Upon close inspection of the claims that Ellen White's writings were edited, it has been concluded that these claims do not hold. Just as some Bible readers in the past used its verses out of context to sow seeds of doubt, those who read Ellen White's writings used some quotes out of context to cause doubt in her many other books. Please take your time and learn how these quotes were misused to cause uncertainty in her testimonies.

There is need of a Sabbath reform among us, who profess to observe God's holy rest-day. Some discuss their business matters and lay plans on the Sabbath, and God looks upon this in the same light as though they engaged in the actual transaction of business. Others who are well acquainted with the Bible evidences that the seventh day is the Sabbath, enter into partnership with men who have no respect for God's holy day. A Sabbath-keeper cannot allow men in his employ, paid by his money, to work on the Sabbath. If, for the sake of gain, he allows the business in which he has an interest to be carried on on the Sabbath by his unbelieving partner, he is equally guilty with the unbeliever; and it is his duty to dissolve the relation, however much he may lose by so doing. Men may think they cannot afford to obey God, but they cannot afford to disobey him. Those who are careless in their observance of the Sabbath will suffer great loss. [RH March 18,  1884, par. 7]

The third angel’s message is the proclamation of the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus Christ. The commandments of God have been proclaimed, but the faith of Jesus Christ has not been proclaimed by Seventh-day Adventists as of equal importance, the law and the gospel going hand in hand. I cannot find language to express this subject in its fullness.“The faith of Jesus.” It is talked of, but not understood. What constitutes the faith of Jesus that belongs to the third angel’s message? Jesus becoming our sin-bearer that He might become our sin-pardoning Saviour. He was treated as we deserve to be treated. He came to our world and took our sins that we might take His righteousness. There is soon coming a time when you will not be able to call upon God. Praise God that time has not come yet, His mercy still pleads today. But not for much longer. If you have not accepted Jesus as your Redeemer and Saviour from sin, I encourage you to do so even now. He loves you so much, more than you may ever know. Jesus left His throne in the heavenly courts, to become a man and suffered and die for you and I. Pray to your Father in heaven and accept this free gift of salvation and forgiveness, that Christ has purchased for you on His cross.

No human mind should seek to draw the line between the colored and the white people. Let circumstances indicate what shall be done, for the Lord has His hand on the lever of circumstances. True love seeks first the honor of God and the salvation of souls. Those who have this love will not evade the truth to save themselves from the unpleasant results of plain speaking. When souls are in peril, God's ministers will not consider self, but will speak the word given them to speak, refusing to excuse or palliate evil." (PK 140-141)
