Praise be to Allah.

It is not permissible to join in the kaafir festivals for the following reasons:

👉Firstly: because this entails imitating or resembling them, and “Whoever imitates a people is one of them.” (Narrated by Abu Dawood). This is a serious warning. ‘Abd-Allaah ibn al-‘Aas said: Whoever lives in the land of the mushrikeen and celebrates their Nawrooz (New Year) and their Mahrajaan (festivals), and imitates them until he dies, he will be a loser on the Day of Resurrection.

👉Secondly: taking part in their festivals is a kind of befriending them and showing love for them. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):

“O you who believe! Take not the Jews and the Christians as Awliyaa’ (friends, protectors, helpers), they are but Awliyaa’ of each other. And if any amongst you takes them (as Awliyaa’), then surely, he is one of them… “[al-Maa’idah 5:51]

“O you who believe! Take not My enemies and your enemies (i.e. disbelievers and polytheists) as friends, showing affection towards them” [al-Mumtahanah 60:1]

👉Thirdly: festivals are the matter of religion and beliefs, not the matter of worldly customs, as is indicated by the hadeeth: “Every nation has its Eid, and this is our Eid.” Their Eid or festival reflects their corrupt beliefs of Kufr and Shirk.

👉Fourthly: “And those who do not witness falsehood, and if they pass by some evil play or evil talk, they pass it by with dignity” [al-Furqaan 25:72 – interpretation of the meaning]. The scholars interpreted this aayah was referring to the festivals of the mushrikeen. It is not permissible to give any of them cards for their festivals, or to sell them cards or any of the other things they need for their festivals such as lights, trees or food – including turkey, candy canes, etc.

10 FACTS THAT YOU NEED TO REALIZE 👌

1. As you get older, you choose the people that you accept in your life. You do not want to waste your energy trying to connect with someone, and it will not prosper into a relationship that is worth keeping.

2. You can't stop people from saying things about you. It is not your responsibility to change their minds. You only have to keep on doing what you do best. For as long as you are not hurting anyone, then there is no need to explain yourself.

3. You don't need so many friends in your life. You only need a few but are genuine with you. You cut off people in your life who do not respect you.

4. You are a work in progress, so there is no need for you to be hard on yourself. You have to continue learning and embrace that you will never please everyone.

5. Kindness goes a long way. If you have nothing good to say, it is better to keep your opinions to yourself. Allow people to grow and learn from their past mistakes.

6. Those people who know you better will stay with you no matter what. These are people that you have to keep because they have the purest intentions for you.

7. Maturity is to prioritize your needs over anything. For as long it can serve its purpose, you don't feel the need to buy a new one.
8. Embrace the fact that we outgrew people. Some of them do not stay because they have other priorities. You don't stop them, you let them go.

9. You choose your battles because not everything is worth your time and energy. You would want to protect your peace of mind than engage in drama.

10. You choose your happiness more than anything. You don't let people define your success. You make the most of every day because life is fleeting. You chase your dreams, not people anymore.”

Thinking of something during As-Salat (the prayer) and Hastening to do Good Deeds

Uqbah bin Al-Harith (May Allah be pleased with him) said: Once I performed the 'Asr prayer in Al-Madinah behind the Prophet (PBUH). He (PBUH) got up quickly after finishing the prayer with Taslim, and stepping over the people, went to one of the rooms of his wives. The people were startled at his haste, and when he came out and saw their astonishment at his urgency he said,

"I recalled that there was left with me some gold which was meant for charity; I did not like to keep it any longer, so I gave orders that it should be distributed". [Al-Bukhari].

In another narration, the Messenger of Allah said, "I had left some gold for Sadaqah in the house, and did not wish to keep it overnight".

Commentary:
1. A person should not keep such a thing because of which his attention is diverted from Allah (SWT) towards that thing.
2. Although it is undesirable to jump over the neck of people in ordinary circumstances but it is permissible when special conditions warrant it.

[Sharh Riyad-us-Saliheen]
Giving charity from stolen wealth

The Prophet said, “Allah does not accept any prayer without purification (ablution), nor any charity from embezzled wealth.”(Muslim 224)

Once the people were gathered at the time of death of Abdullah ibn Aamir the governor of Basra. They were praising him for his good deeds and generosity, but Ibn Umar was silent. Then, they asked him to speak and he narrated for him the hadith of the Prophet: “Allah does not accept charity from embezzled wealth.” Then, Ibn Umar said, “And you were in charge of Basra.”

Have you ever found yourself facing challenges that seem insurmountable? Life is full of trials, both big and small, that can leave us feeling overwhelmed and uncertain. In moments of difficulty, it's crucial to remember that Allah's wisdom surpasses our understanding. Trusting in Him during every situation, whether minor or major, can provide solace and strength beyond measure.

Consider a student struggling with exams, a parent coping with financial stress, or someone battling a serious illness. These situations might seem vastly different, but the common thread lies in the power of faith. Trusting Allah doesn't mean problems will vanish overnight, but it means embracing the journey with patience and hope. Your heartbreak, desires, and even health concerns can be soothed by turning to Him. Let's envision someone who longs for a specific outcome, yet their prayers remain unanswered. This is an opportunity to trust Allah's divine plan, which might hold blessings beyond our comprehension. Through faith, difficulties become opportunities for growth, and pain can lead to resilience. The key is to channel your emotions into heartfelt supplications and to cultivate unshakable trust in His wisdom.

Tell Allah everything that troubles you, no matter how small or big, put your trust in Him and find tranquility. In His presence, all your problems seem insignificant; He's observing your efforts and prayers. He doesn't seek results, only your effort and prayers. Allah is a friend, a companion, a source of peace, a secret keeper, a remedy, a teacher—He is everything. Whatever perception you hold of Him, Allah responds accordingly, so always maintain a positive perception through His grace.

Ya Allah, grant me strength in trials, patience in adversity, and gratitude in abundance. Illuminate my heart with Your guidance, forgive my shortcomings, and bless me with contentment. Bestow Your mercy upon me and grant me success in this world and the Hereafter. آمــــــــــين يارب 🤲🏿🥀

You Own Nothing, You Lose Nothing...

If you buy land or buy a house, you have only paid rent for the remaining years you have on Earth. None of them belongs to you.

If you buy a car, you have only paid for your transport for the period the car will last or for the period you will last. It doesn't belong to you.

If you marry a spouse, you have only got company until circumstances or death do you part. No one owns the other.

If you have children, you have only fulfilled the demand of continuity of life until death comes. You don't own them. That's why the State still dictates how you bring them up.

If you have money, you have only amassed value to purchase what you want, for your remaining number of years on Earth. The notes belong to the Central Bank.

If you work and retire, your pension is only for life. After your life, it stops.

Even if you eat and get filled, the food in your belly isn't yours. You must defecate it back to Earth.

The body itself which you cherish so highly, doesn't belong to you. The Earth will certainly reclaim its bits, when the loan is due.

Even the life we live is borrowed, and surely will be returned.

So let us not be afraid of losing anything in this life, because we do not own anything here. Two things will surely happen; we will either be taken away from everything we think we own or everything we think we own will be taken away from us someday. It is that day that none of us know.

We boast about our body, our houses, our lands, our money, our wives, our husbands, our children, our parents, our everything. But that's where it ends. Boasting! Ruminate intensely and it won't be difficult to find out that, we do not own any of those things. We are only availed of them to mitigate the necessary constraints of our sojourn here.

So never lose your head or your cool or your temper or your values or your vibrancy, whenever you that you have lost something because nothing was ever really yours. Not even yourself....

More Generous Than Hatim At-Ta’iy

Someone asked Hatim At-Ta’iy:

‘Did you ever come across someone more generous than yourself?’

‘Yes,’ he said, ‘Once I stayed with an orphan boy of the tribe of Ta’iy. He had ten goats. He slaughtered one of them and placed its brain before me (to eat). I relished it very much and exclaimed,

“How delicious it is, by God”.’

‘When the orphan boy heard my words, he stood up and slaughtered all the remaining goats, one by one, cooked their brains, and put them before me. I did not know that he had been doing this. When I rose to leave and came out of the house, I saw the whole courtyard splattered with pools of blood. I was shocked to see that the boy had slaughtered his goats while they were still tethered with their ropes. So I asked him:

“Why did you do that?”’

He replied:

‘Glory be to the Lord! Shall I stint on a thing I own while you like it? That’s a shame for Arabs.’

‘What did you give him in return, then?’

someone asked Hatim At-Ta’iy.

Hatim replied:

‘I gave him three hundred red camels and five hundred goats!’

‘You are more generous than him, then,’ said the people.

‘No,’ replied Hatim, ‘I am not. In fact, the orphan boy was more generous and more lavish than
me because he gave away all that he possessed while I gave away only a little of much’.

Killing. Killing.....
Imām Ibn Rajab (d. 795 AH) said:

The believer afflicted with a catastrophe may sometimes see its resolution as being slow, to where he loses hope even after frequent invocation accompanied by feelings of humility. Despite this, signs that his invocations are answered remain absent. This may then cause him to blame himself saying: This has all come because of you. If there was only some good in you, it would have been answered.

This blame is more beloved to Allāh than many forms of obedient acts. This is because it stipulates the servant of Allāh breaking down before his Master in admittance that he is truly deserving of the calamity that has befallen him; that he is undeserving of an answered invocation. It is at this point that his invocation is answered hastily, his affliction subverted. For the Most High is with the ones whose hearts are broken for His sake.

Wahb said: A man once worshipped Allāh for a long period until he experienced a need from Allāh. He then fasted seventy Saturdays, eating only eleven dates in each. Then, he asked Allāh to satisfy his need but was not granted it. He said to himself introspectively: This has happened because of you. If there was only some good in you, your need would have been granted. It was then that an angel descended upon him saying: O Child of Ādam! This one moment was better than all your preceding worship. Allāh has now chosen to satisfy your need.

Some of the early pious predecessors used to say:

It may be that the catastrophe before you shall cease. For the relief you have sought for an eternity has come. Relief from Allāh approaches, for Him there exists daily a matter [i.e. ceasing of a catastrophe] among His creation. If difficulty arises, then hope for ease. For He has ordained that ease always follows difficulty.

In light of all that is going on in the world, it is very important to remember that God has certain Ways (السنن الربانية) of doing things:

God does not make it rain without clouds!

God does not throw baked breads in our mouth, from the sky!

God does not grant you children, unless you go through the natural processes!

God does not make the seed grow, unless its placed in the earth and watered!

etc.

You and I can pray 1,000 units of prayer every day, we can ask God 1,000 times a day, but God will not do it.

We live in a world of causality, this is how God created this system, and we have to play by these rules.

God is not incapable, these are just the Sunan of God:

ولن تجد لسنة الله تبديلا
'𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝗻𝗼 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗚𝗼𝗱'𝘀 𝗦𝘂𝗻𝗻𝗮𝗵 (𝘄𝗮𝘆/𝘀𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺).' [Qur'an 33:62].

If a ship sinks, and there is a kafir moshrik on board, who can swim, and a muttaqee believer who cannot swim - the believer will most likely drown, and the kafir will survive.

If you don't want to drown, learn how to swim!

To remove your thirst, you have to drink!

To remove your hunger, you have to eat!

In principle, God does not bend these laws of nature for anyone, except in very exceptional circumstances, as it happened with the miracles of some Prophets.

But even in the past nations, even the Prophets of God and their companions had to struggle and God said to them:

يعذبهم الله بأيديكم
'𝗚𝗼𝗱 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗽𝗻𝗶𝘀𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺 𝗮𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘀.' [Qur'an 9:14].

Many Prophets of God and pious believers were killed by the ancient civilizations. God was not incapable of defending them, but God said:

وتلك الأيام نداولها بين الناس وليعلم الله الذين آمنوا ويتخذ منكم شهداء
'𝗪𝗲 𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝘀𝘂𝗰𝗵 𝗱𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝗮𝗺𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲, 𝘀𝗼 𝗚𝗼𝗱 𝘀𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝘄𝗵𝗼 𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗹𝘆 𝗯𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗲𝘃𝗲, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗛𝗶𝗺 𝘁𝗼 𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝗺𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘆𝗿𝘀 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗮𝗺𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝘆𝗼𝘂.' [Qur'an 3:140].

The point I'm trying to make is: when calamities strike, when there is an earthquake or humanitarian situation, don't just pray, but also act.

Also provide charity, create awareness, take part in humanitarian projects, do what you can.

Did you provide food to remove someone's hunger?

Did you send medicines?

Did you buy a tent, did you send blankets and warm clothes, to cover them against the harsh winter that is upon us?

Or have you just prayed and talked tough on social media?

A tweet or social media post, will not feed or clothe anyone. Raising awareness on social media is very important, but it is not enough.

And these calamities also serve another good purpose, as God says:

ليميز الله الخبيث من الطيب
'𝗦𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗚𝗼𝗱 𝘀𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗮𝗱 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗴𝗼𝗼𝗱.' [8:37].

The snakes, the hypocrites, the traitors who remained silent/neutral in face of oppression - all get exposed.

People's loyalties become apparent, the lines between truth and falsehood, once blurred, become clearer.

May God make us among those who pass these tests and stand on the right side of history, ameen

"Hasbunallahu Wa Ni’mal Wakeel!"

Who doesn’t need help, care, protection and victory
Who doesn’t feel weak, over-powered by difficulties, stress and worries

Ibn ‘Abbas (May Allah be pleased with them) said: When (Prophet) Ibraheem was thrown into the fire, he said: “Allah (Alone) is sufficient for us, and, He is the Best Disposer of affairs.” So did Messenger of Allah, Muhammad (sal-lal-laahu-alaihi-wa-sallam), when he was told: “A great army of the pagans had gathered against him, so fear them”. But this (warning) only increased him and the Muslims in Faith and they said: “Allah (Alone) is sufficient for us, and He is the Best Disposer of affairs (for us)”. [Al-Bukhari].

When Ibraheem alaihis salam was thrown in the fire by those who thought that they had power over all things, he made a supplication the effect of which made the people sit up and watch in amazement❗️

Fire getting cool .... The fire that BURNS was made COOL Subhan'Allah

This is the effect of saying: Hasbunallahu Wa Ni’mal Wakeel!

In a seemingly overpowering situation, Prophet Muhammad, sal-lal-laahu-alaihi-wa-sallam, and his great companions declared that Allah is Sufficient for Help and Solace and that He is the Best Disposar of affairs for us!

When people said to them: ‘Behold, a host has gathered around you and you should fear them’, it only increased their faith and they answered: ‘Allah is Sufficient for us; and what an excellent Guardian He is!’ (Surah aal Imran: 173)

In the event of fear and anxiety we should seek the help of Allah and frequently recite this ayah:

Hasbunallahu wa Ni’mal Wakeel” “Allah (Alone) is Sufficient for us, and He is the Best Disposer of affairs (for us).” (3:173)

Lets make a point to recite this morning and evening, Day and night, On and off, Once, Twice, Many times over....as much as possible Insha'Allah

Please do share with others so they too can benefit
