Would You Like To Be From The People Of Al-Firdaws?
"Who amongst you would like to be from the people of the highest Firdaws?
All of you abi?
Do you want me to mention to you the characteristics which will make you from the people of the highest Firdaws?
shall I give you six or seven characteristics?
They are seven, which will make you enter the highest Firdaws. Write, for perhaps you might forget. Write, for it is very important. Unless you don't want the highest Firdaws.
Firstly: Faith.
Secondly: Khushu' in the prayer. What do i think about the second characteristic, do you possess it? Khushu' in the prayer. What does to have Khushu' in the prayer mean? That you perform it (the prayer) with tranquility, that you reflect on the meaning of what you are reciting, about the meaning of Subhān Allāh, Subhāna Rabbiyal 'Adhīym, Subhāna Rabbiyal 'A'lā, AlLāhu Akbar etc, and that you perform it in the same manner of that of the Prophet, may peace and blessings be upon him. Easy?
Thirdly: To turn away from Al-Laghw and speech and actions which have no benefit. Any statement which does not benefit you in this life nor in the hereafter then leave it so that you may be from the people of the highest Firdaws. Speaking about this one or that one and talking about that which does not bring about any benefit or games that people play, leave it because it is Laghw. So do you know now what the third characteristic is?
Fourthly: That the one who possesses wealth pays the Zakāh. The Zakāh is compulsory on that wealth.
Fifthly: Safeguarding your private parts. Watch out! Your private parts, yes your private parts!
Sixthly: Trusts and testimonies. That you carry them out properly. Anything you have been entrusted over, your work, your studies, if you have been entrusted with something, if someone requests from you to take care of something, then all of these are an Amānah (trusts, responsibilities).
And seventhly and lastly: To strictly keep carrying out the prayers continuously (in their ordained times). Fajr, Dhuhr, 'Asr, Maghrib and 'Ishā'.
How many characteristics? Seven. Allāh, the Mighty and Majestic, says:
"Successful indeed are the believers.Those who offer their Salāt (prayers) with all solemnity and full submissiveness. And those who turn away from Al-Laghw (dirty, false, evil vain talk, falsehood, and all that Allāh has forbidden).And those who pay the Zakāh .And those who guard their chastity (i.e. private parts, from illegal sexual acts). Except from their wives or (the captives and slaves) that their right hands possess, for then, they are free from blame; But whoever seeks beyond that, then those are the transgressors;Those who are faithfully true to their Amānat (all the duties which Allāh has ordained, honesty, moral responsibility and trusts etc.) and to their covenants;And those who strictly guard their (five compulsory congregational) Salawāt (prayers) (at their fixed stated hours).These are indeed the inheritors. Who shall inherit the Firdaus (Paradise). They shall dwell therein forever." [Sūrah Al-Mu'minūn 23:1-11].
I ask Allāh to make us from the people of Al-Firdaws, I ask Allāh to aid us against our own souls and to make us from the people of Al-Firdaws.
That's all, and Allāh knows best. May Allāh send abundant peace and blessings upon our beloved Prophet, his family, companions and his followers.

Those who have lost their job, upon them is the Salaah*:
وَاسْتَعِينُوا بِالصَّبْرِ وَالصَّلَاةِ ۚ وَإِنَّهَا لَكَبِيرَةٌ إِلَّا عَلَى الْخَاشِعِينَ
{And seek (Allaah’s) help through patience and prayer, and indeed, it is difficult except for the humbly submissive [to Allaah]} [Surah al-Baqarah (2): 45]
*[Including Salaah, Istighfaar, Tawbah, Taqwa, Tawakkul, Du`aa etc.]
Those who have lost their wives, upon them is fasting:
Allaah's Messenger ﷺ said: ❝O young men! Whoever among you can afford to marry, should get married, because it helps him lower his gaze and guard his modesty (i.e. his private parts from committing illegal sexual intercourse etc.), and whoever is not able to marry, should fast, as fasting diminishes his sexual power.❞
[Saheehain]
And with all this, those who have small children, then they should look at their sins and blame not but themselves:
{Would any of you wish to have a garden with date-palms and vines, with rivers flowing underneath, and all kinds of fruits for him therein, while he is stricken with old age, and his children are weak (not able to look after themselves), then it (the garden) is struck with a fiery whirlwind containing fire, so that it is burnt? Thus does Allaah make clear His Aayaat (proofs, evidences) to you that you may give thought.}

The Excellence Of Waiting For The Prayer
Ibn 'Abdul Barr رحمه الله stated: "I don't know of any existing difference of opinion between the scholars that whoever goes (to the masjid) early, and waits for the prayer, even if he does not pray in the first row, is better then the one who is late and then passes over the rows to the first rows!

The Salaf As-Salih Did Not Celebrate The Mawlid Of The Prophet
Shaykh ul-Islaam Ibn Taymeeyah [رحمه الله] said regarding the Mawlid of the Prophet [ﷺ]:
❝The Salaf As-Salih did not do this even though they could have done it and there was no prevention in doing so. If the Mawlid was good or seen as beneficial the Salaf [رضي الله عنهم] would have had more of a right to it than us because they were the greatest in love for the Messenger of Allaah [ﷺ] and in respect for him, compared to us, and were more concerned for goodness.
Indeed loving him completely and respecting him is by following him [ﷺ], obeying him and following his commands, reviving his Sunnah outwardly and inwardly and conveying what he was sent with, striving upon that with the heart, hand and tongue, as this was the way of the foremost to embrace Islaam from the Muhajireen, the Ansar and those who followed them in goodness.❞

It is only right that a person be optimistic, feeling happy about the good he sees (in things); and he should not look at the life lying ahead of him in this world as dark and dismal so that he becomes weary (of life) and loses hope.

✍🏼 One Bad Quality Can Spoil Numerous Good Ones
It is reported that ʿUmar b. Al-Khaṭṭāb – Allāh be pleased with him – said to a young man while exhorting him:
A man might have ten qualities, nine of them good and one bad, but the nine good ones can be spoiled by the one bad quality. Beware of the slips and faults of youth.

Narrated Abu Hurairah رضي الله عنه: The Prophet ﷺ said,
"Seven people will be shaded by Allah under His shade on the day when there will be no shade except His. They are:
1. a just ruler;
2. a young man who has been brought up in the worship of Allah, (i.e. worship Allah (Alone) sincerely from his childhood),
3. a man whose heart is attached to the mosque (who offers the five compulsory congregational Salāt (prayers) in the mosques);
4. two persons who love each other only for Allah's sake and they meet and part in Allah's cause only;
5. a man who refuses the call of a charming woman of noble birth for an illegal sexual intercourse with her and says: I am afraid of Allah;
6. a person who practices charity so secretly that his left hand does not know what his right hand has given (i.e. nobody knows how much he has given in charity).
7. a person who remembers Allah in seclusion and his eyes get flooded with tears."

🍂 The Relief From Distress 🍂
An Explanation to the du‘ā of Prophet Yūnus عليهم السلام
🎓By: Shaykhu'l-Islām ibn 'Taymiyyah - رحمه الله -
Prophet Yūnus (‘alayhi as-Salam) spent many years calling his people to worship Allāh alone, and to abandon their sinful ways. Only a few people believed in his message; finally, in despair, Yūnus supplicated to Allāh that His punished descends upon his nation.
He was commanded by Allāh to preach to his people for a further forty days, when three days remained he proclaimed amongst his people that punishment would afflict them in three days and he fled. His people gathered together and agreed that Yūnus was a pious person who was not known to lie, and when they saw that he had indeed fled, they became certain of the imminent punishment and repented, so Allāh forgave them and showed them mercy.
When Yūnus came to know that Allāh forgave his people, fearing disgrace and being called a liar, he embarked upon a ship, before long the ship was overcome with a bad weather, as a result, he was thrown into the sea and swallowed by a huge whale.
In the stomach of the whale, he called upon his Lord in pitch darkness, “There is none worthy of worship save You! Glory be to You, far removed are You from any imperfection; I have been among the wrongdoers.” Allāh responded to him and rescued him from grief, and the whale spews him out onto the beach.
Our beloved Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said, “The dua of my brother Yūnus, “None has the right to be worshiped save You; glory be to You, far removed are You from any imperfection; I have been amongst the wrong-doers,’ none who is experiencing difficulty employs it except that Allāh would relieve him of his difficulty.”

There is No Supplication that a Person Can Say that is Better Than …”
The Prophet ﷺ said, “There is no supplication that a person can say that is better than:
‘O Allaah! I ask You for al-Mu’aafaah* in this world and the Hereafter.’” *(‘Mu’aafaah is for Allaah to suffice you against needing the people, and sufficing the people of having need of you. See Tuhfatul-Ahwadhi, 3512.)
Allaahumma inni as’alukal-Mu’aafaah fid-Dunyaa wal-Aakhirah
اَللَّهُمَّ إِنِّيْ أَسْأَلُكَ الْمُعَافَاةَ فِيْ الْدُّنْيَا وَالْآخِرَةِ
