🔊Weekly Market Highlights #66: October 2 - October 8

✨The first week of October 2023 saw Bitcoin recover slightly above the $28K threshold, making the cryptocurrency community optimistic about the prospects for the fourth quarter; this is usually a period of market growth.

✨In addition, many people also turned to the trial of former FTX CEO Sam Bankman-Fried, with many important witnesses giving statements against this character.

✨Over the past week, the crypto market increased by ~$7B (from ~$1,085B to ~$1,082B) of its total capitalization.

✨BTC Calms at $28K
✅A week ago, BTC initiated a substantial surge on Sunday night into Monday morning, gaining over $1.5K. This peak led to a six-week high of $28,6K by Monday evening.

✅Yet, the asset couldn't sustain its momentum and swiftly retraced most of its gains. This was followed by some sideways trading, only to be succeeded by another price surge that briefly pushed it just above $28K. However, this rejection was more forceful, driving BTC down by a little over $1K.

✅But the bulls promptly intervened, preventing any further downturn. Bitcoin rebounded and once again crossed the $28,2K mark on Saturday. Since then, the asset has hovered around $28K, showing minimal movement in either direction.

✨This Week’s Top Performers
✅When looking at the weekly charts of the altcoins space, we can easily spot that red dominates almost all of them. BNB, ETH, SOL, ADA, TON, MATIC, and DOT have all retraced by 1-5%.

✅On a weekly scale, there are several notable gainers. TWT leads the way with a 26% weekly surge to $1. RNDR, AVAX, and XMR follow suit, with ~4% up.
