Our ambitious project aims to lay the groundwork for Distributed Dynamic State Estimators (D-DSE), marking a significant milestone in adapting to new and dynamic contexts. Through a multidisciplinary approach, we will tackle four key objectives:
a) Develop a solution enabling sophisticated waveform data analysis, surpassing current equipment limitations in time-frequency resolution.
b) Design wave characterization and dynamic state estimation algorithms to facilitate parameter identification and model calibration, essential for accurate analysis and prediction.
c) Identify and harness opportunities for utilizing D-DSE to enable operational digital twins, enhancing efficiency and decision-making in various domains.
d) Develop digital substation simulators, providing a testbed for prototypes and validating the effectiveness of D-DSE solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
• Engage in pioneering research to develop innovative solutions for waveform data analysis with superior time-frequency resolution.
• Design and implement advanced algorithms for wave characterization, dynamic state estimation, parameter identification, and model calibration.
• Collaborate with industry partners to explore applications of D-DSE in operational digital twins and develop strategies for implementation.
• Contribute to the development and facilitating the testing and validation of D-DSE prototypes.
Qualifications:
• Ph.D. candidates: A Master's degree in electrical power engineering. Strong analytical and programming skills are essential.
• Postdoc candidates: A Ph.D. in electrical power/telecommunication engineering with expertise in signal processing, estimation theory, machine learning, and IEC 61850 standard. Also, the candidate must have graduated within the last 4 years.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, MATLAB, and C++. Experience with data analysis and algorithm development is highly desirable.
