THE EXAMPLE OF THE BELIEVER WHO RECITES THE QUR'AAN

Saheehul-Bukharee: Book of Foods: Chapter 30: A mention of Food no. 5427: From Aboo Moossaa al-Ash'Aree ( رضي الله عنه ) who said Allaah's Messenger (ﷺ) said,

"The example of the Believer who recites the Qur'aan is the example of the citron, Its fragrance is good and Its taste is good. And the example of the Believer who does not recite the Qur'aan is the example of the date, it has no fragrance but its taste is good. And the example of the Hypocrite who recites the Qur'aan is the example of sweet basil: its fragrance is good but its taste is bitter. And the example of the Hypocrite who does not recite the Qur'aan is the example of the colocynth (bitter gourd), it has no fragrance and its taste is bitter." *

* Every Morning two angels come down. One of them says, ‘O Allah, compensate anyone who spends’ and the other says, ‘O Allah, destroy the one who withholds.’”

It is narrated from Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said:

مَا مِنْ يَوْمٍ يُصْبِحُ الْعِبَادُ فِيهِ إلَّا مَلَكَانِ يَنْزِلَانِ فَيَقُولُ أَحَدُهُمَا اللَّهُمَّ أَعْطِ مُنْفِقًا خَلَفًا , وَيَقُولُ الآخَرُ اللَّهُمَّ أَعْطِ مُمْسِكًا تَلَفًا

💠 Reciting the Qur'aan for worldly benefit:

Narrated Al-Hasan (al-Basree) that Imraan bin Husain رضي الله عنه passed by a reciter reciting (the Qur'aan), then he began begging. So he (Imraan) said al-Istirjaa' (إنا لله وإنا إليه راجعون) (Indeed to Allaah we belong and to Him shall we return). Then he said: I heard the Messenger of Allaah (ﷺ) saying:

Whoever recites the Qur'aan, then let him ask Allaah by it. For indeed there will come a people, who will recite the Qur'aan, asking from the people because of it.❞

🚫 There are people who go around from one Masjid to another, getting paid to complete the recitation of the whole Qur’aan in three nights in Ramadhaan (and I am not talking about the wages of regular Imaams of the Masaajid or about those who teach the Qur’aan for a nominal fee)
Imām ibn Qayyim [رحمه الله] said:

Today's Beautiful Hadith is About Charity

Abu Huraira RA reported Allah's Apostle (may peace be upon him) as saying: A man expressed his intention to give charity, so he came out with charity and placed it in the hand of an adulteress. In the morning, the people were talking and saying: charity was given to an adulteress last night. He (the giver of Sadaqa) said: 0 Allah, to Thee be the praise-to an adulteress.

He then again expressed his intention to give charity; so he went out with the charity and placed it in the hand of a rich person. In
the morning the people were talking and saying: Charity was given to a rich person. He (the giver of
charity) said: 0 Allah, to Thee be the praise-to a well-to-do person.

He then expressed his intention to give charity, so he went out with charity and placed it in the hand of a thief. In the morning, the
people were talking and saying: Charity was given to a thief.

So (one of the persons) said: 0 Allah, to
Thee be the praise (what a misfortune it is that charity has been given to) the adulteress, to a rich
person. to a thief!

There came (the angel to him) and he was told: Your charity has been accepted. As for the adulteress (the charity might become the means) whereby she might restrain herself from
fornication. The rich man might perhaps learn a lesson and spend from what Allah has given him,
and the thief might thereby refrain from committing theft.

The Worst of times...

“If you are in an era where speech is without action, and knowledge is without implementation in accordance with it. And this is approved of, then know that you are in the worst of times and among the worst of people.”

❝ How...?

How did the Hanābilah and Ashā’irah unite and liberate Baytul Maqdis despite their differences?

How did the ‘Uthmānis govern the ummah for centuries while they’re Māturīdiyyah?

How did Taqiyyuddīn Ibn Taymiyyah lead the influentials of Damascus - not differentiating between them - when they met Qāzān and he interceded with him on releasing the Muslim and Christian prisoners?

How did many of the Ashā’irah scholars praise Taqiyyuddīn Ibn Taymiyyah while they differed with him?

How was Taqiyyuddīn Ibn Taymiyyah eager on uniting the Ashā’irah & Hanābilah?

The answer: the vastness of their knowledge, their impartiality and contemplating over the aims of the sharī’ah in uniting the ranks of the ummah.

So shall we not tread their way despite our differences, uniting to uplift our ummah again?!

It’s beautiful to listen to Qur’aan being recited. It’s from the Sunnah. RasulAllah (ﷺ) would want to listen to the Qur’an being read. Listening to the Qur’an is an IBAADAH. It’s a great way to try to do Hifdh. الحَمدُ لله
🤲 The Best Dua On Laylatul Qadr

«اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّكَ عَفُوٌّ تُحِبُّ الْعَفْوَ فَاعْفُ عَنِّي»

Allaahumma Innaka Affuwwun, Tuhibbu Al Affwa, Fa’afu ‘Annee

O Allaah, indeed You pardon and You love pardoning so pardon me.

In another narration there is an extra word:

«اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّكَ عَفُوٌّ كَرِيمٌ تُحِبُّ الْعَفْوَ فَاعْفُ عَنِّي»

O Allaah, indeed You pardon [generously] and You love pardoning so pardon me.

An explanation of the status of an extra wording in the Dua’.

Shaykh Al-Albaani after researching this narration in detail says:

❝[Notice]: There occurs in ‘Sunnan Tirmidhi’ after the word 'pardon' an extra word: 'generously!' There is no origin for this word in any of the preceding sources mentioned, or in any other books from which this narration has been quoted.

What is apparent is that this word has been added from some transcribers or publishers, since it is not in the Indian print of ‘Sunnan Tirmidhi’ which has the explanation of ‘Tuhfah Al-Ahwaadi’ by Mubarakfoori, or in any other book. What strengthens this point is that Nisa’ee in some of his narrations collected it from the same chain from which Tirmidhi collected it, and both of them from their Shaykh [Qutaybah Bin Saeed] from his chain without the extra word.❞
