We are looking for Ph.D. students (in Computer Science) who are self-motivated, curious, and interested in working on problems with high real-world impact. In my group, we perform quantitative and experimental research using machine/deep learning, knowledge graphs, natural language processing/understanding, multimodal learning, and data science for problems in social, business, and health domains. Our projects develop and utilize novel AI techniques to learn more coherent, contextualized, robust, and fair representations of data using ML, NLP, and knowledge graphs, in unimodal and multimodal settings.
In our group, Ph.D. students are trained in research and professional development to make her/him competent in the fields of computing and informatics. The student will receive training under the mentorship of Prof. Ugur Kursuncu. As our projects mostly have a crucial interdisciplinary scope, it is essential to have the ability to work with collaborators from other disciplines. The hired Ph.D. students will have the opportunity to collaborate with partners from industry and academia. Further, if you would like to see your work having an impact, being deployed, and/or used by people, it would be an opportunity for you.
