Sufyān Ath-Thawrī رحمه الله stated:
ليس للشيطان سلاح للإنسان مثل خوف الفقر، فإذا وقع في قلب الإنسان منع الحق و تكلم بالهوى و ظن بربه ظن السوء.

Nothing repels the extremely worldly Hardships as does the Tawhīd!
🍃 The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said,
“The supplication of Jonah, Dhul Nun (Yunus عليه السلام) when he called upon Allāh inside the belly of the whale was this, ‘There is no God but You, glory be to You for I have certainly been among the wrongdoers,’ (21:87).

The sin of one who misses the 'Asr prayer (intentionally) 🚫
🔹Narrated Ibn `Umar:
Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, "Whoever misses the Asr prayer (intentionally) then it is as if he lost his family and property."
Bukhari 552
🔹Narrated Abul Malih:
We were with Buraida in a battle on a cloudy day and he said, "Offer the Asr prayer early as the Prophet said, "Whoever leaves the Asr prayer, all his (good) deeds will be annulled."

٣. Do not accompany a person of innovation for he will sicken your heart and spoil your faith.

Money and materialism can never bring happiness and inner peace.
Money and material things might make some things easier but it will never bring happiness, inner peace or cure depression.
I have grown up in Europe since i was less than a year old and have since seen the world from it's richer parts to my native country Iraq and all the way to places where people live in mud houses and use palm leaves as roofs over their houses (actually no more than a room) and from my own experience i have seen that the happiest and most content people can be the poorest in terms of money and material matters.
Think about it, the older generation when some of you used to visit your native countries.. Many have had parents growing up in large families with many siblings living in very humble quarters, they all used to live tightly close upon eachother, sleep in the livingroom on mattresses together and eat humble food, sometimes nothing more than some fresh baked bread, tomatoes, olives, white cheese and some tea.. But they were the happiest people you could remember with none of these modern "first world" diseases as depression, anxiety and stress.
What brings happiness and inner peace is first of all your deen and everything related to it because it brings contentment and in worldy matters it's family, a large family with good righteous children, their health and wellbeing especially in terms of their religion. Other than that who cares about anything else? I can still see the laughter and happiness of my aunts and uncles during the nights in the livingroom of my grandfathers house.
Would you ever trade the happiness and contentment of the older generations for all the riches of the world? I know i wouldn't.

A Reminder for Influencers
All of us who are trying to be callers to Islām have to be extremely careful that we do not seek fame. Modern technology and social media has made this trial even more difficult to deal with.
The myth is that once you gain followers, you will be in charge of them and influence them, however, once you gain more followers you will realize that the opposite may very well be true.
Instead of influencing them, you will become their prisoner, you will be held accountable for whatever you post, be it quotes, articles, videos, or whatever else. You will be expected to comment on anything and everything that happens, even if it is outside your area of expertise. In fact, it may reach a point where you have to become two-faced and adopt opinions and positions which you are not convinced of, only in order to satisfy your followers.
As you gain more followers you will potentially reach the point of an idol, you will feel that you are above criticism, it could very well change your entire personality you had before you became famous.
The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ has told us that one of the destructive sins is being impressed by one's own opinion, and that this will be one of those things which will become manifest during times of trail. These are the times we are living today.
The early Muslims ran away from fame as one would run away from a lion. Let us be extremely careful and not allow what seemed to be a good intention to become a reason for our destruction.

SHOULD'NT WE WAIT TILL THE SEA PARTS? HOW TO KEEP GOING DURING HARDSHIPS
When Musa, peace be upon him, stood on the bank of the sea and the sight of the pursuing Pharaoh's army was clear, the Bani Israel panicked and screamed out: O Musa! We are trapped from both the sides. The Prophet of Allah did not agree but declared confidently " Surely not, My Lord is with me" . Mosa, peace be upon him, did not claim that he had that miraculous stick with him nor was he informed by the divine revelation that the sea would be parted, but the only assurance he had was if you bear with patience Allah will give you a way to escape.
The people of Bani Israel lost their hope in Allah just a few minutes before the help of Allah arrived. The moment they blamed their leader for their woes and their leader shows his trust in Allah, the help of Allah came and the sea was parted.
When Ibrahim, peace be upon him was thrown in fire, he refused to accept the help of even angels but looked up to only Allah, though the blazing fire was only few seconds away from him.
Yaqub, peace be upon him, waited for his dearest son for years and continued to wait, in spite being demoralized by his other sons and he said I can smell Yusuf. This was little time before the help of Allah arrived.
Ayub, peace be upon him, kept on saying Inshallah I will get alright, and during the last stages of his suffering he prostrated before Allah and continued asking for His help. He did not give up till the help of Allah arrived. Ibn Kathir says, he did not give up hopes of being cure from a disease that started at the age of 70 and continued for 17 years!
Most of us give up hopes right at a time when the help of Allah is about to descend. In other words " Most of us are unable to observe sabr with patience" Sabr is not a short term notice of waiting but it is a continuous process till Allah helps you.. Consider the last verses of Surah Al e Imran, Y Ayyuhal lazina aamanosbiroo wassabiroo.. O who believed! Have sabr and keep continuing sabr.
The easiest way to observe sabr is to increase the Dhikr of Allah during hardships. Note the Quranic verses about the days of Hajj, where Allah instructs us to to remember Him in large amount and listen to the stories of people who survived hardships and abstain from passing any negative remark about Allah's help. It could be that the sea was about to part but we looked away.

Aai'sha (رضي الله عنه) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:
“Whoever seeks to acquire Allah's pleasure at the expense of people’s anger, Allah will be pleased with him and make the people pleased with him. (But) whoever seeks to acquire the pleasure of the people at the risk of angering Allah, Allah will be angry at him and cause the people to be angry with him.”

The People of Paradise: The Way to Paradise is Very Hard
Paradise is very high, and ascending lofty places takes a great deal of effort. The way to Paradise is filled with things that go against human wishes and inclinations. This needs strong determination and willpower. In a hadith from Abu Hurayrah (ra) the Messenger of Allah (saw) said,
"Hell has been veiled with desires, and Paradise has been veiled with [surrounded by] hardships."
The Messenger of Allah (saw) said, "When Allah created Paradise, He told Jibreel, "Go look at it". So he went and looked at it, then he came back and said, "By Your Glory, no-one will hear of it but he will enter it". So He surrounded it with hardships and said, "Go and look at it". So he went and looked at it, then came back and said, "By Your Glory, I fear that no-one will enter it"". [Jaami al-Usool, 10/520, 8068]
an-Nawawi commented on the first hadith:
"This is an example of the beautiful, eloquent and concise speech which the Prophet (saw) was capable, in which he gives a beautiful analogy. It means that nothing will help you to reach Paradise except going through hardships, and nothing will lead you to Hell, but whims and desires. Both are veiled as described, and whoever tears down the veil will reach what was hidden behind it. The veil of Paradise is torn down by going through hardships and the veil of Hell is torn down by giving in to whims and desires. Hardship including striving consistently and patiently in worship, restraining one's anger, forgiving, being patient, giving in charity, being kind to those who mistreat you, resisting physical desires, etc" [Sharh an-Nawawi 'ala Muslim, 17/165]

Islām is not a religion of equality but of Justice – Shaykh Muḥammad Ibn Ṣāleḥ al-‘Uthaymīn
There are some people who speak of equality instead of justice, and this is a mistake. We should not say equality, because equality implies no differentiation between the two.
Because of this unjust call for equality, they ask, “What is the difference between male and female?” So they have made men similar to women.
The communists said, “What difference is there between the ruler and the subject? No one has any authority over anyone else.”
Not even the father over his son?! So, they said the father has no authority over his son and so on.
Instead, if we say justice, which means giving each one what he or she is ennoscriptd, this misunderstanding no longer applies, and the word used is correct.
Allāh does not say in the Qur’ān that He enjoins equality. He said (interpretation of the meaning):
“Verily, Allāh enjoins al-‘Adl (i.e. justice)” [Noble Qur’ān 16:90]
“And that when you judge between men, you judge with justice.” [Noble Qur’ān 4:58]
Those who say that Islām is the religion of equality are lying against Islām. Rather, Islām is the religion of justice, which means treating equally those who are equal and differentiating between those who are different. No one who knows the religion of Islām would say that it is the religion of equality.
Rather what shows you that this principle is false is the fact that most of what is mentioned in the Qur’ān denies equality, as in the following verses:
“Say: Are those who know equal to those who know not?” [Noble Qur’ān 39:9]
“Say: Is the blind equal to the one who sees? Or darkness equal to light?” [Noble Qur’ān 13:16]
“Not equal among you are those who spent and fought before the conquering (of Makkah, with those among you who did so later.” [Noble Qur’ān 57:10]
“Not equal are those of the believers who sit (at home), except those who are disabled (by injury or are blind or lame), and those who strive hard and fight in the Cause of Allāh with their wealth and their lives.” [Noble Qur’ān 4:95]
Not one single letter in the Qur’ān enjoins equality, rather it enjoins justice. You will also find that the word justice is acceptable to people, for I feel that if I am better than this man in terms of knowledge, or wealth, or piety, or in doing good, I would not like for him to be equal to me. Everyone knows that it is unacceptable if we say that the male is equal to the female.

There are some people who speak of equality instead of justice, and this is a mistake. We should not say equality, because equality implies no differentiation between the two.
Because of this unjust call for equality, they ask, “What is the difference between male and female?” So they have made men similar to women.
The communists said, “What difference is there between the ruler and the subject? No one has any authority over anyone else.”
Not even the father over his son?! So, they said the father has no authority over his son and so on.
Instead, if we say justice, which means giving each one what he or she is ennoscriptd, this misunderstanding no longer applies, and the word used is correct.
Allāh does not say in the Qur’ān that He enjoins equality. He said (interpretation of the meaning):
“Verily, Allāh enjoins al-‘Adl (i.e. justice)” [Noble Qur’ān 16:90]

Are You Like Water Or Rock?
Water can teach us many lessons:
Rocks are arrogant, they stubbornly remain how they are, but water is flexible and capable of changing form: if you pour it into a cup, it becomes the cup, if you pour it into a vessel, it becomes the vessel.
A raindrop falls into an ocean and it becomes the ocean!
A rock never changes, but water adapts and changes itself with the changing times and environment: water can become solid (ice), liquid (water) or gas (vapor).
Rocks do not recover after tragedies, but water does. When rocks break, they never become whole again, but when water is split up, it become one again.
Rocks give up. When rocks roll down the hills and they hit a strong barrier which they cannot penetrate, they forever remain where they are. Water on the other hand will navigate around the barrier and try to get through.
If water cannot get through, it will wait patiently until it gathers strength from more water. Together, they will break the dam and get through. If no additional water comes to its rescue, it waits patiently to evaporate and turn into a cloud and escape that way.
Water never gives up, unlike a rock.
Rocks are full of pride and water is humble. Rocks like to be bigger than everyone else and form tall mountains. They like to rise above everyone, but water is humble and flows downwards.
Water allows smaller objects to rise above it.
If mountains contain gold and diamonds, then oceans are also not empty of pearls.
If rocks have the power to kill, then with water, God brings barren deserts to life!
Yet, despite its soft nature, water is very capable of harming those who don’t learn its ways.
So be flexible like water and you will thrive in every situation. If you are stubborn like a rock, you will lead a life full of difficulties.
