The importance of stopping the bid
"When a bid`ah (an act of innovation in religion) shows up and the scholars don't warn against it, it becomes a Sunnah*."
[Sharf as-haab al-Hadeeth (1/17)]

It is reported that a man once wrote to Ibn ʿUmar – Allāh be pleased with them:
Please write down all knowledge for me. Ibn ʿUmar replied: "Knowledge is vast, but if you can meet Allāh having kept your back light of the burden of people’s blood, your stomach void of people’s wealth and having kept your tongue from [defaming] their honour, then do so."
Al-Dhahabī, Siyar ʾAʿlām Al-Nubalāʾ 3:222

<Explanation of the hadith about honey for loose bowels>
Abu Sa'eed رضي الله عنه said:
"A man came to the Prophet ﷺ and said:
'My brother is suffering from loose bowels.'
Heﷺ said: 'Let him drink Honey.' So he drank it.
Then he came and said: O Messenger of Allahﷺ!
He has drunk honey, but it has only made him more worse.'
So the Messenger of Allahﷺ said: ' Let him drink honey.'" He said: "So he drank it.
Then he came and said: 'O Messenger of Allahﷺ !
I gave him some more to drink, but it has only made him more worse.'"
He said: "The Messenger of Allahﷺ said: 'Allah has told the truth, and your brother's stomach has lied. Give him honey to drink'.
So he gave him some more honey to drink and he was cured.'"
[Saheeh al-Bukhaaree, Book of medicine (5684), Saheeh Muslim (2217)].
Ibn al-Qayyim, in his book, "The Prophetic Medicine" explained that the reason why the man wasn't cured straight after taking the honey was due to much harmful properties in the man's stomach that needed more honey for it to be removed.
[Zaad al-Ma'aad 4/35].

"None of you should wish for death because of some harm/calamity befalls him. But if he has to wish for death, he should say:
« اللَّهُمَّ أَحْيِنِي مَا كَانَتِ الْحَيَاةُ خَيْرًا لِي، وَتَوَفَّنِي إِذَا كَانَتِ الْوَفَاةُ خَيْرًا لِي »

[Majmoo` al-Fataawa (10/40)]
Alee bin Abu Taalib رضي الله عنه said:
“Verily! The relationship between Sabr (patience) and Imaan (Faith) is like how a head is to the body – if the head is cut off, then what good is the body.” He (Alee رضي الله عنه) then raised his voice and said: “Verily! (A person) has no Imaan if he has no Sabr.”[Majmoo` al-Fataawa (10/40)]
Shaykh Ibn ‘Uthaymeen رحمه الله said:
“Joblessness is a disease that kills mental, intellectual, and physical capabilities. As a matter of fact, it is inevitable that human beings should move and work; if they are deprived of work and activity, their brains become beset, their intellects become exhausted, the discipline of their minds becomes weak, and devilish insinuations and malicious thoughts take control of their hearts.”

CHOOSE YOUR FRIENDS WISELY
If you ever choose a friend and informed him of your feelings, do not tell him everything but rather deal with him kindly and gradually as if you are looking after a tree - because if such tree is good the fruits will be good too. And, do not forget to be cautious with him because people change over time.

BEWARE OF YOUR FRIEND A THOUSAND TIMES
Trusting people [unconditionally] and befriending anyone is one of the biggest errors because the worst of enemies are those who used to be friends at one point for they have been exposed to your secrets.
A poet said:
"Beware of your enemy once, but beware of your friend a thousand times. Perhaps a friend might flip, so he would know how to harm you more."
