Al-Imām ibn al-Qayyim, [may Allāh bestow mercy upon him], said:

“Developing positive character and fostering harmonious interactions in various social contexts requires attention to two key aspects:

‘Practicing benevolence and demonstrating kindness through both speech and actions.

Refraining from any actions or words that may inflict harm [or negativity] upon others.’”

As a Muslim, you should learn to control your life. Not everything you have put on social media, or inform anyone you meet on the street.

Not everything in your life deserve quick lunching on social media.

The Great Merit of Understanding the Quran

Imam Ibn Al Qayyim said (May Allah ta’al have mercy on him) “Reading an ayah with thought and understanding is better than reading the completion (of the Quran ) without contemplation and understanding “

In surah Hud [11], Allah reports that the Prophet Hud addressed his people by saying:

[وَيَا قَوْمِ اسْتَغْفِرُوا رَبَّكُمْ ثُمَّ تُوبُوا إِلَيْهِ يُرْسِلِ السَّمَاءَ عَلَيْكُم مِّدْرَارًا وَيَزِدْكُمْ قُوَّةً إِلَىٰ قُوَّتِكُمْ وَلَا تَتَوَلَّوْا مُجْرِمِينَ]

"O my people, ask your Lord for forgiveness and then turn to Him in repentance. He will send down rain on you in abundance and add strength to your strength. And do not turn away as criminals." [52]

Commenting on this quality of seeking Allah's forgiveness, al-haafidh ibn Kathir wrote:

[ومن اتصف بهذه الصفة يسر الله عليه رزقه ، وسهل عليه أمره وحفظ [ عليه ] شأنه [ وقوته ] ; ولهذا قال : ( يرسل السماء عليكم مدرارا ) ، و [ كما جاء ] وفي الحديث : " من لزم الاستغفار جعل الله له من كل هم فرجا ، ومن كل ضيق مخرجا ، ورزقه من حيث لا يحتسب " . ـ ]

Whoever is characterized by this quality, Allah will facilitate provisions for him, make things easy for him, and preserve his status and strength. That is why He said, "He will send down rain on you in abundance."

Similarly, there is the hadith that, "Whoever consistently seeks Allah's forgiveness, Allah will give him relief from every trouble and a way out of every tight spot, and He will provide for him from places he does not expect."

[Tafsir ibn Kathir 4/329]

“Why doesn’t my prayer prevent me from committing evil?”

A questioner asked Shaykh Muhammad bin Saalih al-’Uthaymeen (May Allah have mercy on him),

"Why doesn’t my prayer prevent me from committing evil?"

The Shaykh (raḥimahullāh) replied;

My advice to you is to repent to Allah, azzawajal, and be sincere in turning back towards Him. You should be mindful of the greatness of the One you are disobeying and be mindful of His punishment for those who oppose His Command. You should remember the statement of Allah,

“Inform unto My slaves, that truly, I am the Oft-Forgiving, the Most-Merciful.”

“And that My Torment is indeed the most painful torment.” [al-Hijr: 49-50]

Therefore, seek Allah’s forgiveness and mercy and at the same time become fearful of His punishment. As for your prayer not preventing you from performing evil deeds, then perhaps it is due to it containing deficiencies within. That is because the prayer that prevents one from committing lewdness and evil deeds is the prayer that is complete. It is the prayer that is in accordance to what the Prophet (Peace and blessings be upon him) came with, prayer that is performed with an attentive present heart, and a prayer that is performed upon the Sunnah.

It is not any and every prayer that prevents one from lewdness and evil deeds, rather it is only the established prayer that is performed its required manner. Allah said,

“…Indeed, the prayer prevents al-Fahshaa (lewdness, great sins of every kind, illegal sexual relations) and al-Munkar (disbelief, polytheism, and every evil deed)…” [al-‘Ankabut: 45]

And this is referring to the prayer that is established in the correct manner.

💲 SADAQAH (VOLUNTARY CHARITY) BEGINS AT HOME WITH FAMILY TO MAINTAIN THE FAMILY TIES AND BONDS OF KINSHIP 🇱🇾

Allah Ta'ala says (what means)

They ask you (O Muhammad SAW) what they should spend. Say: Whatever you spend of good must be for parents and kindred and orphans and AlMasakin (the poor) and the wayfarers, and whatever you do of good deeds, truly, Allah knows it well. [Suratul Baqarah 2:215]

Abu Huraira reported: He said, “O Messenger of Allah, which charity is best?” The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “One with little property to give. Begin with your dependents.”

Zakaat (Charity/Purification) of Wealth is Fard/Wajib (Obligatory) is for the Muslims at 2.5% of yearly earnings. Sadaqah (Voluntary Charity) I give to family in need who have a greater right of me than strangers.

Salman ibn ‘Amir reported: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Verily, charity given to the poor has one reward, and charity given to family has two rewards: one for charity and one for upholding family ties.”

Hakim ibn Hizam reported: A man asked the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, “What act of charity is best?” The Prophet said, “One given to an estranged relative.”

The Fear The Ṣaḥābah Had Of Allāh

Aisha رضي الله عنها: “I wish I was a thing that was forgotten and out of sight!”

“'Umar b. al-Khaṭṭāb رضي الله عنه used to hear an Ayah so he would become ill (from fear).”

“He ('Umar b. al-Khaṭṭāb) had two black lines on his face from his tears (from crying out of his fear of Allaah).”

Imran ibn Husayn رضي الله عنه said: "I wish I was only sand that was thrown about in the wind!”

Abu Ubaydan ibn’ul Jarrah رضي الله عنه: “I wish I was only a sheep so my family would slaughter me and eat my meat!”

Abū Bakr as-Ṣiddīq رضي الله عنه: “I wish I was just a plant that was picked and eaten!”

Nothing repels the extremely worldly Hardships as does the Tawhīd!

🍃 The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said,

“The supplication of Jonah, Dhul Nun (Yunus عليه السلام) when he called upon Allāh inside the belly of the whale was this, ‘There is no God but You, glory be to You for I have certainly been among the wrongdoers,’ (21:87).

Verily, a Muslim never supplicates for anything with it but that Allāh will answer him.”

📖 Sunan al-Tirmidhī 3505

🍃‎Ibn al-Qayyim رحمه الله said:

‎“Nothing repels the extreme worldly hardships as does Tawheed, this is why the supplication for distress and anxiety is with Tawheed.

A distressed person does not make duʿā’ with the supplication of Prophet Yūnus, except that Allāh drives away his distress and anxiety with Tawheed.

There is nothing more gruesome for the distressed person than Shirk, and there is nothing that can rescue you from it except Tawheed. It is the place of refuge for the creation, its shelter, its fortress and its means of (seeking) aid.”

Ibn Rajab al-Hanbalī رحمه الله stated:

The month of Rajab is the key to the months of goodness and blessings.

Abu Bakr bin al-Warrāq al-Balkhī said, “Rajab is the month to sow the seeds; Sha’bān is the month to irrigate the crops; and Ramadān is the month to reap the harvest.”

It has also been reported from him, “Rajab is like the wind; Sha’bān is like the water-laden clouds; and Ramadān is like the rain.”

Others have said, “The year is like a tree: in Rajab its buds sprout; in Sha’bān it sends forth its branches; in Ramadān its fruit ripens; and the believers are the farmhands who harvest that fruit.”

The sin of one who misses the 'Asr prayer (intentionally) 🚫

🔹Narrated Ibn `Umar:

Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, "Whoever misses the Asr prayer (intentionally) then it is as if he lost his family and property."

Bukhari 552

🔹Narrated Abul Malih:

We were with Buraida in a battle on a cloudy day and he said, "Offer the Asr prayer early as the Prophet said, "Whoever leaves the Asr prayer, all his (good) deeds will be annulled."

Bukhari 553

🔸Commentary: The one who does not offer the 'Asr prayer intentionally until its stated time is over and if he offers the prayers after that time, then it is useless.

al-Hasan al-Basri (رحمه اللّٰه) used to say:
Beware of 3 matters:
and do not give shaytān control of yourself in them.

١. Do not be alone with a woman (Non-mahram) even if you intend to teach her the Qur'ān,

٢. Do not enter upon the Sultan (ruler) even if you intend to enjoin him to do good and forbid him from evil,

٣. Do not accompany a person of innovation for he will sicken your heart and spoil your faith.

Money and materialism can never bring happiness and inner peace.

Money and material things might make some things easier but it will never bring happiness, inner peace or cure depression.

I have grown up in Europe since i was less than a year old and have since seen the world from it's richer parts to my native country Iraq and all the way to places where people live in mud houses and use palm leaves as roofs over their houses (actually no more than a room) and from my own experience i have seen that the happiest and most content people can be the poorest in terms of money and material matters.

Think about it, the older generation when some of you used to visit your native countries.. Many have had parents growing up in large families with many siblings living in very humble quarters, they all used to live tightly close upon eachother, sleep in the livingroom on mattresses together and eat humble food, sometimes nothing more than some fresh baked bread, tomatoes, olives, white cheese and some tea.. But they were the happiest people you could remember with none of these modern "first world" diseases as depression, anxiety and stress.

What brings happiness and inner peace is first of all your deen and everything related to it because it brings contentment and in worldy matters it's family, a large family with good righteous children, their health and wellbeing especially in terms of their religion. Other than that who cares about anything else? I can still see the laughter and happiness of my aunts and uncles during the nights in the livingroom of my grandfathers house.

Would you ever trade the happiness and contentment of the older generations for all the riches of the world? I know i wouldn't.

Imam al-Barbahaaree (rahimahullah) said:

“Beware of small innovations, because they grow and become large. This was the case with every innovation introduced into this Ummah.

It started as something small, bearing a resemblance to the truth, which is why those who entered into it were misled, and then were unable to leave it. So it grew and it became the religion which they followed, so they deviated from the Straight Path and thus left Islaam.

May Allaah have mercy upon you! Examine carefully the speech of everyone you hear from, in your time particularly.

So do not act in haste, nor enter into anything from it, until you ask and see: Did any of the Companions of the Prophet sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam speak about it, or any of the (early) Scholars?

So if you find a narration from them about it, cling to it and do not go beyond it for anything, nor give precedence to anything over it and thus fall into the Fire.”
