There is an opening for a Ph.D. student who will be working in the Department of Electronics at Carleton University. The purpose of this position is to advance knowledge about human activity/behavior recognition and anomaly detection in residential buildings. This is a collaborative research project with the National Research Council Canada (NRC) and extensions to industrial collaborations will also be pursued. The position requires an excellent ability to think innovatively and independently, and previous experience in acoustic signal processing and machine learning for activity classification and time series prediction (preferably in Python). Previous experience in transfer learning and/or data fusion techniques is an asset.
