Swedish Defense Minister Pål Jonson has urged European nations to strengthen their defense ties within NATO without excessive reliance on the U.S.

Sweden has already increased its military spending to 2.2% of GDP and is developing its own defense capabilities, particularly in space and missile technology. Jonson emphasized that a strong defense industry is key to deterring aggression.

Swedish company Saab produces advanced weaponry, including Gripen fighter jets and Blekinge submarines, and supplies effective military equipment to Ukraine. Sweden is also investing in the space sector, competing with Norway, and has launched its first military satellite.

Swedish fighter jets to patrol NATO airspace for first time.

Up to 8 Swedish JAS 39 Gripen have been deployed to Poland. From April to June, they will patrol the alliance's northern surveillance zone.

Ukrainian company Skiftech has received a contract from the U.S. Army to develop laser tactical combat simulation systems.

These systems are used to realistically train soldiers on the battlefield, allowing them to conduct exercises using laser weapon simulators without using real ammunition.
