One Ph.D. Position Available at the University of Rhode Island (Fall 2023)

I am looking for Ph.D. students (1 position at this moment) as research or teaching assistants to join my group. We will work on interdisciplinary projects to enhance the resiliency of today’s cyber-physical systems and Internet-of-things, such as electric power grids. Students with interests and experiences in areas related to system/network security and reliability, computer networks, and power systems are encouraged to apply. The positions will remain open until filled by qualified candidates.

Qualification:
* B.S. or M.S. degree in computer engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, or closely related areas.
* Strong interest in cybersecurity, cyber-physical systems, and machine learning
* Strong programming skills
• (plus not required) experiences in software-defined networking or P4
• (plus not required) experiences in generative adversarial networks or deep reinforcement learning

As part of the NSF-funded Research Training Group “Optimization and Inversion for the 21st Century Workforce,” the Department of Mathematics at the University of Utah invites applicants for graduate student (PhD) research assistantships. These positions involve working closely with applied mathematics faculty to contribute to RTG initiatives and the overarching goals of the RTG as described at https://www.math.utah.edu/amrtg/. Dr. Salimur Choudhury:

I am looking for several master's and Ph.D. students starting in Fall 2023. The successful candidates will be doing research in the newly created research lab (opening in Jan 2023), GOAL (Global Optimization, Analytics, and Learning) in the School of Computing at Queen's University, Kingston, ON, Canada. Research Topics include AI, Algorithms, Next Generation Network Management and Optimization, Healthcare Resource Planning, and Natural Resource Management.

Qualifications

Undergraduate degree in Computer science (with CGPA of more than 3.8 out of 4.0).  Solid background in Mathematics and excellent programming skills. Our lab members will be working closely with various industry and government sectors.  Very good communication skills are essential.

For Ph.D. (additional requirements): Completion or near completion of a thesis-based master's degree.
