REFUSING TO ACCEPT THE TRUTH BECAUSE IT COMES FROM ONE WHO IS LESS THAN YOU IN AGE, KNOWLEDGE, OR POPULARITY *
_Ash-Shawkānī, may Allāh have mercy upon him said :
From the evils which prevent one from returning to the truth is that
the one who speaks with the truth may be younger in age than the one who he is in dispute with ;
or he has less knowledge than him;
or he is less known amongst the people ; whilst the other party is the opposite of that.
Hence, he carries the flag of ignorance and satanic partisanship in clinging to falsehood rather than returning to the statement of one who is younger than him, has less knowledge than him,
or is less known than he is;
*believing that by doing so there lies degradation and diminution of his status.*
This is a poor assumption .
For degradation and diminution of status only lie within firmness upon falsehood whereas honor lies in returning to the truth,
*no matter at whose hand or by what means.*

The Prophet ﷺ said:
❝May Allâh brighten the face of a man who heard my sayings and conveyed them to others.❞ (At-Tirmidhī)
He ﷺ also said:
❝Whoever teaches some knowledge will have the reward of the one who acts upon it, without that detracting from his reward in the slightest.❞ (Ibn Majah)
The person who conveys must have understanding of what they are calling to and call based on knowledge not emotions.
Shaykh Ibn Uthaymīn – may Allâh have mercy on him explained:
❝If a person has proper understanding what he is calling people to, it makes no difference whether he is a great scholar or a seeker of knowledge who is a hard worker, or an ordinary Muslim whose knowledge of a particular issue is clear and certain.
The Messenger (ﷺ) said: “Convey from me, even if it is a Âyah.” He did not stipulate that the dā‘iyah (one who calls people to Allâh) should have vast knowledge; rather he stipulated that he should have knowledge of what he is calling people to. As for the one who is ignorant and calls people on the basis of emotion, that is not permissible.
Hence we see some brothers who call people to Allâh although they have only a little knowledge, and we find that because of the strength of their emotions they declare to be harām things that Allâh has not declared harām, and they impose obligations that Allâh has not enjoined upon His slaves. This is a very serious matter.
Allâh says (interpretation of the meaning):
“And say not concerning that which your tongues put forth falsely: ‘This is lawful and this is forbidden,’ so as to invent lies against Allâh. Verily, those who invent lies against Allâh will never prosper. A passing brief enjoyment (will be theirs), but they will have a painful torment” (al-Nahl: 116 - 117)❞

❌The Innovation of Greeting People One-by-One When Entering a Gathering ❌
Shaykh Muḥammad Nāṣir al-Dīn al-Albānī said :
From among the widespread innovations of this time—of which none has the capability to point out except the one who is well acquainted with the Sunnah of the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم) and the Salaf al-Ṣālih—is that when a person enters and gives his salām, shakes hands
(and from the perfection of the greetings is to shake hands even though the narration it comes in is weak but its meaning is correct),
so he shakes hands but what is incorrect is that he gives salām [individually]
to everyone he shakes hands with.
So he says: “salāmu ʿʿalaykum, salāmu ʿʿalaykum, salāmu ʿʿalaykum", if there are twenty people in the gathering he gives twenty salāms; this is an innovation.
Rather, the Sunnah is that when a person enters upon a gathering that he say, “salāmu ʿʿalaykum” once, after this if it is possible for him to shake hands with those present in the gathering then that is better. If it is not possible for him to shake hands, he has accomplished the obligation of the Muslim giving salām to another Muslim—one fifth
(of the rights a Muslim has upon a Muslim)—that if you come upon another Muslim, you give him salām.
As for shaking hands, this is a recommended Sunnāh.
Like some of the companions have said :
👉We have not come upon the Messenger of Allāh (صلى الله عليه وسلم) except that we shook his hand.
So adding to the Sunnah al-Qawliyyah (the Prophet’s speech) or Sunnah al-Fiʿliyyah (the Prophet’s actions)
is an innovation in its essence.
For this reason, if it is said that adding good [to the sunnah] is good, [it is said] this speech will not save you because if it was truly good we would have been preceded in it (by the early generations). This is my advice.

Answering the Claim, "The Caller (Dāʿī) Is Better Than the Scholar "
Shaykh ʿUbayd al-Jābirī comments on the verse below, clarifying an existing doubt :
شَهِدَ اللَّهُ أَنَّهُ لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ وَالْمَلَائِكَةُ وَأُولُو الْعِلْمِ قَائِمًا بِالْقِسْطِ ۚ لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ الْعَزِيزُ الْحَكِيمُ
Allāh bears witness that none has the right to be worshipped but Him; and likewise,
the angels and the people of knowledge bear witness: He who maintains justice, none has the right to be worshipped but Him, the All Mighty, the All Wise.
[Sūrah al-ʿImrān, 3:18]
Present in this verse is a refutation of some of those who ascribe to the daʾwah, who say : The caller (dāʿī) is better than the scholar.
They use the argument that the caller is like the rain cloud, travelling from place to place, everyone benefits from it
[i.e. the rain].
While the scholar is like a well, no one drinks from it except those who travel to it. Glorified is Allāh the Exalted !
Are they more knowledgeable or Allāh? Who are the ones who testify to the oneness of Allāh [in this verse],
the scholar or the caller?
The scholar ! !
Who are the inheritors of the prophets? The scholars, or the callers who travel from place to place?
Some of them [i.e. callers] are not even able to recite Sūrah al-Fātiḥah correctly and do not know the pillars of Islām.
Corrupt reasoning and misinterpetation of the speech of Allāh and His Messenger (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) is the way of the people of innovation and desires;
so be warned.

WORLDLY LIFE = INTOXICANT ❗
In the Name of Allaah, Ar-Rahmaan, Ar-Raheem…
Yahya Ibn Mu’aadh Ar-Raazee stated:
“This worldly life is the Devil’s intoxicant (Khamr). Whoever is intoxicated by it will not regain consciousness until they are in the ranks of the dead, in a state of regret, among the losers.” In the book ‘Uddah As-Saabireen of Al-Imam Ibn Al-Qayyim, p. 349, Daar Ibn Al-Jawzee.
Ibn Al-Qayyim said in the same book:
“The intoxicating effect of loving this world is far more potent than the intoxication that results from drinking alcohol by a long way. The one who is intoxicated by this will not gain his senses until he is in the darkness of his grave, and [if he regains his senses] and the effects of this cease while he is living then he will surely appreciate the extent of intoxication that this worldly life can cause and that it is more severe than alcohol…” (p. 349)
Ibn Al-Qayyim said,“Numerous narrations have been transmitted from the rightly guided predecessors where [they have mentioned] that the love of this world is the root of (all) sins and the source of them.” (p. 349)
He said, “The love of this world and leadership is that which has filled the Hellfire with its inhabitants, and the practice of abstinence as it relates to the life of this world and leadership is that which has filled paradise with its inhabitants.” (p. 349)
By Allah, the scholars of Islam, or the doctors of the hearts, have spoken the truth; this is truly an epidemic.
Even some non-Muslims are now attesting to the fact that materialism has brought nothing but misery to the world, and they have defined it as disease as ‘Affluenza’. However, they fail to understand that true happiness can only be achieved through belief in Allah and His Messenger.
