SHAYKH UL-ISLAM:YAZID IBN HAROON
Yazid ibn Haroon al-Sulami al-Wāsitee (d. 206 AH) was one of the last scholars of the 3rd & the last of the best generations(Atbāʿ al-Tābiʿeen).
He was known for being staunch in Sunnah & refuting the innovators. He was also a highly trustworthy scholar & narrator of Hadith. His narrations are found in all the 6books of Hadith. Imam Ahmed narrates some 400 Hadiths directly 4m him in the Musnad.
He tried his best to get Bishr al-Mareesi, the Jahmite figurehead, executed. This was b4 the Fitna of Khalq ul-Qur'an was adopted & enforced by the state. Sometimes, probably out of frustration, he would he even say, isn't there any1 who would assassinate him?
It has been reported that the Caliph, al-Mamoon, used to ask about Yazeed, has he died (yet)? Out of the fear of his opposition to Jahmite beliefs, al-Mamoon only started the inquisition after he had died.
In recent times, there r many contemptible matters which only appeared after Shaykh ul-Islam Ibn Baz(d.1420)passed away.

🔴 *Why Muslims don’t celebrate the Mawlid*
1️⃣ We don’t celebrate the Mawlid because we love the Sunnah of our Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم
2️⃣ We don’t celebrate the Mawlid because it’s not from the Sunnah.
3️⃣ We don’t celebrate the Mawlid because it is not from Islam.
4️⃣ We don’t celebrate the Mawlid because it is not the practice of those who loved him the most , Abu Bakr, Umar, Uthman, Ali and the rest of the companions, we say to those who celebrate the Mawlid, are you more guided than them ? Do you love the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم more than them ?
5️⃣ Loving the prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم is shown by following his Sunnah not by celebrating his birthday.
6️⃣ None of the 4 Imams - Abu Hanifa, Malik, Shaafi’ and Ahmed - celebrated the Mawlid. Neither did Imam Al-Bukhari & Al Imam Muslim or any Muslim who lived in the first 400 years of this Ummah, so we say to those who celebrate the Mawlid, are you more guided than them ? Do you love the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم more than them ?
7️⃣ The person who celebrates the Mawlid and calls others to it is an innovator and has fallen into a major sin.
8️⃣ Aisha May Allah be please with her - The mother of the believers and the most beloved person to the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم - lived for 40 years after the death of her husband صلى الله عليه وسلم and she never once celebrated the Mawlid , so we say to those who celebrate the Mawlid, are you more guided than her ? Do you love the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم more than her ?
9️⃣ Dedicating this month to studying the Seerah or giving in charity or any act of worship such as Dhikr is considered a form of celebration and as such an innovation which is rejected by the Shareeah, these acts are to be performed throughout the year.
1️⃣0️⃣ Whoever is celebrating the Mawlid, ask yourself this , when did the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم die ?
The Answer: He died on Monday the 12th of Rabi’ Al-Awal year 11 after the Hijra. So we ask you, why are you celebrating the death of our prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم ? Which one of us should be accused of hating the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم ? One of the greatest calamities to befall this ummah is the death of our Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم and you celebrate on the occasion of his death !
The prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم said: (When one of you is afflicted with a calamity , then let him remember the calamity of my death for it is the greatest calamity.) Narratted by Darimi and graded as Sahih by Albani.

A man who regulalrly ill-treats his wife, shows her no respect, doesn't have any concern for her feelings, consistently abuses her in different ways but spoils her on her birthday and showers her with gifts on their anniversary doesn't truly love her. His claim of love for her is rejected. Similarly, a woman who constantly disobeys her husband, pays no attention to his needs, shows him no respect, regularly complains about the smallest of things but makes him a feast on his birthday and plans a special day on their anniversary doesn't truly love him. Her claim of love for him is fake.
So what about those who have no regard for the sunnah of the Prophet (salla Allahu 'alayhi wa sallam) and the shari'ah, those who disobey Allah and His Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him), neglect their basic duties such as salah, hijab, dutifulness to parents etc but celebrate his birthday (mawlid); can we take their claim of love for the Prophet (salla Allahu 'alayhi wa sallam) seriously? Clearly not, this claim is rejected.
Love for him is known by observing one's mannerisms, adherence to the Religion and defense of it.

Ibn 'Umar رضي الله عنه said, "There was a time when no one was more ennoscriptd to a person's money than his Muslim brother. Now people love their dirhams and dinars more than their Muslim brother.
I heard the Prophet, (ﷺ), say, 'How many a neighbour will be brought together with his neighbour on the Day of Rising! He will say,"Lord, this man closed his door to me & refused to show me common kindness!"'"

Abu Sa'id al-Khudri reported:
The Messenger of Allāh (ﷺ) said: “You will most certainly follow the ways of those who came before you, inch by inch and step by step so much so that if they had entered into the hole of the lizard, you would follow them in this also. We said: Allah's Messenger, do you mean Jews and Christians (by your words)" those before you"? He said: “Who else?”
[Sahīh Muslim 2669]
Jabir bin 'Abdullāh narrated:
The Messenger of Allāh (ﷺ) said, “The worst of things are those that are newly invented; every newly-invented thing is an innovation and every innovation is going astray, and every going astray is in the Fire.”
[Sunan an-Nāsa'i 1578, Grade: Sahīh]
Narrated by ‘Āisha:
Allāh’s Messenger (ﷺ) said, “If somebody innovates something which is not in harmony with the principles of our religion, that thing is rejected.”
[Sahīh al-Bukhārī 2697]
‘Abdullāh ibn ‘Abbās (may Allāh be pleased with him and his father) said:
“Indeed the most hated of affairs with Allāh is innovation.”
[al-Lālikāi (1/132) Abu Nu’aim in Hilyah (7/26) and Baghawi in Sharh Sunnah (1/216)]
‘Abdullāh ibn ‘Umar (may Allaah be pleased with them both) said,
“All bid’ah (innovation) is misguidance even if the people see it as good.”
[al-Lālikāi (126) Ibn Battah (205) Bayhaqi in Madkhal ila Sunnan (191) ibn Nasr (70) with an authentic chain]

REVIVE A NEGLECTED SUNNAH OF STAYING AFTER FAJR TILL SUNRISE.
How forsaken is this Sunnah? Merely look around the Masajids just ten or fifteen minutes after Fajr prayer, they're virtually deserted.
The following Sunnah is arguably one of the most neglected acts of worship amidst even students of knowledge and leaders amongst the Muslims, let alone ordinary folk. However, it wasn't the case with those before us, it was like the oxygen which they breathed, without it their day was gone.
This is the Sunnah of remembering Allah after the early morning prayer till sunrise.
Jaabir Ibnu Samura (radiAllahuanhu) said,
“Whenever the Prophet of Allah (sallalahu alaihiwa sallam) would finish the early morning prayer, he would not get up from his place of prayer till the sun had risen.” (Muslim).
■■ IBN MAS'OOD
‘Abdullah Ibn Mas’ood (radiAllahuanhu) said: مَا نِمْتُ نَوْمَةَ الضُّحَى مُنْذُ أَسْلَمْتُ
“I have not slept during this time since the day I embraced Islam” (Tabaqaat of Ibnu Sa’d)
■■ IMAM AL-AWZAAI
Imam Al-Awzaa’i (rahimahullah) said:
كان السلف إذا صدع الفجر أو قبله شيئًا كأنما على رؤوسهم الطير، مقبلين على أنفسهم، حتى لو أن حميمًا لأحدهم غاب عنه حينًا، ثم قدّم ما التفت إليه، فلا يزالون كذلك حتى يكونون قريبًا من طلوع الشمس
“When it was around the time of Fajr, our predecessors would be so still that it was as if birds were sitting on their heads. They were so focused on themselves in Allah’s remembrance as if a loved person of theirs who’d been away had arrived and would not turn towards them. They'd remain in such a state till around the rising of the sun” (Taareekh Dimashq)
If you wish to realise just how forsaken this Sunnah is, merely look around the Masajids ten or minutes after the end of the Fajr prayer. In most cases, the Masjid is virtually deserted, assuming that you aren’t told to leave before that.
There is a reason why this Sunnah is hardly applied. It’s not easy. It requires tremendous determination and dedication as it coincides with time, rest and sleep. The effects of it, however, upon one’s soul are beyond words. In fact, those who’ve been upon it for some time simply cannot function without it.
■■ IMAM IBN TAYMIYYAH.
Imam Ibn Taymiyyah (rahimahullah) once said to his student, Ibnul Qayyim (rahimahullah), after doing this till around midday(!):
هذه غدوتى لو لم أتغدى غدوتى سقطت قوتى
“This is my morning meal. If I don’t have it, my strength leaves me.” (ArRad AlWaafi)
Those words are not an exaggeration, but a true reflection of something that he’d felt and experienced. This Sunnah had played an enormous role in the moulding of Ibn Taymiyyah’s character and was one of the secrets behind his spiritual and intellectual power that would later amaze the world.
Never did they allow the excuse of Da’wah, study, work or family to stand between them and these moments of remembrance. Rather, they saw the latter as an indispensable tool for the former!.
In a narration which many have classified as authentic, the Prophet (sallalahu alaihiwa sallam) said:
مَنْ صَلَّى الْغَدَاةَ فِي جَمَاعَةٍ ثُمَّ قَعَدَ يَذْكُرُ اللَّهَ حَتَّى تَطْلُعَ الشَّمْسُ ثُمَّ صَلَّى رَكْعَتَيْنِ كَانَتْ لَهُ كَأَجْرِ حَجَّةٍ وَعُمْرَةٍ تَامَّةٍ تَامَّةٍ تَامَّةٍ
“Whoever
(1) Prays the early morning prayer in congregation then
(2) Stays sitting down, remembering Allah till the sun rises, then
(3) Prays two units of prayer, he will be given the reward of Hajj and ‘Umrah that are complete, complete, complete.”(At-Tirmidhi)
Strive hard to implement this Sunnah gradually.
(1) Dedicating at least one morning a week for this Sunnah if you are unable do more.
(2) Contact a friend of yours who’ll share your ambition & join you.
(3) Dedicate those moments to five things:
Qur’an, Dhikr, Du’ah, Isthighfar and reflection & contemplation.
(4) Fifteen or so minutes after sunrise, carry out two or more units of prayer within your place of prayer

(5) Then, monitor your heart’s transformation throughout that day. Never, ever be amazed by your acts of good deeds as it is Allah who enabled you and He is in no need of your deeds.
Four circumstances apply during a calamity:
The first condition: he scorns. things he hates, whether with his heart, tongue, or limbs. The disdain with the heart means he harbors anger and bad thoughts against his Lord. He blames Allah for this catastrophe. Concerning the scorn on the tongue, it is like crying, "Woe upon me, I am ruined!" or curse Time.'
The disdain with limbs includes slapping his face, beating his head, pulling his hair, tearing his clothes, etc.
The second condition is that he is patient. Being patient over the trial by controlling himself; he dislikes trials, he dislikes misfortunes, and he does not like that it occurs. However, he restrains himself, never saying or doing anything that displeases Allah.
The third is that he is pleased. The person accepts this tragedy. He accepts it as though he was unaffected.
The Fourth- He's thankful. He praises Allah for it. It is reported that the Prophet (PBUH) would exclaim, "Alhamdulillah 'alaa kulli haall (Praise be to Allah in all conditions)" whenever he encountered something he found distasteful. He would praise Allah so that Allah would reward him more than the affliction.
It was said that a devout female worshipper hurt her finger, for which she thanked Allah and praised Him. She was asked, “Why are you thanking and praising Allah when the finger was hurt?”
She said, “The sweetness of its reward made me forget the bitterness of its patience.”

Abū Bakr as-Ṣiddīq رضي الله عنه said:
“Beware of boasting, for what boast can he have who’s created from dust, and then will later return to dust, then later maggots will eat him, and today he’s alive and tomorrow dead?!”

as quoted in the book Sharh us Sunnah of Imaam Barbahari translated by our elder brother, the Dai'ee, Abu Talha Dawood Burbank hafidhahullah.
Imaam Al-Barbaharee raḥimahullāh: The innovators are like scorpions. They bury their heads and bodies in the sand, and leave their tails out. When they get a chance they sting; the same with the innovators who conceal themselves amongst the people, when they are able, they do what they desire. (Sharh Us Sunnah p 148.94)

Al-Imām ibn al-Qayyim [may Allāh have mercy on him] said:
“The servants need in seeking refuge [in Allāh] with the [last] three _surahs_ [in the Qur’ān] *is greater* than his need for food, drink, and clothing.”

It is most important for the believer to learn that the more he increases in virtue, the higher his rank in Paradise will be, and vice versa.
He may enter Paradise in a lower rank while others are higher, but he will remain satisfied and will not feel any shortcoming.

If YOU CAN'T BE USEFUL TO YOUR BROTHERS, DON'T BE A SOURCE OF DISTRESS TO THEM.
The Prophet said:
“Prevent yourself from causing people harm, it is a form of charity from yourself to your soul”.
(Saheehul Jaami', 4490).
Yahya Ibn Mu'aadh said:
Your relationship with a believer should be such that;
1. If you can't benefit him, don't cause him harm.
2. If you can't make him happy, then don't cause him sad.
3. If you don't praise him (for his good), don't condemn him unnecessarily (for his evil).
(Jaamiul Uluum wal Hikam, 281/2).
Comment:
A believer should not be a cause of harm, distress and unhappiness to anyone.
If you can't make them happy, then excuse yourself in their presence and restrain yourself from talking ill of them in their absence.
May ALLAAH aid us to do better.
