What do we say to people who go to Haj and Umrah and post their selfies on social media?
They also make videos with songs and dance.
So the question is whom was the ibadah done to? Or what was the purpose of this worship?was it solely for Allah azwajal or was it Ar Ria's show-off for Duniya?
Clueless and confused
Where is Ibadha here? Will our ibadah be accepted or not? What were our intentions while we performed these acts of ibadha?
Well, let’s ponder over this. In Shaa Allah!!
Because any/every act of ibadah is between Allah and his slaves. Secret and pure. Solely for the sake of Allah azwajal!!

Embarking on the journey of healing with Allah's guidance is a momentous step towards finding solace. Today, I resumed my counseling sessions, seeking to address the enduring childhood trauma that has shaped my life. In this process, I came to realise that I often employ humor as a shield to shield myself from the depths of my pain.

Though I possess a commendable level of self-awareness, I find it challenging to establish an emotional connection with my experiences. Instead, I tend to intellectualise and analyse them, striving to comprehend their impact on the choices I make as an adult.

One area we delved into was the weight of guilt I carry for my three children who grew up amidst the tumult of domestic violence. Throughout my life, I have alternated between being a victim and a survivor. However, today, my yearning is to emerge as a wholesome individual, one who recognises and embraces the love bestowed upon her by the Creator. My aspiration is to flourish and nurture a profound connection with Allah.

During the session, we explored the striking parallels between my mother's exploitation within her marriage and the recurring patterns of exploitation I experienced in my own marital relationships. Moreover, I shared the distressing realisation that my father manipulated the Catholic religion to further his own agendas. Regrettably, I encountered a similar manipulation of Islam within my marriages.

In this journey towards healing and self-discovery, I find solace and guidance in the wisdom of the Quran and the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). As it is written in Surah Ash-Sharh (Chapter 94), verse 5-6: "Indeed, with hardship, there is relief. Indeed, with hardship, there is relief." This reassures me that even in the face of adversity, there is hope for solace and ease.

Furthermore, the Hadith reminds me of the importance of seeking Allah's help and guidance in times of difficulty. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, "Allah the Almighty said: 'I am as My servant thinks I am. I am with him when he makes mention of Me. If he makes mention of Me to himself, I make mention of him to Myself; and if he makes mention of Me in an assembly, I make mention of him in an assembly better than it. And if he draws near to Me a hand's span, I draw near to him an arm's length; and if he draws near to Me an arm's length, I draw near to him a fathom's length. And if he comes to Me walking, I go to him at speed.'" This Hadith reminds me of Allah's unwavering presence and His willingness to respond to my supplications.

With Allah's guidance, the support of counseling, and the profound teachings of Islam, I am hopeful that I can overcome the scars of my past and embark on a path of healing, growth, and connection with my Creator.

The Two Cures

Ibn Al-Qayyim [رحمه الله] said:

❝Soorah Al-Fatiha comprises of two types of cures:

1. Cure for hearts
2. Cure for bodies

I used to be affected by pains and I would hasten to read Soorah Al-Fatiha and wipe myself with it, and it was as if pebbles would fall off me.❞

Ibn Al-Mubārak رحمه الله would spend so much time in his home, so it was said to him:

"Are you not lonely?"

He replied:

"How could I be lonely when I have with me the narrations of the Prophet and his Companions?"

Righteousness and Sinfulness become Apparent on Ones Face...

Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah(رحمه الله):

The person who is righteous and honest, his honesty is manifest from the radiance on his face, and his honesty can be known from the glow that is on his face, likewise the (opposite for the) sinful one and the liar. The older a person gets, the more this sign becomes apparent. Thus a person as a child would have a bright face, however if he becomes a sinful person, adamant on committing sins, at the older stages in his life, an ugly face would manifest that which he used to internalize, and the opposite is also true.

It has been narrated that Ibn Abbaas (radiyallaahu ‘anhu) said,

“Indeed righteousness illuminates the heart, radiates the face, strengthens the body, increases provision, and produces a love in the hearts of the creation for that person. Whereas sinfulness darkens the heart, greys the face, weakens the body, and produces hatred in the hearts of the creation for that person.”

It is possible that a person may not intentionally lie; he may even be a person who makes a great effort in ibaadah and has zuhd (abstains from pleasures of this life that are lawful). However he has false, incorrect ‘aqeedah regarding either Allaah, His deen or His Messenger (sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) or His righteous servants. And what is on the inside affects what is on the outside. Thus, this false, incorrect ‘aqeedah that he thought was true and correct reflects on his face, and his face would be dark in accordance with the level of falsehood he possesses. As it has been narrated that ‘Uthmaan ibn Affaan (radiyallaahu ‘anhu) said:

“No one ever hides evil within themselves except that Allaah makes it manifest from his facial outlook and the statements his tongues utters.”

Hence some of the salaf used to say:

“If a person of innovation were to dye his beard every day, the dye of innovation would remain on his face.”

On the day of judgment this would be very clear as Allaah says,

“And on the Day of Resurrection you will see those who lied against Allaah their faces will be black. Is there not in Hell an abode for the arrogant ones?” [Soorat uz-Zumar, 39:60]

He ta’ala also said,

“On the Day when some faces will become white and some faces will become black; as for those whose faces will become dark (to them will be said): ‘Did you reject Faith after accepting it? Then taste the torment for rejecting Faith.’ ” [Soorah Aali-Imraan, 3:106]

Ibn Abbaas and others have said regarding this verse:

“The bright faces will be ahlus-sunnah, and dark faces will be the people of bid’ah and division.”

When a camel complained about its owner to the prophet(PBUH)

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) entered an orchid belonging to an Ansari and saw there a camel. When it saw him, it began to groan and its eyes shed tears. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) approached it and patted it on the hump and the base of its head until it quieted down. Then he (ﷺ) asked, "Who is the owner of this camel? To whom does it belong?" An Ansari youth stepped forward and said: "It is mine O Messenger of Allah!" He said, "Do you not fear Allah in respect of this beast which Allah has placed in your possession? This camel is complaining to me that you starve it and put it to toil."

Allah swears by the 10 days of Dhul hijjah
To guide us in our lives, Allah’s word must be in our hearts and embodied in our actions. That's a sign of heart that's alive.

A soft heart is one that has not fallen into despair and whose intimate relationship with Allah Most High and His Messenger (Allah bless him and give him peace) is safeguarded.

The Quran was sent to revive our hearts and give life to our souls.

The Prophet Saws life and his words also revive our hearts.

This world, dunya in Arabic, is the lowest form of life because it is temporary, compared to the hereafter, which is everlasting. The scholars have mentioned that life in this world is a fleeting moment, like an hour of time. We must strive to make it an hour of obedience and worship to Allah.

The Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace) narrated, “ I swear by Allah this world compared to the Hereafter is like if one of you dipped his finger into the sea; let him see how much water he comes back with.” (Muslim)

In these blessed nights, revive your heart, turn to Allah, and seek forgiveness and lighten your load.

May Allah allow all of us to leave this month, forgiven.

🔴"Ahl as-Sunnah agreed that faith is words and deeds, or verbal affirmation, belief in the heart and physical actions.

Ash-Shafa‘i (may Allah have mercy on him)
said: The consensus of the Sahabah and Tabi‘in, those who came after them and those whom we met, was:

🔴Faith is words, deeds and intentions, and one of the three is not sufficient without the others.

End quote from Usul I‘tiqad Ahl as-Sunnah by al-Lalka’i (5/956, no. 1593); Majmu‘ al-Fatawa by Ibn Taymiyah (7/209).

🔴Al-Bukhari (may Allah have mercy on him) said: I narrated from a thousand of the scholars and more, but I only narrated from those who said that faith is words and deeds. I did not narrate from those who said that faith is words [only]."(Usul I‘tiqad Ahl as-Sunnah by al-Lalka’i 5/959, no. 1597).

🔴Abu ‘Ubayd al-Qasim ibn Salaam (may Allah have mercy on him) said: These are the names of those who said that faith is words and deeds, and it may increase and decrease. He named one hundred and thirty-three scholars, then he said: All of them say that faith is words and deeds, it may increase and decrease. This is the view of Ahl as-Sunnah and it is also our view. And Allah is the source of strength. Quoted by Ibn Battah in al-Ibanah (2/814, no. 1117); Shaykh al-Islam in Majmu‘ al-Fatawa (7/309).

Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyah (may Allah have mercy on him) said: More than one narrated that Ahl as-Sunnah wa’l-Hadith are unanimously agreed that faith is words and deeds."(Majmu‘ al-Fatawa 7/330).

It was narrated from Anas ibn Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: “There are three characteristics, whoever attains them has found the sweetness of faith: when Allah and His Messenger are dearer to him than all else, when he loves a man and does not love him except for the sake of Allah, and when he would hate to return to disbelief as he would hate to be thrown into the fire.” Narrated by al-Bukhari (16) and Muslim (43).

🔴The believers are ONLY those who, when Allah is mentioned, their 🖤hearts become fearful, and when His verses are recited to them, it increases them in faith; and upon their Lord they rely,

🔴The ones who establish prayer, and from what We have provided them, they spend
Those are the believers, truly. For them are degrees [of high position] with their Lord and forgiveness and noble provision} [al-Anfal 8:2-4].

Establishing prayer and giving zakah are physical actions, and here they are regarded as part of faith.
And Allah, may He be exalted, says (interpretation of the meaning):
{And never would Allah have caused you to lose your faith} [al-Baqarah 2:143].

The Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: “Faith has seventy-odd – or sixty-odd – branches, the best of which is saying La ilaha illa Allah, and the least of which is removing something harmful from the road, and modesty is a branch of faith.” Narrated by al-Bukhari (9) and Muslim (35).

Physical actions, such as purification, prayer, fasting, Hajj, jihad and so on.

The evidence that physical actions are part of faith include the verses in which Allah, may He be exhorted, says (interpretation of the meaning):
{And they were not commanded except to worship Allah, [being] sincere to Him in religion, inclining to truth, and to establish prayer and to give zakah. And that is the correct religion} [al-Bayyinah 98:5]

{The believers are only the ones who have believed in Allah and His Messenger and then doubt not but strive with their properties and their lives in the cause of Allah. It is those who are the truthful} [al-Hujurat 49:15]."

ANSWERS COME WHEN THE TIME COMES

If Shaytān ever whispers to your heart saying, 'How long have you been supplicating but you still see no answer?'

Let your answer be, 'I worship Him with my supplications, while I am confident and certain that my supplications shall be answered. Yet, maybe the answer is postponed to bring forth a goodness that is for my interest for answers come when the time comes. And even if no answer is noted, it suffices the humility and worship I am in.'

Returning to the family after finishing from a trip or need

Abu Hurairah (r) reported:
The Messenger of Allah ( صلى الله عليه وسلم) said, "Travelling has a portion of torment because it deprives a traveler of his food, drink, and sleep. So when one of you has accomplished his purpose of journey, let him return home quickly." [Muslim 1344]
Ibn Mas’ūd رضي الله عنه said:

“When you hear Allāh saying, ‘O you who believe,’ give it your full attention because it is either some good you are being commanded with, or some evil you are being prohibited from.”
