We are looking for a PhD student or postdoctoral researcher for a project to develop a new type of soft deformation sensor in the Soft Robotics for Autonomous Systems group at the University of Stuttgart. The positions will be filled as soon as we find a suitable candidate. The researcher will be paid a competitive salary (according to TV-L E13 level).
Ideal start date: As soon as possible
Tasks include:
- Development of a polymeric materials system for the sensor.
- Sensor design and fabrication.
- Characterization and modeling of the deformation-dependent impedance of the sensor.
- Development of a readout algorithm using machine learning.
For the PhD position, the ideal candidate has
