The Messenger صلى الله عليه وسلم said:
عَنْ أَبِي الدَّرْدَاءِ أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ أَوَّلُ مَا يُرْفَعُ مِنْ هَذِهِ الأُمَّةِ الْخُشُوعُ حَتَّى لا يُرَى فِيهِ خَاشِعًا
“The very first thing to be raised from this Ummah is Khushoo (awe, fear of Allaah) until there is not a single person in it with khushoo.”
[Saheeh al-Jaami` (2569) graded as by Shaikh al-Albaanee]
“Khushoo’ in prayer happens when a person empties his heart for it (prayer),& focuses on it to the exlusion of all else, and prefers it to everything else. Only then does he find comfort & joy in it, as the Prophet (sw) said: ‘…& my joy has been made in salaah.’” ( Ahmad, 3/128 Saheeh al-Jaami’, 3124).
Allaah has mentioned al-khaashi’eena wa’l-khaashi’aat(men&women who r humble (b4 their Lord)),& described this quality as 1 of the qualities of those who are chosen. He tells us that He has prepared for them forgiveness&reat reward(i.e., Paradise)[See al-Ahzaab 33:35].

A man said to Abu Hāzim (may Allah have mercy upon him):
Indeed you are strict.
Abu Hāzim (may Allāh have mercy upon him) replied:
Why shouldn’t I be strict when I’m certainly being observed/watched by 14 enemies.
As for four of them: A Shaytān (devil) who puts me to trial, a believer who envies me, a disbeliever (who wants to) kill me and a hypocrite who hates me.
As for the (remaining) ten, from them are: The matter of hunger, thirst, heat, cold, nakedness, old age, sickness, poverty, death and the hell-fire.
I don’t have the ability (to combat them all) except with a complete weapon.
And I do not find a weapon to combat them with better than (the weapon of) at-Taqwā (having fear of Allah).

Your relationship with Allaah really depends on how good your relationship is with your relatives:

❝The word "Al-Rahm" (the womb) derives its name from al-Rahmaan (i.e. Allaah) and is suspended from al-`Arsh (the Throne) and it says: 'He who keeps good relations with me, Allaah will keep connection with him, but whosoever severs relations with me, Allaah will sever connection with him'.❞

It is reported from ‘Ubayd b. ‘Umayr – Allâh have mercy on him – that he said:

“Insincere effort is like the traveller who fills his bag with sand, it just overburdens him for no good reason. If you have overburdened your heart with the grief and sorrows of this worldly life, neglecting prayers, which are the heart's provision and power, you would be like the traveller who overloaded his riding animal, while depriving it of its food, so it would not be able to continue on its journey.”

There Is Nothing More Beneficial To The Heart
Al-Imaam Ibn Qayyim Al-Jawziyyah, may Allaah have mercy upon him:
“There is nothing more beneficial to the heart than reciting the Quraan, with contemplation and reflection. The Quraan bequeathes love, aspiration, fear, hope, repentance, reliance, pleasure, contentment, authority, gratitude, patience, and all the other [necessary] conditions that are life [i.e.vital] to the heart and perfection of it. Likewise, it repels all reprehensible characteristics and actions which cause corruption and destroy the heart.”
[Miftaah Daaris-Sa’aadah, 1/187]

AVOID HATEFUL PEOPLE
If you see a hateful person who bears grudges, one who does not forget slight faults and always attempts to get revenge (directly or indirectly, by word or deed) for mistakes, then consider them like camels.
The Arabs say, ‘So and so is more hateful than a camel!’
Just as you would stay away from a hateful camel who bears grudges then do not befriend a hateful individual who bears grudges.
[Abū Bakr at-Tartushi (rahimahillāh), Sirāj al-Mulūk, pg. 112]

WHO LOVES TO MEET ALLAH ?

“Whoever loves to meet Allah, Allah will love to meet him, and whoever hates to meet Allah, Allah will hate to meet him.”
‘Aa’ishah (radi Allahu anha) : “But we all dislike the idea of death.”
He said, “It is not what you are thinking. When death approaches the believer and he is given the news of Allah’s pleasure and honour, nothing will be more dear to him than what lies ahead of him, so he will love to meet Allah and Allah will love to meet him.
But when death approaches the disbeliever and he is given the news of Allah’s wrath and punishment, nothing will be more disliked by him than that what lies ahead of him, so he will hate to meet Allah and Allah will hate to meet him.”
[Sahih Al-Bukhari]

The Dunya is Cursed…
The Messenger of Allāh صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ said:
“The dunya is cursed. Cursed is all that is in it except for the remembrance of Allah, and that which resembles it, a scholar, and a student (of knowledge).”
[Related by Tirmidhee, Ibn Maajah, and Bayhaqi. The wording is taken from Shaykh al-Albaanee’s Sahīh at-Targhīb wat-Tarhīb (1/34)]
Ali ibn Abi Taalib (رضي الله عنه) said:
“Verily, the Dunya is coming to an end and the Akhirah is coming to a beginning and they both have children. So be children of the Akhirah and don’t be children of the Dunya. For verily today there is action with no account and tomorrow there is account with no action”
[Related by Ibn al-Qayyim]
Al-Hasan al-Basri (رحمه الله) said:

Shaykh Sāliḥ bin Fawzān al-Fawzān حفظه الله said: "It is not sufficient for a person to only know the truth; rather, it is must that a person knows the truth and knows falsehood. A person should know the truth so he can act upon it. And the person should know falsehood so he can stay away from it. If a person does not know falsehood, he will fall into it and he will not know it."

From Abu Saeed al Khudri -Radhi Allaah anhu- that the Messenger of Allaah ﷺ said:
” صُداعُ المؤمنِ ، أو شوكةٌ يُشاكُها ، أو شيءٌ يُؤذيه ؛ يرفعُه اللهُ بها يومً القيامةٍ درجةً ، ويُكفِّرُ عنه بها ذنوبَه “.
‘The headache of the Believer, or a thorn that pricks him, or anything that harms him, then Allaah raises him a grade on the day of Judgement due to that and He expiates from him his sins due to that.’
[Collected by Ibn Abi Duniya and its narrators are trustworthy. Al-Albaani graded it Hasan in Saheeh Targheeb wa Tarheeb no. 3434]
