(1) A M.S. or Bachelor's degree in related fields (Civil, Mechanical, Environmental, Natural Resources, or other fields with strong math training)

(2) A strong programming skill (Julia, Matlab, Python, or any language of the candidate’s choice).

(3) An ability to lead undergraduate students to finish research tasks.

(5) Self-motivated, and is able to work individually and collaboratively in a dynamic working environment.

This PhD project is part of a joint effort together with Elin Esbjörner, Fredrik Westerlund, Giovanni Volpe and Samir EL Andaloussi, with the goal to develop nanofluidics-based microscopy tools to unravel the mysteries of biological nanoparticles secreted by cells. Your project will focus on developing and adapting Nanofluidic Scattering Microscopy for this purpose in terms of nanofluidic system design, biofunctionalization, fundamental understanding of the optical properties of the coupled nanochannel - nanoparticle system, and data analysis.
