The Milk Of Cow Is A Healing And Its Meat Is A Disease

The Messenger of Allāh Ṣallallāhu-'Alaihi Wa Sallam said: “The milk of cows contains healing and its fat is a medicine and its meat is a (cause of) disease.”

Shaykh al-Albānī Raḥimahullāh was asked how can one reconcile between this Ḥadeeth and the fact that Sharī'ah allows cow as a sacrificial animal and how can it be that something harmful is legislated by this religion??

The Shaykh Raḥimahullāh replied:

أما إذا أكل منها احيانا فلا ضير في ذلك ولا ضرر ، وهو بلا شك جائز لأن المقصود بالنهي عن لحوم البقر إنما هو الإكثار منها والإستعاضة بها عن لحوم الغنم والمعز والإبل ، هذا هو جواب العلماء

“As for consuming beef sometimes then there is no loss or harm in that and it is without any doubt permissible, because what is intended by the prohibition of cow's meat is ONLY IF IT'S CONSUMED ABUNDANTLY, and if it is made a replacement for the meat of sheep, goat and camel, this is the answer of scholars.”

▪️Rejected Sunnah vs Beautified Opinion▪️

It is reported that Al-Awzāʿī said:

“Follow the narrations [ways] of those who have preceded (the Salaf) even if people reject you; and beware of people’s opinions, even if they beautify them for you.”

[Al-Ājurrī, Kitāb Al-Sharīʿah 1:138; Ibn ʿAbd Al-Barr, Jāmiʿ Bayān Al-ʿIlm wa Faḍlihi 3:373.

There is No Supplication that a Person Can Say that is Better Than …

The Prophet ﷺ said, “There is no supplication that a person can say that is better than:

‘O Allaah! I ask You for al-Mu’aafaah** in this world and the Hereafter.’” (
‘Mu’aafaah is for Allaah to suffice you against needing the people, and sufficing the people of having need of you. See Tuhfatul-Ahwadhi, 3512.)

Allaahumma inni as’alukal-Mu’aafaah fid-Dunyaa wal-Aakhirah

The Relief For This Ummah

The Messenger of Allāh Ṣallallāhu-‘Alaihi Wa Sallam said: “My Ummah, this Ummah is the one which has been shown mercy, it will not be punished in the Hereafter, its punishment is only in this world in the form of trials and tribulations and earthquakes and killing and disasters.”

Imām al-Munāwee Raḥimahullāh said 'It will not be punished in the Hereafter’ means that this Ummah will not be punished with the punishment of disbelievers, just like the Fire will consume a believer except for his limbs that he used to wash for the purpose of Wuḍū (ablution), whereas a disbeliever is not given this discount, and Allāh knows best.

Imam Ahmad and the Prison Guard!

Ibn Al-Jawzi narrates:

"When Imām Ahmad bin Hanbal (rahimahullah) was jailed, one of the prison guards came to him and asked him:

"O Abu Abdullah! The Hadith that is narrated regarding the oppressors and those that aid them, is it authentic?"

He said: "Yes."

The prison guard then said: "So, I am considered to be an aide of the oppressors?"

Imam Ahmad replied: "No. The aides of the oppressors are those that comb your hair, wash your clothes, prepare your meals, and buy and sell from you. As for you, you are one of the oppressors themselves."

📘Manāqib Al-Imām Ahmad - p.397
“Ahead of you there lie days of patience, during which being patient will be like grasping a hot coal. The one who does good deeds then will have a reward like that of fifty men who do such deeds. – And someone else added – They said: O Messenger of Allaah, the reward of fifty of them? He said: “The reward of fifty of you.” - Abu Dawood (4341); al-Tirmidhi (3085)

“Islam began as something strange and will revert to being something strange, so glad tidings to the strangers.” It was said: Who are they, O Messenger of Allaah? He said: “Those who are righteous when the people are corrupt.” - Saheeh Muslim (145)

*Some Reasons Why Some Who Know The Truth Still Reject It*

Ibn Taimiyyah [رحمه الله] said:

❝A person might know that the truth is [found] with someone else; despite this, he outwardly denies that [truth] due to his envy for him, his wanting to be in a higher position above him, or [his having] desires in [his] soul.❞

[Majmūʿ Al-Fatāwá, (7/191) | Translated By Mikail ibn Mahboob Ariff]

The Prophet ﷺ said,

Verily, you will never leave anything for the sake of Allah Almighty but that Allah will replace it with something better.”

The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) said: "When you hear the adhaan say what the Muazzin is saying except when he says “Hayya ‘ala’l-salah, hayya ‘ala’l-falah (Come to prayer, come to success),” when you should say ‘La hawla wa la quwwata illa Billah (there is no power and no strength except with Allah)." The Wisdom in Reciting Surah al-‘Aalaa and al-Ghaashiyah in the Friday Prayer: Sheikh al-Fawzan

In his response to a question posed about surah al-‘Aalaa[87], sheikh Saalih al-Fawzaan mentioned the following point of benefit:

Allah legislated reciting surah al-‘Aalaa [87] along with surah al-Ghaashiyah [88] in the Friday prayer because these two surahs contain a reminder for the people and alert them to what lies ahead of them – that is, that they will be taken to account and recompensed for their deeds, and that they will be brought forth from the graves and raised up – in order that they might prepare themselves for it and not get carried away with this worldly life. All of this is so that they would be mindful of their hereafter and prepare for what lies ahead of them in that enduring life ahead, and so that they will not be distracted and busied by this current passing life.
This is all part of Allah’s favors towards us and towards mankind at large that He alerts us to what brings about good and rectification and forbids us from what will harm us. This comes from His mercy and goodness towards us – and all praise belongs to Him, and may Allah bestow His blessings and salutations upon our prophet, Muhammad, and upon his family and all of his companions.
