Brothers and Sisters,

We won’t be judged by the actions we commit on social media, but what we do in our private lives. These acts involve how we treat other people (despite whether or not we like or dislike them), how we choose to lead our lives, and our core values. This is just a reminder to stay true to yourselves either on or off a screen.🌸

‎Ibn Al-Qayyim’s رحمه الله Illustrations of Leaving Something Sincerely for the Sake of Allāh – & How it is Done Correctly:

‎“Whoever leaves off something for the sake of Allāh; then Allāh will replace that with something better.

‎Just as Yusuf – as-Siddeeq (‘alaihis salaam) left the wife of ‘Azeez for the sake of Allāh and chose the prison over fornication. Thus Allāh exchanged it by: empowering him upon the earth – to engage and take charge therein – as and how he liked.

‎Subsequently the woman herself returned to him; belittled – in a state of appeal – desirous of permissible association and so he married her, and so when he entered upon her he said:

‎“this is better than that which you sought.”

‎Observe how Allāh, The Glorified, rewarded him over the confined restriction of the prison with: empowering and granting him full authority in the land to take up quarters – wherever he liked. He humbled the ‘Azeez (ruler) and his wife before him. Moreover this woman herself as well as the other women acknowledged his being free of fault – and this is His Sunnah (practice) The Most High, towards His servants past and present – until The Day of Judgment.

‎Likewise when Sulaimaan bin Dawood (‘alaihimaa as-salaam) became distracted with the horses which preoccupied him from the ‘Asr prayer until the sun had set – and so he became angered for the sake of Allāh. Allāh replaced them for him with the wind; upon which he along with his military force would subsequently travel – airborne – wherever he so desired.

‎Likewise when the Muhaajiroon (the companions who migrated) left their homes and dwellings for the sake of Allaah, they left their homelands which were of the most beloved things to them. Allāh compensated them by opening upon them the whole world in conquests and sanctioned for them the empowerment of the east of the earth as well as its west.”

‎When speaking of how a person leaves something correctly for the sake of Allāh and of a person’s truthfulness in that; Ibn al-Qayyim said:

‎“Indeed; one may find difficulty in abandoning the things that are customary as well as the habits – that being for whoever abandons them for other than Allāh. As for the one who abandons it truthfully and sincerely from his heart; then he finds no difficulty in abandoning it – except in the initial instant – in order for him to be tested as to: whether he is truthful in its abandonment or untruthful? So if he is patient upon that difficulty for a short period, then it transforms into pleasant delight.

‎Ibn Sireen said: ‘I heard Shuraih swear by Allāh; that a servant never abandoned anything for the sake of Allāh; and subsequently found bereavement over it.’

‎As for their saying: ‘whoever leaves off something for Allāh; then Allāh will replace it with better than it’ – this is true, and the replacement can be of various types. The most outstanding of that which one can be granted replacement is that of: acquaintance with Allāh and of having love for Him and the tranquility of the heart with regards to Him along with its strength and its enthusiasm and its delight and pleasure of its Lord, The Most High.

‎The most foolish of people is the one who strayed at the very end of his journey – and yet had neared the abode (destination).”

If your heart is distressed

When someone comes to you with the heart overloaded with pain, please, don't make up some lame excuse to get rid of them. Perhaps they have been walking from ear to ear but nobody has heard their cry. Perhaps they have been walking from eye to eye but nobody has seen their tears. A journey through the emotionless desert is tiring, they are hungry for empathy and thirsty for understanding. Now they come to you, and you aren't deaf and blind to someone else's pain. You can be their oasis. Feed them and quench their thirst so they're strong enough to carry their heavy heart and continue the journey. @undercoverpoet__

Once an idea settles in people’s minds, you cannot get rid of it by force or by suppressing it.

The idea will live on and may even grow bigger.

The only way to kill a bad idea is to be open about it and present it against a better idea.

Life is unpredictable. Anyone can die. Any of your family members or you, anytime. Diseases, plagues, natural disasters can strike anytime. Before the coming of the Dajjal, Allah will withhold the rain for 3 consecutive years. There shall be severe drought and mayhem. There could be another virus wave more lethal than before.

Be prepared.

Expert planning necessitates including worst case scenarios. Be prepared for the worse. Worry for your family and near ones. Let them stay vigilant. Spend on yourself but save money as well. Keep giving charity to get the special help from Allah and seek his protection alone. Rely on him.

Hope for the best but prepare for the worst. Always keep asking for 'Aafiyah. May Allah forgive our sins and protect all of us especially all the weak people on earth.

Abū al-Dardā’ رضي الله عنه went to a funeral, then to the family of the deceased man who were crying, and he said:

“Poor them!
Tomorrow dead crying over today’s dead.”

[Mawsū’at Ibn Abi al-Dunyā | v.5 | pg. 51]
It is narrated that:

Imām Mālik ‎(رحمه الله) was asked about his age. So he said: “Mind your own business. For it is not from muruah (exemplary conduct) that one reveals his age. If a man reveals his age, if he is relatively old, they will consider him senile and if he is young, they'll consider him inexperienced.”

☘️All You Need to Know About Jumu'āh (Friday)☘️

💫 The Messenger of Allāh (sallAllahu ʿalayhi wa ’aalihi wa sallam) said:

Verily, Allāh has made this day (of Friday) a celebration for the Muslims. So whoever comes to Friday (prayer), then let him bathe himself, and if he has any perfume let him put some on, and use the toothstick.

📖 [Reported by Ibn Mājah 1098 and Ṣaḥīḥ at-Targheeb 1/298]

What is the ruling on sending text messages every Friday and ending with the phrase “Jumu’āh Mubārak”?

He replied:

The early generation (salaf) did not congratulate one another on Fridays (did not say Jumu’āh Mubarak to each other) so we should not introduce anything that they did not do.

The difficulties and ease in your life are not directly proportional to Allah's hate or love for you in your life.

Do not attribute difficulties or hardships in life with Allah's anger or displeasure with you. So many of us already have it bad with our life's difficulties and to pair that with the thought that "Allah mujhse naraaz hai/ Allah is not pleased with me" is a sure route to absolute disaster for eeman, self worth and productivity.

When we study Islam we realize nearly every pious person was tested with the worst of hardships and we learn from Qur'an and our blessed tradition that Allah in His infinite mercy and wisdom was actually pleased with them all and had a higher calling for them in life.

If you are going through difficulties never for a second think or let others make you think Allah hates you.

Rather redirect that negative assumption and focus on the fact that through this hardship Allah is bringing you closer and closer to your higher calling and status in this temporary life AND MORE IMPORTANTLY IN THE HEREAFTER that Allah truly wants for you.

Ayyub عليه السلام was so sick he was feeding insects on his wounds.

Maryam عليه السلام delivered a baby on her own (just imagining this sends shivers down my spine).

Yusuf عليه السلام was thrown in a well.

Yunus عليه السلام got swallowed by a whale.

Ibrahim عليه السلام was thrown into fire by his own father and tribe.

Mohammed صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ lost his parents as a child and buried 6 of his children.

Musa عليه السلام had to stand up to pharaoh.
And the list is endless - may Allah be pleased with them all and have mercy and blessing on them all.

They were all tested severely and we know that Allah was pleased with THEM ALL! <3 :)

As Muslims we are supposed to have good expectations from and of Allah and His Qadr for us. The best hopes are the ones put in Allah subhanahu wata'ala - everybody else is going to let you down.

📚 ❝And [you will obtain] another [favor] that you love - victory from Allah and an imminent conquest; and give good tidings to the believers.❞
{Surah As Saf 61: Verse 13}

Next time when you are tested remember it doesn't matter why you are being tested but what does matter is thinking if this test is bringing you closer to Allah? Ask that question for every test you encounter because you may have failed from worldly standards, but if it brought you closer to Allah then there lies your true success.

🤲 Ya Rabb allow us to pass away with sound faith in our hearts and with kalima on our tongues. Keep us faithful to the Book and the Sunnah, and take us away in a state in which You are pleased with us. When hardships strike us make Qur’an our close companion in life.

Ya Kareem The Most Generous of those who show generosity make Quran a comforting friend in our graves and a light on the Sirat. Grant us Quran's intercession at the time of resurrection and make it a protection and barricade between us and the Hellfire. Allahumma ameen!

Many people don’t understand the concept of “success”
they think the more money you stockpile, the greater your success.

But people on their deathbeds never wish for more money or a greater status in the dunya [world].

Rather, they wish for more TIME in order to worship Allaah better and meet Him with certainty and faith pouring from their hearts.
Take advantage of every precious moment you have.

Let Allaah’s remembrance always be on your lips, and always ask Him to help you fully rely on Him and His guidance to lead you to a better hereafter In-sha'-Allaah.

Because a person quotes chapters from Islamic books with appropriate references and even page numbers doesn't make him a scholar. I have quoted many times from the book Al-Mugni and I have never set my eyes on the book before, and it is so expensive that to even consider buying it requires serious planning.

On a serious note we need to raise the bar of how we consider people as scholars and Islamic authorities. It is not everyone who writes or posts Islamic matters that is automatically a scholar.

There is no harm in saying: He is a good preacher, he has good oratorical prowess, his writing skills are exceptional etc, but know for a fact that these things do not qualify a person to be an Isamic authority. How many certificates of medicine have you given me just because I have used some medical teminologies I picked from books or even google. Stop awarding Scholarship through social media activity and followership.

In the mind of some of you, once an Islamic post has 11,000 likes, you assume it is likely to be correct. Common! If Kim whatever or any of those online big shots post lewd pictures of themselves online they will get more likes than an average Islamic post. In fact they may have more followers than all our scholars put together! Stop measuring who is a scholar by his online acceptance and speech. A scholar is someone who has specialised in one or many branches of Islamic knowledge and certified so by a reputable scholar/scholars.

Stop over-rating social media.

"None of you should urinate in the place where he bathes, for most Waswasa (devilish whispers) come from that."

Student loans, mortgages to buy houses, even credit cards? All are backed by a contract which is prohibited in Islām. Those and such similar scenarios are only allowed in situations of dire necessity. You can work part-time and go to school part-time, you can rent a house. As for credit cards, only use them if you absolutely have to, that is, in transactions which can only be done with credit cards. If you insist otherwise, then maybe you are in no need of Allāh's mercy...

Jābir said that Allāh's Messenger (ﷺ) cursed the accepter of interest and its payer, and one who records it, and the two witnesses, and he said: They are all equal.
