Motivated students interested in learning new laboratory skills in solid-state physics, quantum optics, and nanomaterials science are encouraged to contact Dr. Laraoui at alaraoui2@unl.edu. In your email, please include your detailed academic CV (with list of papers, conference attended, technical and personal skills) with a motivation letter. Ideally students should have a BSc or MSc in Condensed Matter Physics, Physics, Electrical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or other related fields. Ideally, interested applicants have at least one of the following skills: basic/advanced background in programming (LabView, Python, MATLAB), data analysis (Mathematica, MATLAB, OriginLab,...), experience with scanning probe microscopy (AFM, MFM, NV-SPM), microwave electronics, sample characterization, and performing experiments in optics and magnetism.
