DON'T SAY "IF" WHEN SOMETHING BAD BEFALLS

It was narrated that Abu Hurairah said:

"The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'The strong believer is better and more beloved to Allah than the weak believer, although both are good.

Strive for that which will benefit you, seek the help of Allah, and do not feel helpless. If anything befalls you, do not say, "if only I had done such and such" rather say "Qaddara Allahu wa ma sha'a fa'ala (Allah has decreed and whatever he wills, He does)."

For (saying) 'If' opens (the door) to the deeds of Satan.'"

Imam ash-Shafi (رحمة الله) was asked:

"How does a person have bad thoughts of Allah?"

He (رحمة الله) replied:

"By (giving into) whispers, being constantly afraid of a calamity occurring, and waiting for a blessing to be taken away."

How They Used To Be With Knowledge

It is reported that Dhun-Noon Al-Misree, may Allaah have mercy upon him, said:

كان الرجل من أهل العلم يزداد بعلمه بغضا للدنيا وتركا لها، واليوم يزداد الرجل بعلمه للدنيا حبا ولها طلبا، وكان الرجل ينفق ماله على علمه، واليوم يكسب الرجل بعلمه مالا، وكان يرى على صاحب العلم زيادة في باطنه وظاهره، واليوم يرى على كثير من أهل العلم فساد الباطن والظاهر.

“Previously, a man of knowledge would resent and detach himself from this dunyaa the more he increased in knowledge, but now a man loves and desires the dunyaa the more he increases in knowledge. Previously, a man would spend his money on his knowledge, but now a man earns money with his knowledge. Previously, knowledge was seen to improve a person of knowledge inwardly and outwardly, but now it is seen to corrupt many people of knowledge inwardly and outwardly.”

What To Do With The Money Taken From Riba' [Interest]

Shaykh Muhammad Nasiruddeen Al-Albaani [رحمه الله] said:

❝There are many questions regarding the taking of Riba' from banks and in relation to this there are two opinions from the scholars, and by this I mean the present day scholars.

From amongst them, there are those who say that you should leave it in the bank, since it is Haraam [prohibited], and there is no difference of opinion that Riba' is Haraam [prohibited], however the difference of opinion is about leaving it in the bank or taking it out, so this is the first point.

If it is said that you can take it, then it is asked, can you benefit from this Riba or not?

The reply has only one answer, that is, he is prohibited from benefitting from the Riba. So what should he do at this point, here there is a difference of opinion, either he should leave it in the bank and this is harmful, and by doing this there is the evil of helping the banks directly by making them richer, thus this money should be withdrawn so the bank cannot benefit from it, nor the bank clerk who works for the bank, rather he should take it and spend it in general public utilities.

It should not be used to benefit any specific Muslim, what I mean is that he should not take this Riba' and give it to a poor person or to poor people, rather he should spend it in general public utilities.

I shall now elaborate with some examples, regarding leasing out this money, then this is not from the important general public Islaamic utilities, rather it is from the point of view of the Dunya and the increase in worldly gain, as Allaah has characterised the Non-Muslims.

For they know the apparent life of this world, for example they plant trees and grass around graves and beautify them with greenery! Why? So that they do not remember death, so that they cannot see the graves, which would remind them of death.

Anyway the general public utilities are for example, repairing a rugged pathway for crossing which might effect the riding beast or the people, so you can spend on this, or a place that needs a bridge which is used for crossing over a river, so a bridge can be built with that money, or a village needs a machine to pump up water, even if the water is used for the animals, so these are public utilities, and so on.

I want to say that this money should not be spent on Masajid because it is obligatory to build the Masajid upon having Taqwa of Allaah and wealth which is Halaal, but I have said before that if you build toilets with this money, that is, you build toilets for the Masjid, then this is from the public utilities.

As for the Masjid itself, which is used for prayer and for worship, then for this cause it is not permissible absolutely.❞

Do you remember the story in Surah al-Kahf, where the rich owner of the two gardens boasted his success to his friend, saying: “I am greater than you in wealth and superior in manpower”? Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala recorded the friend’s response in the following aayat:

🌺 ❛Perhaps my Rabb will grant me [something] better than your garden, and send down upon your garden a thunderbolt from the sky, turning it into a barren waste. Or its water may sink [into the earth], and then you will never be able to seek it out.❜ 【Surah al-Kahf 18:40-41】

Some scholars said that the poor friend was so hurt by the arrogance of his rich friend, that he handed his grief and sorrow to Allah in du'a, and said the words in the aayat above. What happened next?

🌺 ❛And so all his (i.e. the owner of the two gardens) produce was [totally] ruined, so he started to wring his hands for all he had spent on it, while it had collapsed on its trellises…❜ 【Surah al-Kahf 18:42】

So be afraid of the du’a of the people whom we’ve wronged, because Allah will answer their supplications either sooner or later. One of the frightening things about Allah’s punishment is that sometimes Allah punishes the wrongdoer without him realizing it. A person may have wronged someone many years ago, but the effects of his sins were only felt 20, 30 years later, and he would attribute the hardship that he suffered as something natural, not realizing that it was because of his past oppression. Allah allows a person to experience istidraj, until one day he finds himself in ruins.

So do not intentionally wrong people, and take ownership of your transgression. If the oppressed raises his hands in du’a to Allah against us, we will be ruined. And even if Allah does not give his retribution in this dunya, the consequences in the akhirah are much more severe. Allah says:

🌺 ❛And never think that Allah is unaware of what the wrongdoers do. He only delays them for a Day when eyes will stare (in horror).❜ 【Surah Ibrahim 14:42】

May Allah protect us from wronging others, and being wronged by others.

If we keep watering Islam down, what’s going to be left for the coming generations?

- If salah is a choice,
- If hijab is a choice,
- If fasting is a choice,
- If riba is ok due to convenience,
- If all religions are acceptable and all lead to the same destination,
- If we can congratulate everyone on their festivals which are based on false beliefs/shirk,
- If we can accept lifestyle choices that contradict Allah’s laws etc…,

Then what is the point of Islam?

Will you allow Islam to be reduced to a mere individual belief like Buddhism? Or will you work to establish Islam in all its entirety?

When you see someone older than you, say: he has preceded me in Iman and righteous actions so he is better than me; and when you see someone younger than you, say: I have preceded him in sinning and disobedience so he is better than me. And when you see your brothers honouring and revering you, say this is a virtue they have attained, and when you see them falling short (in their treatment of you) say: this is [because of] a sin I committed.

A GOOD ENDING حُسن الخاتمة

Shaykh Muhammad bin Salih Al-Uthaymeen (rahimahullah) said:

‘The goal of having a good ending is not that you die whilst you are in the masjid, or while you are upon a prayer mat, or you die with a Qur’aan in your hands. Indeed the best of all creation (sallallaahu alayhiwa sallam) died while he was on his bed.His friend Abu Bakr as-Siddiq (radiAllahuanhu) while on his bed, and he was the best of the Companions.
Khalid bin Waleed (radiAllahuanhu) died while he was on his bed, and he was given the noscript the unsheathed sword of Allaah, who plunged into a hundred battles and did not lose in any of them.

However, a good ending in essence is:

• That you die and are far away from Shirk.
• That you die and are far away from Nifaq (hypocrisy).
• That you die and you are separate from the people of Bidah and far away from Bidah.
• That you die and you are upon the Book, the Sunnah and believe in that which is brought in them without twisting their meanings.
• That you die and you are relieved of the burden of spilling the blood of Muslims, their wealth and their honour.
• That you fulfill the right of Allaah upon you and the right of Allaah’s worshippers upon you.
• That you die and your heart is secure with pure intentions and good manners; and does not have hatred, envy, nor spite for a Muslim.
• That you pray your five prayers on their times in Jama’ah (Congregation) for one has to pray in congregation.
• Also to fulfill what Allaah has obligated upon you.

O Allaah make all our final matters good. Save us from disgrace in the Duniya and the punishment of the Hereafter.

O Allaah make our final end good and return us to you in a beautiful way not disgraced and exposed.’

They don’t teach this in schools:

The poor man thinks he will get rich by saving cash under his pillow, this is a catastrophic mistake, which keeps generations of people in the loop of poverty.

They will never escape poverty if they think like that.

You don’t get rich by saving pennies here and there, you get rich by making money.

To get rich, you need to take risks, invest and open up multiple revenue streams, even if it’s at the cost of going temporarily in debt.

Money has to move, it has to flow. When money sits still, it loses value. When it’s in movement, it multiplies itself.

Also, never rely on one revenue stream, open up multiple income streams, dig multiple wells - if one well dries up, the other wells will quench your thirst.

When you generate passive income from multiple sources, you will be able to escape poverty, In Sha Allah.

The Bible says:
“𝗔 𝗴𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗺𝗮𝗻 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝘃𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗻 𝗶𝗻𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗿𝗲𝗻'𝘀 𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗿𝗲𝗻.”

Abū Wāil narrated that Hudhayfa bin Yamān [رضي الله عنه] took two stones and put one on top the other and than said to his companions:

“Do you see the light between these two stones?”

They said: “Oh Abā ʿAbdullāh we do not see any light between them except a little.”

He said: “By Him in Whose Hand my soul is! Innovations shall become widespread up until the truth will not be seen except to the degree that which you see the light between these two stones. By Allah innovations shall spread up until if something from it is abandoned it will be said: “The Sunnah has been abandoned!””

Allāh ﷻ Is More Merciful Than A Mother To Her Child

Umar ibn al-Khattāb reported: Some prisoners of war were brought to the Prophet ﷺ and a nursing woman was among them. Whenever she found a child among the prisoners, she would take it to her chest and nurse it.

The Prophet ﷺ said to us, “Do you think this woman would throw her child into the fire?”

We said, “No, not if she was able to stop it.” The Prophet ﷺ said,

“Allāh is more merciful to His servants than this mother is to her child.”

Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī [no. 5999]

Benefits from the narration:

- Allāh is more merciful to His slaves than the most merciful of mothers to her child, for the One Who made her merciful must be more merciful than her.

- It is not permissible for anyone to despair in the Mercy of Allāh despite how great his/her sins are.

See Majmū’ al-Fatāwā [16/19 & 16/448] - Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah [رحمه الله].

Action Plan:

1 - Turn to Allāh in repentance no matter how many sins you have committed.
2 - Supplicate [Dua’a] for the mercy of Allāh.
3 - When going through a calamity say:
“إِنَّا لِلَّهِ وَإِنَّآ إِلَيۡهِ رَٲجِعُونَ"
[Truly! To Allāh we belong and truly, to Him we shall return].
4 - Be merciful to others.

Never saw a man praying 5 times a day, reciting Qur'an, doing his adhkar, eating Halal, staying away from Haram, and then crying over "depression"

It's a modern concept to weaken the soul and keep you distracted from deen

Feeling stressed? Get closer to Allah and His deen, and you will definitely see betterment!

*We are living in such a weird time. *

.The poor want to swag and show the entire world they are living large.
.The rich are desperate to find a single person who is actually interested in them - and not their money.
.Those in war zones are crying out for peace.
.Those in safety want to prove who can cause the greatest devastation. .
.The old use botox to hide the wrinkles and would do anything in this world to look slightly younger.
.The young buy clothes and makeup to look just a bit older and revealing.

.Those with light-skin pay thousands to get a bit of a tan.
.Those with dark skin spend fortunes on products to look a touch lighter.

.The skinny want to gain a little weight to feel more beautiful.
.The overweight would do anything to shed fat so they could feel more accepted.
.The tall are sick of standing out.
.The short look in the mirror every day wanting to be slightly bigger.

.Parents pray for a little free time away from the kids.
.Those without children yearn for the gift of a newborn.
.The married are frustrated with their partners.
.The singles are fed up of being alone.

.Leaders secretly wish they did not have all these responsibilities.
.Followers wish they could take the seat of accountability.

.The employed are desperate to sit home and chill.
.The unemployed are going crazy and running around trying to find a job.
.People on one side of the planet are sick of all the rain.
.On the other side of the world, people are praying for a single drop.

"If only my nose was straighter! If only my bank balance was bigger! If only... if only..."

Everyone dreams of "If only" but In reality - Allah knows what is best for us.
Everyone thinks that the next man is living better than him.
Everyone assumes the grass is always greener on the other side. That is not the case. All of us believe that people out there are living perfect lives, but we forgot that nothing in the dunya is what it seems.

Perfection is only in the Next World. Allah said, "And few from My servants are truly thankful." The Prophet ﷺ did not stand up or sit down without showing gratitude to Allah. He said if you wake in the morning with food on your plate, with security in your home and with good health then you have been given the treasures of the world. How often we forget that! Our Lord said, "If you are thankful - I shall surely increase you."

The Virtue of the Month of Sha'ban:

1. Deeds are Elevated to Allah in this Month:

Narrated by Usama ibn Zaid: I said, "O Messenger of Allah, I do not see you fasting in any month as much as you fast in Sha'ban." The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "That is a month people neglect between Rajab and Ramadan, and it is a month in which deeds are lifted to the Lord of the Worlds. I love for my deeds to be lifted while I am fasting."

📚[Authenticated by Al-Albani, may Allah have mercy on him.]

2- The Frequency of Fasting by the Prophet (ﷺ) in Sha'ban:

Narrated by Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her): "The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to fast so much during Sha'ban that we would say, 'He will not break his fast,' and he would break his fast so much that we would say, 'He will not fast.' I never saw the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) complete a month of fasting except for Ramadan, and I never saw him fasting more in any other month than in Sha'ban."

📗 [Reported by Bukhari, Muslim, Abu Dawood, An-Nasa'i, Tirmidhi, and others.]

3- The Forgiveness of Sins on the Night of the Mid-Sha'ban:

The Prophet (ﷺ) said: "Indeed, Allah looks upon His creation on the night of the middle of Sha'ban, and He forgives all of them except for the polytheist and the one harboring enmity."

[Narrated by Ibn Majah and authenticated by Al-Albani.]

🔹️The Wisdom Behind Fasting in the Month of Sha'ban:

Ibn Rajab, may Allah have mercy on him, said:

"Fasting in Sha'ban serves as a preparation for Ramadan, so that one enters Ramadan without hardship or difficulty. Rather, they have trained themselves in fasting and become accustomed to it. By fasting in Sha'ban, one experiences the sweetness and pleasure of fasting, thus entering Ramadan with strength and enthusiasm. Since Sha'ban acts as an introduction to Ramadan, it includes what is legislated for Ramadan, such as fasting and recitation of the Quran, to prepare oneself for the arrival of Ramadan. This instills in souls the readiness to engage in obedience to the Most Merciful."

📙[ Lata'if al-Ma'arif (138)]

▫️What the Pious Predecessors Used to Do in Sha'ban:

➡️Salama bin Kuhayl said:
"It was said that Sha'ban is the month of reciters."

➡️And Habib bin Abi Thabit used to say when Sha'ban began:
"This is the month of reciters."

➡️Amr bin Qays al-Malai used to close his shop when Sha'ban began and dedicate himself to reading the Quran.

📙[ "Lata'if al-Ma'arif" (138)]

📍Rulings of the Night of Mid-Sha'ban

5- How to reconcile between the hadith "When the middle of Sha'ban comes, do not fast" and the hadith "Indeed, the Prophet (ﷺ) used to fast Sha'ban until Ramadan"?

▪️ Shaykh Ibn Baz, may Allah have mercy on him, said:

A- The Prophet (ﷺ) used to fast the whole month of Sha'ban, but perhaps he omitted fasting for a few days.

B- As for the hadith prohibiting fasting after the middle of Sha'ban, it is authentic, as stated by the esteemed scholar Shaykh Nasir al-Din al-Albani. The prohibition is against starting fasting after the middle of Sha'ban, but whoever fasts for the majority of the month or the entire month has adhered to the Sunnah.
