✨The cryptocurrency market in the first week of August 2023 got out of the gloomy situation of the previous month with a series of news: Curve was attacked by hackers, MicroStrategy wants to buy more BTC, Vietnam ranks 5th in terms of trading volume on Binance exchange.

✨Over the past week, the crypto market decreased by ~$20B (from ~$1,181B to ~$1,161B) of its total capitalization.

✨Bitcoin Getting Squeezed at $29K
✅The bears were in control and pushed BTC down to $28.5K but were stopped by the bulls afterward in the first two days of August. But overall, BTC has had days trading in a very narrow range - $29K

✅However, it's worth noting that these calm periods are not typical for the cryptocurrency market and tend to be a precursor to a larger move. We must wait and see which direction BTC will take when it fluctuates.

✨Altcoins Also Flatline
✅It's not just the Bitcoin price experiencing a volume draught. It's also the altcoin market.

✅Among the top altcoins, only SHIB has the best growth of the week with 11% amid a stagnating market like this, which is worth noting. Other altcoins are in slightly red

✅BSCS is trading at $0,008172, +1,95% from its 7-day all-time low of $0,008016.

✅Total market cap of altcoins this week is ~$600B

✨Bitcoin Fear and Greed Index is 49 - Neutral, lower than at the beginning of the week (50)

🔊Weekly Market Highlights #59: August 7 - August 13

✨Last week, the crypto market had much notable news: PayPal launched PYUSD, Sam Bankman-Fried went to jail, the FED issued new crypto regulations, Aptos Labs and Microsoft united AI and Blockchain for Innovative Solutions.

✨Over the past week, the crypto market increased by ~$11B (from ~$1,161B to ~$1,172B) of its total capitalization.

✨BTC Boring at $29K
✅This past Monday saw some movements as BTC dipped below $29K to a weekly low. However, it went on the offensive almost immediately and had surged past $30K by Wednesday.

✅More volatility was expected on Thursday when the US CPI numbers were set to come out. Yet, that wasn't the case, and BTC remained at just under $30K.

✅The following several days were relatively stagnant once again. Bitcoin stood still within the same tight range between $29K and $29,5K. Given the typically lower trading volumes, the weekend didn't provide anything different.

✨TON Steals the Show
✅Most altcoins have also failed to produce notable moves in the past week. BNB, DOGE, ADA, TRX, MATIC, and LTC are all slightly in the red.

✅TONCOIN has soared the most from the larger-cap alts. TON is up by ~15% and trades at $1.4. SHIB, which was following, increased by ~10%.

✅BSCS is trading at $0,007624, 0,43% from its 7-day all-time low of $0,007592.

✅Total market cap of altcoins this week is ~$600B

✨Bitcoin Fear and Greed Index is 50 - Neutral, higher than at the beginning of the week (49)
