About Yang Research Group
Dr. Jin Yang joined the Department of Aerospace Engineering & Engineering Mechanics at UT-Austin as an assistant professor in Fall 2022. He earned his bachelor's degree in Engineering Mechanics from Tsinghua University's Tsien Mechanics Class Program with an honor degree in 2013. He received his PhD in 2019 from the California Institute of Technology. Then he was a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the University of Wisconsin-Madison between 2019 and 2022. He is the recipient of a U.S. NSF grant, the Haythornthwaite Seed Grant from ASME, and the International Congress of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics (ICTAM) fellowship.

Construction 3D printing with sustainable materials has the potential to revolutionize the construction industry and the structural engineering discipline by reducing its environmental footprint and reducing production costs and times, making housing more affordable and available to all. We expect the successful candidate will make significant contributions to this evolving field.

Demonstrated solid background in electrochemistry, electrochemical engineering, materials synthesis, catalysis, physicochemical characterization (e.g., NMR, XPS, XRD, TGA, FTIR, Raman, microscopy, etc.) are preferred.
Able to communicate results through well-designed presentations, publish journal articles and reports, and present results at conferences, workshops, and project meetings.
Able to prepare, organize and submit proposals necessary for grant applications.

Ph.D. degree in Chemical Engineering (or a closely related field) from an accredited university within the five years immediately preceding the start date of this posting.
