Shaykh Muḥammad Ibn Ṣāliḥ al-‘Uthaymīn رحمه الله said:

“How often does one of us become better after a sin than he was before!?

A person often commits an error and falls into sin, and then finds his heart extremely saddened, and so he turns to Allaah, repenting to Him much, to the point that he keeps thinking about the sin, full of remorse, repenting continually!”

● [Sharh al-Mumti’ (v. 3, pp. 50-52)]
Imām Ibn al-Jawzī رحمه الله:

All praise be to the One who made the different stages of life.

During these stages, there are those who submit to Allāh’s orders and thereby advance.

Others who are a wasteful of this time and thereby struck with loss and regret.

Indeed, life has been designated so that people [use] to reach the sought [i.e. Paradise] and to remove all that which causes loss and defect.

Whoever lives his life appropriately [as per Allāh’s commands], his life will be a trade generating for him, abundantly multiplied profits, whereas the corrupt one who does not act accordingly, will find his soul ruined.

A good deed is written as ten full deeds to seven hundred and more, and a sin makes the upright return to the state of disturbance he was at before.

Allāh Raises Those Who Rectify Their Hidden Affairs

Ibn Al-Jawzi (rahimahullah) said:

By Allāh, I have seen one who is abundant in praying, fasting much, often staying silent, [one who] shows humility in himself and in his dress. Yet, the hearts [of people] turn away from him, and his status amongst them is not all that!
And I have seen one who attires himself in luxurious clothes, does not have a lot of voluntary acts [of worship], nor does he make a show of humility, yet the hearts go one after the other in feeling love for him. So I reflected on the cause [of this], and then I realised it was what people keep hidden from others [that Allāh knows].

Ibn Al-Jawzī. Ṣayd Al-Khāṭir. Dār Ibn Al-Khuzaimah. Riyadh: 1437H. p. 355.
'Umar Ibn al-Khattaab (RaḍiyAllāhu ʿanhu) once said to al-Ahnaf Ibn Qais (RaḍiyAllāhu ʿanhu),

“O Ahnaf, the more one laughs, the less dignity will he posses.

Whoever jokes (excessively or indecently) is a person who will be taken lightly.

Whoever does something frequently will become known by that thing.

Whoever speaks often, errs often; the more often one errs, the less modesty will he possess;

whoever has a low level of modesty will also have a low level of piety; and when one has a low level of piety, then his heart dies.”

[Sifat-us-Safwah, 1/1449]
Abu Tha’labah reported: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Verily, the most beloved of you and closest to me in the Hereafter are those with the best character. The most hateful of you to me and furthest from me in the Hereafter are those with the worst character: the braggarts, the verbose, the loquacious.”

Ayyoob عليه السلام suffered for eighteen years [1] from different kinds of ailments and diseases in his body, that no part of his body was intact and healthy except for his heart and tongue, with which he remembered Allaah. Yet he remained patient and a Believer in Allaah’s Mercy.

His illness continued for so long and because of the repugnant smell, his people deserted him.

Then he said the Duaa. A Duaa which does not even take a quarter of a line to write:

أَنِّي مَسَّنِيَ الضُّرُّ

{"Indeed, adversity has touched me..."}
📚[Surah al-Anbiyaa (21): 83]

Did he say: “cure me”?

No, he did not say: “cure me”, out of shyness from His Lord!

Rather, he said:

وَأَنتَ أَرْحَمُ الرَّاحِمِينَ

{"…and you are the Most Merciful of all those who show mercy."}
📚[Surah al-Anbiyaa (21): 83]

You, O Allaah, are more merciful to me than I can ever be to myself!

Do you know why he did not say to Allaah: “heal me”? Because he entrusted his affair to Allaah: “O Allaah! My Maulaa (Protector)! If you know - and You are the All-Knower of the unseen and the seen - that if I stay sick is better for me, then let me be upon this sickness. But if You know that my well-being and good health is near, then indeed, distress has seized me.”

Allaahu Akbar! How simple the wordings but how great the meaning! For Allaah تعالى responded saying:

فَاسْتَجَبْنَا لَهُ فَكَشَفْنَا مَا بِهِ مِن ضُرٍّ

{So We answered his call, and We removed the distress that had afflicted him}
📚[Surah al-Anbiyaa (21): 84]

📑Notes:
[1] Wahb Ibn Munabbih said that Ayyoob عليه السلام suffered for three years. Anas said that he suffered for seven years and some months. Humaid said that he suffered for eighteen years. [Stories of the Prophets – Ibn Katheer]
Hasan Al-Basri رحمه الله said,

"People are not pleased with their creator although He provides for them; so how can they be pleased with another creation likethemselves?"

[Al-Bidayah wan-Nihayah v. 9, p. 318]
Narrated by al-Bara’ ibn ‘Aazib (may Allah be pleased with him) said:

“Verily, when the believing slave is about to depart this world and enter the Hereafter, there come down to him angels from heaven with white faces, as if their faces are the sun. They bring with them one of the shrouds of Paradise and some of the perfume of Paradise. They sit with him as far as the eye can see.

Then the Angel of Death comes to him and sits by his head and says, ‘O pure soul, come out to the forgiveness and pleasure of Allah.’ Then his soul comes flowers ing out like a drop of water flowing from a cup.

Then he takes the soul, and no sooner does he seize it but they take it and place it in that shroud and perfume. Then out of it comes the most excellent fragrance of musk to be found on the face of the earth.

Then they ascend with it and they do not pass by any group of angels but the angels ask, ‘Who is this pure soul?’ and they reply, ‘It is So and so the son of So and so’ – using the best names by which he was known on earth. Then they bring it to the lowest heaven, and ask for it to be opened, and it is opened for him. Those who are of high rank in each heaven accompany it until they approach the next heaven, and so it goes until it reaches the seventh heaven.

Then Allah, may He be glorified and exalted, says: ‘Record the book of My slave in ‘Illiyoon (the highest heaven) and take him back to the earth, for I created them from it, and I shall return them to it, then I shall take them out from it again.’

Then his soul is returned to his body and two angels come and make him sit up”

[Musnad al-Imām Ahmad bin Hanbal(17803)]
🌹Exposing Others

Ja’far Ibn Muhammad As-Sādiq رحمه الله said:

“Whoever tries to uncover the affairs of others and expose them to the people will have the hidden affairs of his own household uncovered and exposed to the people.”

[Hilyat Al-Awliyā’, 3/196. Translated By Abū Ruqayyah 'Abd Us-Samad]
Fa shakarallahu lahu - Allah thanked him?
For what deed?

Narrated Abu Huraira:
Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, "While a man was walking he felt thirsty and went down a well and drank water from it. On coming out of it, he saw a dog panting and eating mud because of excessive thirst.

The man said, 'This (dog) is suffering from the same problem as that of mine.

So he (went down the well), filled his shoe with water, caught hold of it with his teeth and climbed up and watered the dog.

Allah thanked him for his (good) deed and forgave him."

The people asked, "O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)! Is there a reward for us in serving (the) animals?"
He replied, "Yes, there is a reward for serving any animate."
[Sahih Bukhari - https://sunnah.com/bukhari:2363]

Most of us would shoo a dog away calling him Najis and impure instead of trying to help him. When Allah helps you, make sure you are helping others.

Allah quenched the thirst of this man and provided him with water. What is Allah blessing you with that you can share with or facilitate for others?

If you got married help someone else get married.
If Allah blessed you with a job, help someone get rizq.
If Allah blessed you with knowledge, help someone gain ilm.
If Allah blessed you with food and water, help someone quench their thirst and hunger.
If Allah blessed you with influence and power, make sure you stand for justice and truth.

📚 Whoever relieves a believer’s distress of the distressful aspects of this world, Allah will rescue him from a difficulty of the difficulties of the Hereafter. Whoever alleviates [the situation of] one in dire straits who cannot repay his debt, Allah will alleviate his lot in both this world and in the Hereafter. Whoever conceals [the faults of] a Muslim, Allah will conceal [his faults] in this life and the Hereafter. Allah is helping the servant as long as the servant is helping his brother......"
- Prophet Muhammad ﷺ

❝Not everybody can be famous but everybody can be great, because greatness is determined by service.❞
- Martin Luther King Jr.

Service isn't limited to raising 1 Million dollars online to help a cause.
Service is making someone smile.
Service is keeping quiet when you can be rude and humble someone.
Service is gifting a single mother a month's supply of diapers.
Service is giving doing dishes for your parents on the weekend.
Service is hiding someone's faults.
Service is helping your sister in law with her kids.
Service is removing a stone from the roadside.
Service is encouraging someone when they are doubting themselves.
Service is planting a tree the birds can benefit from.

Don't limit your definition of service. Always aim for greatness with the resources you have been given. You don't have to be a Millionaire to be of service and to achieve greatness.

You never know for which sincere act no matter how small in the eyes in the world will make Allah forgive all of your sins and write Jannah for you.

🤲 May Allah continue to use us for His deen, grant us tawfeeq to be sincere and bless us with His firdous al alaa without hisaab - Allahumma ameen.

📚 Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying:
Verily, Allah, the Exalted and Glorious, would say on the Day of Resurrection:

'O' son of Adam, I was hungry and you did not feed me.'
He will answer: 'How could I feed you? You are the Lord of the worlds!'
Allah will say: 'Did you not know that my slave so and so who is the son of so and so felt hunger, and you'did not feed him.
Alas, had you fed him you would have found that (i.e. reward) with Me.'

'O' son of Adam, I was thirsty and you gave Me nothing to drink.' He will reply: 'How could I give You drink? You are the Lord of the worlds!'
Allah will say: 'Did you not know that my slave so and so, the son of so and so felt thirsty and you did not give him drink.
Alas, if you had given him, you would have found that (i.e. reward) with me.'
'O' son of Adam, I became sick and you did not visit Me.'
He will answer: 'How can I visit You? You are the Lord of the worlds!'
Allah will say: 'Did you not know that my slave so and so, the son of so and so became sick and you did not visit him. Alas, had you visited him, you would have found Me with him."

𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝗵𝗼𝘄 Muhammadur Rasoolullah صلى الله عليه وسلم missed informing his ummah to start working for the "Restoration of the Caliphate" and just kept himself confined to keeping folks under muslim authority to stay patient with these rulers... (See Saheeh Muslim)

𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝘄𝗵𝘆 Muhammadur Rasoolullah ﷺ informed us of this exact time when we will be split, divided, under evil people, yet he ﷺ did not think it was appropriate to even mention that
muslims must fasten their belts towards this "primary" goal.. aka thee PAN green earth Khilafah. Not a single mention or order by the Sharih ﷺ himself in the entire corpus of the shari'ah of such a mighty religion of haqq !!

𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝗵𝗼𝘄 the most powerful Prophet ﷺ ever to set foot on earth whose true Prophecies are unmatched till date and unparalleled even in the minutest of details like dipping the fly entirely in a cup , did NOT seem it FIT to talk about such a huge obligation on regular muslims during such an era of turmoil and depression for the ummah.

𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 the Prophecies of Muhammad ﷺ all indicate that Muslims will not triumph in the end times except by swords ! And that has no closeness to the current era we are in.

𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 he ﷺ even informed us in an hadeeth that there shall be a time when Muslims will be fighting one other like donkeys yet he did not even tell them to unite for a Khilafah or talk about it but he only mentioned Jihad of Asqalan (near Palestine and to protect Palestine) and how that is a strongly hand hold (الرباط) .

𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 he ﷺ said that he has not left out anything that is worthy for our salvation except by mentioning it, but he did not see it fit to talk about coaxing ordinary folks about restoration of Khilafah by yapping but doing nothing.

𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 the entire Qur'an wherein Allah mentions that those who do not rule by the rule of Allah is not accusing them of only Kufr but also gives out varying degrees of sin of it depending on situations (either Kufr, either Fisq or Dhulm)..

I guess muslims must have firm belief that he knew best what is more important for muslims in such times and he was the explainer of the Qur'an and he knew that muslims shouldn't be coaxed into doing things that they can't bear.

I am sure he ﷺ knew that mere payment of lip service (for coaxing others) is more closer to Nifaq (hypocrisy) because it decouples actions (A'maal) with beliefs (Eeman) while actions are the forte of the believers !

Next time anyone wants you to merely "talk about Khilafah" , tell him about the command of Rasoolullâh ﷺ to go defend the Land of Asqalan (Palestine) instead which he would never be able to do owing to the Nifaq in his heart. When it comes to actual "actions" the Munafiqs back out, when it comes to talking and raising awareness all day long, everyone is doing that.

Here is the hadeeth wherein the Prophet ﷺ actually commands us to do something tangible in times when muslims will be without proper rulers and fighting with each others like wild donkeys (يتكادمون عليه تكادم الحمر ) ie EXACTLY in our times !! He commanded us to safeguard Asqalan which these online keyboard warriors will never openly post about fearing their profiles getting vanished.

Narrated Ibn ‘Abbās that the Prophet ﷺ said: “The first of this matter (of governance) is Prophethood and mercy, then caliphate and mercy, then kingship (Mulk) and mercy, (then governance (Imārah) and mercy), then they will bite each other for it just as zebras (wild donkeys) bite each other..."

Narrated in at-Ṭabarānī’s Al-Mu‘jam al-Kabīr and authenticated by al-Haythamī and al-Albānī

*و ‎#غزة من ‎#عسقلان

May Allah guide us to the right understanding and make the Qur'an and Sunnah sufficient for us.
Don't forget "Sa'at-ul Istijabah" (a time when du'a is answered) today.

All you have to do is make dua before Maghrib!

Note:
It's NOT 'Salat' (prayer), it's Sa'at (time) of istijabah (response).

Jâbir (may Allah be pleased with him) relates that the Prophet Sall Allahu 'alayhi wa sallam said:
“Friday is comprised of twelve hours. There is one in which a Muslim who asks Allah for something will have it granted to him. Seek it in the last hour after `Asr.”

[Sunan Abî Dâwûd (1048),
Sunan al-Nasâ’î (1390)
and
Mustadrak al-Hâkim(1032)]
There is so much wisdom in this hadith of Aishah (ra). This is the Quranic methodology of creating a lasting change in someone. It shows us why Quran was gradually revealed and it teaches us why certain verses were revealed in the Makkan period and other verses in the Madani period.

📚 Aisha, may Allah be pleased with her, said,
❝Verily, the first verses to be revealed were from the shorter chapters at the end of the Quran.

In them is mentioned Paradise and Hellfire, until people were firmly established upon Islam and verses of lawful and unlawful were revealed.

If the first verse to be revealed was ‘do not drink wine,’ they would have said, ‘we will never stop drinking wine.’

And if the first verse to be revealed was ‘do not commit adultery,’ they would have said, ‘we will never stop committing adultery.'❞
[Bukhari]

Next time you personally advice someone always analysize what the state of their heart and eeman is. Well we cannot truly do that but what I mean is don't advice someone struggling to offer one salaah to stand the entire night in prayer. Don't overwhelm people with advice no matter how well meaning.

Gauge their temperament, their sincerity and their seriousness for the deen. And if you cannot do that guide them to someone more righteous. It's better to say "I don't know" instead of giving advice for the sake of giving it and harming someone.

The denoscriptions of Paradise and Hellfire in the Qur'an and Sunnah should increase our resolve to perform good deeds to be rewarded in the Hereafter. When that is established other commandments of halal and haraam will easily flow without resistance. In fact, it is a major sin to despair of the mercy of Allah.

Soften their heart with glad tidings of paradise and build fear with reminders of the reality of hellfire.

Balance hope and fear so the emaan stays afloat.

📖 ❝Say: O My servants who have transgressed against themselves, do not despair of the mercy of Allah. Verily, Allah forgives all sins. Verily, it is He Who is the Forgiving, the Merciful.❞
{Surah Az-Zumar 39: Verse 53}

Therefore, we should have a healthy balance of fear and hope in our worship of Allah (ﷻ). The idea of balance in worship is expressed eloquently in Ibn Al-Qayyaim’s metaphor of the bird on its journey to Allah.

🕊️ 🕊️ 🕊️
❝The heart on its journey towards Allah (ﷻ) is like that of a bird. Love is its head, and fear and hope are its two wings. When the head is healthy, then the two wings will fly well. When the head is cut off, the bird will die. When either of two wings is damaged, the bird becomes vulnerable to every hunter and predator.❞
(Madarij As-Salikeen)

🤲🏻 May Allah (ﷻ) protect us from hearts that are not fearful and hearts that despair. May Allah make us a means of guiding many with hikmah and let us meet people who are sincere, open to change and submission when they learn the truth - Allahumma ameen!
❝A calamity that makes you turn to Allah is better for you than a blessing which makes you forget the remembrance of Allah.❞
- Ibn Taymiyyah رَحِمَ اللهُ عَلَيْهِ

A life where you have to call out to Allah, ask Allah for help and need Allah for your every affair is better than a life where you get everything without ever calling out to Allah.

Your hardship has made you shed tears infront of Allah.
Your burden has increased the number of prostrations you make.
Your mountains of grief has increased the amount of charity you give and the number of people you help.
Your loneliness has attached your heart to Quran like never before.
Your aching heart now finds solace in listening to the seerah of Prophet ﷺ.
Your emptiness craves the moisture of dhikr on your tongue.

And in doing so your burden was replaced by sweetness of eeman.
The darkness of your duniya is now the light you will see in akhira.

The Prophet ﷺ said: "The most beloved people to Allah (swt) are those who help and benefit others the most, and the most beloved actions to Allah (swt), is pleasure and happiness that you cause to enter the heart of a Muslim, or to solve one of his problems, or to pay off his debt, or to prevent him from being hungry, and working to help my Muslim brother is more beloved to me than making I’tikaf in this masjid for a month, and whoever controls his anger, Allah will conceal his faults, and whoever controls his ill feelings, Allah (swt) will fill his heart with contentment on the day of Judgment, and whoever strives to help fulfill a need for his Muslim brother, Allah will make his feet steadfast on the day of Judgment, and bad manners ruin good deeds just like vinegar ruins honey." (Sheikh Al-Albani said it is a sound hadith)

❝When the poor and needy come to you, know that your Lord has honored you beyond measure.❞

Aisha رضي الله عنها donated nearly 80,000 dinar when she had nearly 100 patches in her skirt. She used to add musk to the money she used to donate and when asked why she replied "This money falls into Allah's hand before it falls into the hand of the beggar".

SubhanAllah!

Somehow no matter how rich we are, we are getting stuck with "even a date is a charity" as example than like the ones where sahaba donated their entire FARMS OF DATE TREES, entire wealth, half of their wealth.

"And every soul will be fully compensated [for] what it did; and He is most knowing of what they do."
{Surat Az-Zumar 39: Verse 70}

"....And they ask you what they should spend.
Say, "The excess [beyond needs]."
Thus Allah makes clear to you the verses [of revelation] that you might give thought.''
{Surah Al Baqarah 2 : Verse 219}

Imam Ibn Al-Qayyim رَحِمَ اللهُ عَلَيْهِ said :
Shaykh Ul Islam (Ibn Taymiyyah رَحِمَ اللهُ عَلَيْهِ ) used to race towards the fulfilling of people's needs very earnestly, because he knew that everytime he helped someone else, Allah would help him.
[Raudhatul Muhibbeen, 1/168]

True charity, is when we give to others, what we would like to keep for ourselves.

🤲 May Allah make us generous, make us those who feel deeply for those in need and protect us from being stingy and those who fear poverty due to charity - Allahumma ameen!
