What we do: Our research applies large-scale, empirical approaches for addressing Internet security and online environments to provide both technical and practical assessments and solutions to businesses. We devise systems that monitor complex networked ecosystems and use the resulting viewpoints to comprehend online behaviors, identify vulnerabilities, design more resilient protocols/platforms, and guide policy decisions. Areas of interest includes: operational cyber security, cyber forensics, critical infrastructure security, data analytics, digital investigation and Internet measurements.
Why we do it: We focus on Internet-of-Things (IoT), Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS), and Artificial Intelligence (AI) domain applications that will become realizable and used widely. ☑️ Eligible candidates for this 2-year position must have a Ph.D. or M.D. with a background in cognitive neuroscience, neuropsychology, bioinformatics, biostatistics, cognitive psychology, experimental psychology, neuroimaging, psychology, or a related discipline
My lab is hiring! Please share this with anyone who may be interested. We are seeking a highly motivated candidate for this National Multiple Sclerosis Society-funded postdoctoral fellowship available in the laboratory of Dr. Victoria Leavitt to study cognitive rehabilitation in MS with an emphasis on multimodal neuroimaging methods. Current studies in Dr. Leavitt’s lab focus on developing treatment interventions involving behavioral and pharmacologic approaches targeting modifiable lifestyle factors including diet, exercise, mood, and intellectual enrichment that protect against cognitive decline. The Leavitt Lab has ongoing grant-funded studies to identify neural candidate biomarkers for cognitive impairment in MS, treatment interventions, and longitudinal studies to identify risk/protective factors for cognitive decline in MS. In addition, an ongoing study involves analysis of cohort data from >16,000 MS patients.
Eligible candidates for this 2-year position must have a Ph.D. or M.D. with a background in cognitive neuroscience, neuropsychology, bioinformatics, biostatistics, cognitive psychology, experimental psychology, neuroimaging, psychology, or a related discipline. Our division has a well-established record of post-doctoral training. The fellow selected for this position will be mentored by Dr. Leavitt, and will also have opportunities to work with other faculty mentors in the Cognitive Neuroscience Division, led by Prof. Yaakov Stern, and the Columbia University Multiple Sclerosis Center led by Philip De Jager, MD, PhD, and Claire Riley, MD. Our multidisciplinary care center is a world-class treatment and research facility devoted to exemplary patient care and ground-breaking clinical research.
The Cognitive Rehabilitation in MS Fellowship Training Program is designed to provide a solid research foundation for studying cognitive rehabilitation in MS with a specific focus on the development of science-based treatments. The ultimate goal of the program is to prepare the fellow for an independent research career. The fellow will be involved in studies utilizing a broad range of interrelated research approaches including classic neuropsychological evaluation, experimental cognitive techniques, measurement development, clinical trial development, cognitive neuroimaging including structural and functional MRI, DTI, resting BOLD, FLAIR, and MRS. There is an opportunity to work with a dataset of 16,000+ patients, applying machine learning approaches. Therefore, familiarity with large data analysis is a strength.
To apply, please send a cover letter describing your research interests and your CV to Dr. Leavitt, VL2337@cumc.columbia.edu. Start date for this position is flexible; applications will be considered on an ongoing basis.

☑️ AI, Healthcare, Education
The Pitt Health + Explainable AI (Pitt HexAI) [https://lnkd.in/eJ_CvByV] Research Laboratory at the University of Pittsburgh, led by Ahmad P. Tafti, has a simple goal: to make healthcare better through the power of explainable artificial intelligence (AI). From computational perspective, our research focuses on engineering, implementing, validating, and deploying cutting-edge fundamental and applied explainable AI algorithms, and promote their applications in healthcare problems. We attempt to answer three main questions: 1) how advanced explainable AI strategies are developing in healthcare, 2) how they shape healthcare systems, and 3) how they impact the healthcare community. From clinical perspective, our research agenda spans musculoskeletal diseases and disorders that may follow total joint arthroplasty (TJA).
The Pitt HexAI Research Laboratory is functioning at University of Pittsburgh School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences. Our group at Pitt HexAI is a multidisciplinary team, and it benefits from several extramural collaborations with other academic institutions, nationwide and worldwide. Moreover, our group aims to provide highest quality education and research experience in AI-powered health informatics at all levels from K-12 to undergraduate to graduate and postdoctoral levels.
We welcome collaboration in areas of mutual interest from academic organizations and industrial partners.
