📌📌📌 "Virtues of Surah Kahf 📖"

Following are some of the sayings of the Holy Prophet about the virtues and properties of Surah Kahf:

1. Noor :

A light will be illuminated between him and Makkah and he will be illuminated with it on the day of resurrection...

From Abu Sa’eed al-Khudri, who said: “Whoever reads Soorat al-Kahf on the night of Jumu’ah, will have a light that will stretch between him and the Ancient House (the Kaaba).”

(Narrated by al-Daarimi, 3407. This hadeeth was classed as Saheeh by Shaykh al-Albaani in Saheeh al-Jaami, 6471)

“Whoever reads the letter of Al-Kahf on Friday, it will be emitted light for him between two Jum’at.”

"جو شخص جمعہ کے دن سورہ کہف پڑھے اس کے لیے دو جمعوں کے درمیان نور روشن ہو جائے گا۔”

(Narrated by Al-Hakim: 2/368 and Al-Bayhaqi: 3/249.)

2. Forgiveness from Sins:

Anyone who reads Surah Kahf on Friday then His sins between the two Fridays will be forgiven.

It was narrated that Ibn ‘Umar (may Allaah be pleased with him) said: “The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: ‘Whoever reads Soorat al-Kahf on the day of Jumu’ah, a light will shine for him from beneath his feet to the clouds of the sky, which will shine for him on the Day of Resurrection, and he will be forgiven (his sins) between the two Fridays.’”

Al-Mundhiri said this was narrated by Abu Bakr ibn Mardawayh in his Tafseer, with an isnaad with which there was nothing wrong.

(al-Targheeb wa’l-Tarheeb, 1/298)

3. Protection from Dajjal:

This is a very unique virtue of this Surah. We are encouraged to memorize the first ten verses of this Surah and we are promised protection from the fitna of dajjal. According to many scholars, we are at the end of time and it’s high time that we take this seriously and act on the following hadith and encourage our children as well do to this.

“If anyone learns by heart the first ten verses of the Surah al-Kahf, he will be protected from the Dajjal.”

(Sahih Muslim 809a)

4. When is the best time to read:

We are asked to recite Surah Kahf either on the night or the day of Friday. So it will be between Sunset on Thursday to Sunset on Friday.

“It is recommended to read it during the day or night of Jumu’ah, as al-Shafi’i (may Allah have mercy on him) stated.”

(Fayd al-Qadir, 6/198)

If Allāh spared you from the trials in Gaza, it doesn't mean that you are better, maybe you can't handle the trial like them.
Ibn Qayyim on Jama’ah: Even if you are alone, you are the Jama’ah

Ibn al-Qayyim reported: Abdullah Ibn Mas’ud, may Allah be pleased with him, said, “The united community is that which adheres to the truth, even if you are alone.”

Nuaym ibn Hammad said, “If the community becomes corrupted, you must adhere to its practice before it became corrupt. Even if you are alone, you by yourself would be the united community.”

1️⃣ We are supposed to complain about our problems to Allaah, but instead, a lot of us end up complaining about Allaah.

What this leads one to is lose hope in Allaah’s promise, abandoning Du`aa, weak Imaan, lack of Trust, and in some cases, apostasy.

2️⃣ We are in no position to impose conditions on Allaah. We should not say/think: "O Allaah! If You do such-and-such for me, I will do such-and-such for You." Rather, it is Allaah who imposes conditions on us. If you do good, you will be rewarded with good, and if you do evil, then you will reap evil.

The proper method is to do good and ask Allaah through the Waseelah of our good deeds. Like how the three - who got stuck - in the cave did.

{And among mankind is he who worships Allaah as it were, upon the very edge (i.e. in doubt); if good befalls him, he is content therewith; but if a trial befalls him, he turns back on his face (i.e. reverts back to disbelief after embracing Islaam). He loses both this world and the Hereafter. That is the evident loss.}

Be easy going on the insolvents:

In this materialistic world it is difficult to find someone who after losing financially is still not hurt by the loss. Therefore, we find that the people who give out money (as a loan) are less; and lesser than them are those who give respite to the insolvent; and even lesser than them are those who write-off the debt. No wonder Allaah تعالى has assigned great rewards for these actions.

Hudhaifah رضي الله عنه reported Allaah’s Messenger صلى الله عليه وسلم as saying: “The angels took away the soul of a person who had lived among people who were before you. They (the angels) said: Did you do anything good? He said: No. they said: Try to recall. He said: I used to lend to people and order my servants to give respite to one in straitened circumstances and give allowance to the solvent. Then Allaah تعالى said (to the angels): {You should ignore (his failing).}” [Saheeh Muslim (4076)]

Abu Masood and Hudhaifah رضي الله عنهما were together in a gathering. Hudhaifah رضي الله عنه said: A person met his Lord (after death) and He تعالى said: {What (good) did you do?} He said: I did no good except that I was a rich man, and I demanded from the people (the repayment of debt that I advanced to them). I, however, accepted that which the solvent gave and remitted (the debt) of the insolvent, whereupon He تعالى said (to the angels): {You should ignore (the faults) of My servant}. Abu Masood رضي الله عنه said: This is what I heard Allaah's Messenger صلى الله عليه وسلم as saying. [Saheeh Muslim (4077)]

`Abdullaah bin Abu Qataadah reported that Abu Qataadah رضي الله عنه demanded (the payment of his debt) from his debtor but he (the debtor) disappeared; later on he (Abu Qataadah) found him and he (the debtor) said: I am hard up financially, whereupon he (Abu Qataadah) said: (Do you state it) by Allaah? He said: By Allaah! Upon this he (Abu Qataadah) said: I heard Allaah’s Messenger صلى الله عليه وسلم as saying: “He who loves that Allaah saves him from the torments of the Day of Resurrection should give respite to the insolvent or remit (his debt).” [Saheeh Muslim (4083)]

Refraining From Forbidding Evil

Iblīs has convinced some worshipers not to forbid evil on the basis that only righteous people ought to do so. They say: I am not worthy because I am not righteous enough, so how could I impose on others?

This is wrong, for he should forbid others from committing sins including sins that he, himself, is committing. However, it is better if he stops committing this sin and then forbids others. His admonishment would be more effective this way.

The Prevalence of Usury in Speaking ill of Muslims

Narrated Sa'id ibn Zayd: The Prophet ﷺ said:

إِنَّ مِنْ أَرْبَى الرِّبَا الاِسْتِطَالَةَ فِي عِرْضِ الْمُسْلِمِ بِغَيْرِ حَقٍّ

The most prevalent kind of usury is going to lengths in talking unjustly against a Muslim's honour.

📖 Sunan Abū Dāwūd 4867 | Ṣaḥīḥ

Explanation: This Ḥadīth warns against speaking ill about another Muslim's honour. It is considered to be the most common form of usury and should be avoided at all costs. Usury is an act that goes against Islamic teachings and values; it involves taking undue advantage or exploiting someone else for personal gain by charging more interest than normal. In this case, it would involve using words to hurt another person's reputation or character in order to benefit oneself. This hadith teaches us that we should always strive to protect each other's honour and respect one another regardless of our differences. We should not use words as a weapon but instead use them to build bridges between people and create understanding between different communities.

Who is Your Brother?

Shaykh Ibn Baz -may Allah have mercy on him- said:

“Your brother is the one who advises you, reminds you and alerts you. Your brother is not the one who ignores you, turns away from you and is amiable to you. Rather you brother in reality is the one who advises you, the one who warns you and reminds you, calls you to Allah, clarifies for you the path to salvation until you tread it and warns you from the path of destruction and clarifies for you its evil outcome until you avoid it.”

Who Lowers the Deceased Body into the grave

Men should lower the dead person into the grave, even if it was a woman. There are several reasons for this, among which the following:

a) This has been the practice of the Muslims since the time of Allah’s Messenger (H)
b) Men are stronger than women for that job.
c) If women were to do it, some of their bodies may get exposed to the strangers in the process.
d) It is prohibited for the women to follow the janazah, which limits their presence during the burial.

Ibn al-Qayyim (rahimullaah) said,

“If Allaah puts a person under certain tests and trials and the person recognizes that he must resort to Allaah alone seeking His help, then this is a good sign for him; the trials turn to purification and mercy.

If on the other hand, he rejects, complains, and turns away from Allaah and seeks help from human beings like himself, then this is a bad sign for him; the trials turn to punishment and misery for him.”

We see there are differences of opinion when it comes to the Hijab. Mainly two opinions, one that it is not obligatory to cover the face and hands, and another, the authentic one, is that it is obligatory upon every woman to cover their faces.

But one day, regardless of how much argument one engages in, or even if some don't even adhere to hijab due to ignorance and many other reasons, may Allah guide us all and forgive us. One day every Muslim sister has to cover herself head to toe. Not a part of her body will be shown. Even if she did not wear the niqab, even if she did not wear hijab at all.

That day will be the day she dies, the day she will be shrouded. White long cloth will be wrapped around her. No body structure, no way will able to identify who she is just by looking.

Fearing death when it arrives is not really the time you should change your life because you will not have any life left to change. You will not be given any chance or option of different "opinions". The way you always lead your deen upon "different opinions", so much unacceptability, so much skepticism when it comes to the Deen of Allah. But you never once question the things you learn when you are studying Medicine. When we get sick, we do not counter-argue with the doctor; we trust him as if he speaks the revelation of Allah.

Life is hard for everyone; we have to ask ourselves what really is valuable for us. Tawheed is the only way of success. Tawheed is what we need in our day-to-day life. Unless we establish Tawheed, there is no hope for Muslims, true submission is when you have Tawheed in your heart. This is why we are so skeptical, we are so picky when it comes to Deen.

Everyone is a sinner; sin is to repent. We need to repent, but it won't be possible when you don't know who Allah is, you cannot keep up with your repentance, and keep repenting, unless you have Tawheed in your heart .

The Reasons for Humiliation

It was narrated that Ibn ‘Umar said: “The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said: ‘When you enter into ‘Īnah* transactions, take the hold of the tails of cattle, and are content with farming, and you forsake Jihād, Allāh will cause humiliation to prevail over you and will not withdraw it until you return to your religion.’”

Source: English Translation of Sunan Abū Dāwūd Volume 4 (Darussalam), The Book of Employment, Chapter 54. Regarding the Prohibition of al-‘Īnah, p. 123 [Grade: Ṣaḥīḥ (authentic) according to al-Albānī]

*An ‘Īnah transaction is to sell something for a price to be paid at a later date, then the seller buys it back for a lower price; this is a trick used to circumvent the prohibition on lending with interest. The buyer of the commodity simply sells it back to the original seller for cash while still owing the higher amount that is paid in installments. This is a backdoor to Ribā (usury).
