Abu Hurairah (RA) narrated that: The Messenger of Allah (Sallellahu Alaihi Wasallam) said: "The believer's soul is suspended by his debt until it is settled for him."

(Jami` at-Tirmidhi, Vol. 2, Book 10, Hadith 114)

A beautiful reminder to settle your debts before the Day your life's debts are due. Today, many people have loans and borrowed money from people with little idea of how they'll repay them. Always work towards repaying those who you owe, you don't want to be left in a suspended state not because of your deeds but because of debts that are waiting to be paid to someone.

«a morning with the Salaf»

It is reported that Imam Al-Awzai (Allah have mercy on him) said:

"At the time of Fajr, or a while before it, the Salaf would be as if birds were sitting on their heads: (still) concentrating on themselves [and their worship], so much so that even if one of their closest friends came to them after having been parted from them, they would not notice him. They would remain in this state until just before sunrise. Then, they would meet each other and sit in the circles. The first thing they would discuss is the matter of their afterlife and what would become of them in the hereafter. Then they would begin the circles of Qurān and Fiqh study.'

BE A BENEFIT TO OTHERS

Benefit people in any way you can for His sake.

You won't know the impact of the knowledge you shared that moved them, the thoughts you expressed that touched them, the advice you gave when they needed it the most, the charity you did that helped them. ‎Don't become like those people who sit and spend their time in idle and waste their capabilities by not using them.

‎The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said,

‎"...The best of people are those who are most beneficial to people.”

Will you run, walk or crawl over it?

Shaykh Ibn ‘Uthaymeen may Allah have mercy on him said:

"The siraat is a bridge that will be set up over Hell; it is narrower than a hair and sharper than a sword. People will pass over it according to their deeds. Whoever used to hasten to do good deeds in this world will pass quickly over the siraat; whoever was slow to do good deeds and whoever used to mix righteous deeds with bad deeds, and his bad deeds were not forgiven by Allah, may slip into the Fire; may Allah protect us.

People will vary in the ways in which they pass over the siraat. Some will pass in the blink of an eye, some will pass like lightning, some will pass like the wind, some will pass like swift horses, some will pass like fast camels, some will walk, some will crawl, and some will be thrown into Hell. No one will pass over this siraat except the believers only. As for the disbelievers, they will not pass over it, because on the Day of Resurrection they will be driven directly to Hell."

End quote from Sharh Riyaadh as-Saaliheen (1/470)

“There is nothing more important for our children than living and dying on Islam. No, not good grades, college degrees, noscripts, money, marriage, car, house, etc. These things are important, but not nearly as important as their iman.**

If we prioritize these things over deen, then we have taught them to live and love the dunya over the akhirah. So then don't be surprised when they grow up and leave the akhirah for the dunya. However, the dunya is only temporal and the akhirah is eternal.

The greatest accomplishment is being together with our children in jannah. Otherwise, what is the real purpose of this life? It's more important that our children make dua for us at our graves, not just being able to pay for them.”

Every person has to experience 8 things no matter who they are.

Happiness and Sadness,
Meeting and Seperation,
Difficulty and Ease,
Illness and wellbeing.

So don’t be shocked and surprised when you go from happiness to sadness, and from wellbeing to illness, etc.

Allah ﷻ says:

And We will surely test you with something of fear and hunger and a loss of wealth and lives and fruits, but give good tidings to the patient. (Surat Al-Baqarah: 155).

One of the special features of Fajr prayer on Friday is that it is Sunnah to recite Soorat al-Sajdah in the first rak’ah and Soorat al-Insaan in the second.

It was narrated from Abu Hurayrah (may Allaah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) used to recite in Fajr prayer in Fridays Alif-Laam-Meem Tanzeel (Soorat al-Sajdah) in the first rak’ah and Hal ata ‘ala’l-insaan heenun min al-dahr lam yakun shay’an madhkooran (Soorat al-Insaan) in the second.

Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 851; Muslim, 880.

A reminder to myself and my fellow Muslims. Life is indeed short; every day, we hear of people who have passed away, many who seemed perfectly fine and healthy. I could be that person and so could you.
Knowing that we will die means that we need to be ready. Getting ready means we need to know what we will face at the time of death. When death comes upon us, we will be on the next leg of our journey to Allah. The Muslim will hope for angels to descend upon him/her; angels who will comfort and console them. But for that to happen, we need to remain steadfast upon our Faith and stay the course.
Allah also tells us to fear Him and prepare by way of obedience to Him and taking stock of ourselves. Worry about what Allah sees of us, not His creation.
He also urges us to hasten to do good to attain His forgiveness and secure a place for ourselves in al-Jannah (Paradise).

The bottom line is that we need to be conscious and aware of the fact that Allah is Ever-Watchful over us and that we will meet Him very soon. As such, we have to strive to keep our duty to Him (uphold our Religion), not compromise our beliefs and remain focused. Watering down the Religion to seem less "extreme" and be accepted by "others" is not an option for one who is preparing for that inevitable Meeting. We WILL be questioned by Allah.

Brothers and Sisters,
Let's keep this in mind and live our lives accordingly. Pleasing Allah Alone is what being a Muslim is about. We need to keep the goal in mind so we do not waiver and do not stray.

OUR STRENGTH AND DESTRUCTION.

This is how Muslims lose power, people and property even with an arsenal of weapons at their disposal. Their strength does not lie in external resources regardless of their magnitude but in the internal conviction that Allah, Islam and Muhammad ﷺ are given the importance it truly deserves sans any form of corruption.

There is indeed an excellent example in the Messenger of Allah for anyone whose hope is in Allah and the Last Day and [who] remembers Allaah. (Al Qurʾān 33:21)

“Let there arise out of you a group of people inviting to all that is good (Islam), enjoining Al-Ma‘roof (i.e. Islamic Monotheism and all that Islam orders one to do) and forbidding Al-Munkar (polytheism and disbelief and all that Islam has forbidden). And it is they who are the successful”
[Aal ‘Imraan 3:104]

The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said:
“Whoever among you sees an evil action, then let him change it with his hand [by taking action]; if he cannot, then with his tongue [by speaking out]; and if he cannot, then with his heart – and that is the weakest of faith.”

A TRUE MAN

▪️Ibn al-Jawzī رحمه الله said:

‎"Do you know what a man is? A true man is he who finds himself alone with sins, and has the power to commit them and his lusts urges him to quench its thirst, but he thinks about Allāh looking at him, so he feels embarrassed from angering Him

and thus his desire goes away.

But it seems that you only abandon things that you do not have desire for, or things that are not desirable in the first place, or even things that you are unable to have! This is your habit!.”

HOW WOULD YOU FEEL?

Present to yourself the most beloved thing to you in this life whereby if it were taken away from you, you would not feel any pleasure in this life.
Then imagine it was taken away from you and a barrier was placed between both of you in your most needy moment, how would you feel?
Imagine this feeling even though this beloved thing can be replaced, so reflect over the thing that can never be replaced.

Anything, if you lose it, can be replaced -- but there isn't a replacement for Allāh if you lose [a connection with] Him.

The Number of Rows of the People of Paradise

Ibn Buraidah narrated from his father that the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w)said:

"The people of Paradise are a hundred and twenty rows, eighty of them are from this nation, and forty are from the rest of the nations." [At Tirmidhi 2546 Hasan]

Imam An Nawawi said:

This means that they will represent two-thirds of the people of Heaven. The Prophet first gave the hadith that tells them that they will be half of the people of Heaven. Subsequently, God’s generosity granted them more, and the Prophet was told that the people of Heaven will stand in rows; he then passed this information to his companions. There are many other similar cases in the Prophet’s hadiths, such as the one that mentions that prayer in a congregation earns twenty-seven or twenty-five times the reward of a person praying by himself. [Sharh Al Muslim vol 2]
