_ of the sect Deobandeeyah.’[45]

Abu Yahya Suhaib bin Sinan (May Allah be pleased with him) reported that:The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said,
“How wonderful is the case of a believer; there is good for him in everything and this applies only to a believer. If prosperity attends him, he expresses gratitude to Allah and that is good for him; and if adversity befalls him, he endures it patiently and that is better for him”.

It is narrated from Mahmood ibn Labeed [RA] that the Messenger of Allah [SAWS] said, “Indeed the thing that I fear most for you is the minor shirk.”
The companions asked, “And what is minor shirk, Oh Messenger of Allah [SAWS]?”
He [SAWS] said, “It is Ar-Riyaa. Allah will say to the people of riyaa on the Day of Judgement – when the people are being re-payed for their deeds – ‘Go to those who you showed off your deeds to in the worldly life then see if you can find any reward with them!’”
[Reported by Imam Ahmad and Authenticated by Shaikh Al-Albani]

Like those who spend from their wealth to be seen by men, and they do not believe in Allah and the Last Day. Their example is like the example of a hard rock on which is a little soil, then on it falls heavy rain which flows off it and they will not be able to do anything with whatever they have earned and Allah does not guide the disbelieving people."—

Hearts Devoid of Love of Allaah Become Infatuated With Images – By Imaam Ibnul Qayyim [rahimahullaah]
🖋Written by Jallow Abdullah.
In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy
Imaam Ibnul Qayyim [rahimahullaah] said: Hearts that are emptied of Love for Allaah -hearts that are turned away from Him and seeking remedy from others besides Him- are afflicted with an uncontrolled love of images; for when the heart is filled with Love of Allaah and a strong love for meeting Him [i.e. in the hereafter], the uncontrolled love for images is repelled from it. And for this reason, Allaah [The Most High] stated about Yusuf [alayhis-salaam]:
كَذَٰلِكَ لِنَصْرِفَ عَنْهُ السُّوءَ وَالْفَحْشَاءَ ۚ إِنَّهُ مِنْ عِبَادِنَا الْمُخْلَصِينَ
Thus it was, that We might turn away from him evil and illegal sexual intercourse. Surely, he was one of Our chosen, guided slaves. [Soorah Yusuf: Ayah: 24]
This shows that sincerity to [Allaah] is a means to repelling [evil]. Therefore, repelling the original cause of something is repels the cause of that thing. And because of this, some of the Salaf said: ‘’Uncontrolled love is an agitation in empty hearts.” Meaning: [Hearts] emptied of other than what they crave for.

Al-Hasan Al-Basri (Died 110 Hijri) said:
"By Allah, I did not meet those from the early part of this ummah except that what they said with their tongues was in their hearts. By Allah, they were in agreement with the book of their lord and the sunnah of their Prophet (sallaaAllahu alahyi wa sallam). When the night covered them, they would stand on their feet and their faces on the floor (in prayer), their tears flowing down their cheeks, they were desiring for their lord to free them. If they were to earn something from the dunya they would take from it what they needed and place the remainder for their hereafter and they would be thankful to Allah for it and if they didn't they would be pleased and say: "this is from Allah as a test for us from him". If they did something good, it would make them happy and they would call upon Allah that he accepts it from them and if they did something wrong, it would displease them and they would seek forgiveness from Allah.

Jannah Dream:
Many people have the misunderstanding that as long as one's intention is to do good, then he/she has the license to do anything.
There are many narrations which clearly refute this false understanding.
One such narration is of the three people who came to `Aaishah رضي الله عنها. One said that he will stand the whole night in prayer forever; the other said that he will continuously fast forever; and the third said that he will never ever marry.
The Prophet ﷺ said to them:
❝By Allaah, I fear Allaah more than you do, and I am most obedient and dutiful among you to Him, but still I observe fast and break it; perform Salaah and sleep at night and take wives. SO WHOEVER TURNS AWAY FROM MY SUNNAH DOES NOT BELONG TO ME.❞
📚 [ Saheehain ]
○ Their intentions were good.
● Their intentions were to only increase in obedience to Allaah.
○ Their intentions were to increase their good deeds.
🚫 But their intended actions were opposing the Sunnah of the Prophet ﷺ.
🔥 And whichever action opposes the Sunnah, it becomes blameworthy instead of praiseworthy.
🔥🔥 But unfortunately many people only hear/recall this Hadeeth is at the time of getting married.

*Accepting gifts at Christmas, New Year and other festivals: From Ibn Taymiyyah, Ibn Uthaimeen, Ibn Bāz.*
Shaikhul-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah (رحمه الله) stated in “Iqtidā Sirātil-Mustaqīm”:
“As for accepting gifts from them [the non-Muslims] on the days of their celebrations, then we have already narrated from Ali (radiyallahu anhu) that there came to him a gift on the celebration of Nayrooz* and he accepted it. And Ibn Abi Shaybah narrated in “Al-Musannaf” saying: Jareer narrated to us from Qāboos from his father: A woman asked Ā’ishah: ‘We have some wet nurses from the Magians; and when it is their festival, they give us gifts.’ So she said: ‘As for what is slaughtered of animals on that day, then do not eat it. However, eat from their vegetation.’ Ibn Abi Shaybah also said: ‘Wakee narrated to us from Al-Hasan Ibn Hakeem from his mother from Abu Barzah that he used to live in the locality of the Magians; and they would give him gifts on the celebrations of Nayrooz and Mahrajān, so he would say to his family: ‘Eat the fruits they give you; and leave alone what is besides that.’ So all of this proves that the celebrations do not forbid one from accepting their gifts. Indeed the ruling of accepting gifts during the celebratory days is the same as any other days because it does not entail aiding them in making apparent the signs of their unbelief. However, accepting the gifts of the unbelievers from the people who are at war with Muslims and those living in Muslim lands is a separate issue wherein there is some differing and in need of a detailed explanation – and here is not the place for that. And it is allowed to eat the food of the People of the Book on their days of celebration, regardless of whether it is bought or gifted or other than that as long as it was not slaughtered for the purpose of the day of celebration. As for the slaughtered meat of the Magians, then its ruling is well known – it is harām (prohibited) at all times.” (1/50-52)
* Zoroastrians worldwide celebrate Nayrooz (or Nowruz) as the first day of the New Year. Nowruz is the most important holiday in Iran.
Al-Allāmah Muhammad Ibn Sālih Al-Uthaimeen (رحمه الله) said in explanation of these words of Shaikhul-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah (رحمه الله):
“This speech of the shaikh (رحمه الله) is strange!! This is because accepting their gifts on their days of celebration is a sign that one is pleased with their festivals. Nevertheless, there are narrations from the Companions (radiyallahu anhum) regarding this affair. Perhaps the Companions accepted these gifts because it was a time when Islam was strong and the people would not be beguiled/deceived by such gifts – and also the unbelievers knew then that the Muslims were higher than them. However in our times today, if you were to accept gifts from them on their days of festivities they become joyous, and they say: ‘These Muslims agree with us that this day is a day of celebration.’ So for this reason it is necessary for us to explain this matter – and it is to be said: If it is feared that it will elevate and raise the unbelievers such that they will think that [accepting of gifts] is our showing pleasure at their annual festivities then the gift is not to be accepted regardless of whether it is from what zakāh is conditional upon or not.” (Tape 18, time stamp: 1:13:31; “Sharh Iqtidā Sirātil-Mustaqīm” Egyptian print, pp. 348-349)
CLOSER LOOK AT THE NARRATIONS:
All of the narrations mentioned in the text of Ibn Taymiyyah have defects:
1. “From Ali (radiyallahu anhu) that there came to him a gift on the celebration of Nayzoor and he accepted it.” The chain is disconnected because Muhammad Ibn Seereen (rahimahullāh) did not hear narrations from the Companion Ali (radiyallahu anhu). Ibn Seereen was born when there were two years remaining of the Khilāfah of Uthmān (radiyallahu anhu).
2.Furthermore, if the narration from Ali (radiyallahu `anhu) is authentic which is alluded to by Shaikhul-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah, then it does not indicate that he accepted their gifts – rather it proves that he disliked that it
